A perfect Central London location in SE1 (all to yourself) with a king size bed and a separate double bed - approximately 25 minutes walk to Tower Bridge and close to many fantastic London attractions such as Tower of London, London Bridge, Southwark Park etc. You will have the place to yourself. For independent shopping, bars, cafĂ©s, and restaurants, Bermondsey can’t be beaten. Alongside this, it has a thriving arts and culture scene with one of the world’s leading contemporary art galleries, White Cube, together with the Fashion and Textile Museum, the brainchild of flamboyant fashion designer Zandra Rhodes and the Bridge Theatre, a 900-seat venue developed by theatre and film director Sir Nicholas Hytner. Plus, the proposed new multi arts and cultural hub on the High Street incorporating cinema, gallery and exhibition space will provide an all-day community centre.

A foodie mecca, Bermondsey is overflowing with a stunning and varied selection of eateries from street food to independent bistros to Maltby St Market plus the infamous Bermondsey Beer Mile. After indulging in the artisan food scene, locals can take a stroll around Bermondsey Spa Gardens or the Antiques Market, known as one of the five best in Europe. Natural History Museum. -1 - 2 bedroom garden flat, There is a king-size bed in the bedroom, and a mezzanine including a comfortable double bed in the living room with 90cm headspace. There is a small ladder which leads up to this bed. In the hallway, there is a small step which leads to the kitchen. The kitchen has all the mod cons including a dishwasher, stove and oven. The apartment is located a 14 min walk to Bermondsey Underground Station - Zone 2 on the Jubilee line or a 10 min bus ride to Elephant & Castle - Zone 1 on the Bakerloo and Northern lines. The neighbourhood offers a quiet environment with a local park just 5 minutes away and also two supermarkets close by.

The space

The space is nicely furnished with all the equipment needed to guarantee a comfortable stay. The bathroom is a good size with a bathtub.

There is a charming L-shaped south-facing garden which captures the sunshine from 9am until 6pm, perfect for the warm weather!

- The bedroom will be prepared for you with sheets and a bath towel for each person.

-There is a mezzanine double bed (second bed) with 90cm headspace accessed via a ladder in the living room

-Fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, hob, toaster, coffee machine and a kettle. You will also find some cooking pots, plates, glasses, cutlery etc. Please just help yourself!

Little stay in Bermondsey

We had a lovely stay at Jo’s place and she made sure to welcome us with lot of place’s recommendations around. The apartment is a cosy place to stay with a little garden in a quiet neighbourhood. It takes around 20/30 min by walk to get to Bermondsey street and London Bridge area where you can find some cute and nice restaurants or coffee places. The second bed requires a certain agility to get to so maybe not the best place for senior people 😉. If I can suggest a little improvement, the place could be a little be more clean.

Perfect stay for calms nights close to London !

We stayed at Jo's 5 nights and it was perfect ! We were two friends, and each had our own bed, one big bedroom, and one mezzanine bed in the leaving room. Lot of space to put our own stuff, and Jo generously let us use all of her stuff :) Being in her own flat gives a very appreciated homey vibe, and the little garden is a must with sunny weather ! Jo is super welcoming and has tons of good adresses ! Thank you again for the easy and great stay !

My 19-year-old son and I loved staying at Jo’s flat. It’s small (think “cozy”) but gets plenty of sunlight, even on overcast days. She’s made excellent use of the space—despite its size, we didn’t feel cramped. And it’s an excellent value, which allowed us to budget for other things like dining, entertainment, sightseeing, etc.The beds are very comfortable. If you're tall or don’t like ladders, the loft bed might not be ideal. My 5'6" son had to duck slightly getting in and out, but once up there, it was cozy and comfy. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, and cookware. The oven, dishwasher, and washer are compact. There’s no dryer, but a drying rack is provided. This worked fine for our week-long stay. The private, L-shaped patio is a real plus; I loved having my morning coffee there.The location is fantastic—less than five minutes to Bermondsey Street, full of restaurants, pubs, and shops. The area reminded me of some of the trendier parts of Brooklyn in NYC. It’s a 15–20-minute walk to the Tube (Jubilee line), which connects easily to other lines. Buses are also available, though we preferred the Tube. (Note: Tube and buses aren’t really air-conditioned—something to keep in mind during summer.)Jo is friendly and responsive. She seems to have addressed the few negative reviews she received in 2024. Unless you're extremely particular, you’ll find the flat clean and secure. We found Jo’s listing accurate, and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Bermondsey - Ideal Location

Bermondsey is a friendly diverse community. The rental property is a. fifteen minute walk from the closest tube station on the Jubilee line. It is an ideal location for visiting Tower Bridge or central London. The neighbourhood is very quiet. Security was good. There are three doors to be locked when leaving the property The rental unit is undergoing change. The drawers and cupboards contain a variety of personal effects and the kitchen was very cluttered. I spent an afternoon vacuuming and making space in the kitchen. That said I would gladly return. Jo explained the dos and donts of the property. She quickly returned our emails requesting information or assistance.

Functional but not very clean

The host was friendly and mostly responsive which was helpful. The bed was the most comfortable thing we’ve ever slept in and the shower was great. It had all the utilities we needed including a large drying rack as there is only a washer which is not a problem. The location was very easy to get to by the number 1 bus and had all the space we needed. Unfortunately we had some issues with the place, such as all the utensils were disgusting (all had crusty old food and needed to be rewashed), as a person with severe allergies as well this was worrisome for using the kitchen. There were no knobs on the stove, however the stove did function just fine. The place was not clean, it is worth noting it is a lived in place so the owner does live there when no tenants are there so the level of cleanliness was lower than other VRBOs. There was layers of dirt in the corners, handles of appliances and drawers and the window sill. Not all the electrical worked so the hallway lights did not work at all. We were very uncomfortable as young travellers that the window to the bedroom did not lock, and to that end the window locking mechanism was missing. When we reached out to the host she ignored that part of the message at first (which was the only thing she was unresponsive on to be fair) and then told us to google how to lock windows in the UK when we explained the piece was in fact missing. This was very frustrating and rude as it wasn’t user error the piece simply did not exist.

Not a good location

The first night we were there we had druggies right out side the apartment yelling and fighting. We didn't feel safe at all so we left and got a hotel for our stay. No refund was given. Also, there's a pornographic picture in the bedroom, so do not bring kids. There's also not a clothing dryer, so don't plan on being able to do laundry.

THE DOUBLE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE, WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE OUR OWN BREAKFASTS MOST MORNINGS, THE BUS NUMBER ONE WAS VERY CONVENIANT AS WE WERE OUT AND ABOUT EVERY DAY. ON OUR LAST DAY COULDN'T FIND THE WASHING MACHINE POWDER/LIQUID SO WERE UNABLE TO WASH THE SHEETS AND TOWELS.

The price was right

My friend and I were looking for an affordable place just to lay our heads while we explored London. We enjoyed the location in a quiet neighborhood . The check in process was super easy and we were allowed to drop our luggage early so we could explore London. We ended up taking a couple hour rest before doing that and JoJo was kind enough to let us do that . The place was clean enough but could have used a deep cleaning of floors . One important thing should be noted is that the second bed is accessed only by a latter and very close to the ceiling . My friend and I both had knee surgeries recently so that wasn’t able to be utilized . Also, there is a small step in the hall leading to kitchen that isn’t noticeable until you trip on it —easy solution would be some bright tape because it is definitely a hazard . The apartment is cute and worked for what we needed but could use a deep cleaning , stair marked, and second bed description so people know that it wouldn’t work for a handicap or elderly person in any way . It was about a half mile walk from underground and a little shorter for the bus which we didn’t mind that at all but is good to know . Once again JoJo was responsive and delightful and I would recommend staying there with those improvements .

Not what I expected

First if all the host was a wonderful lady. She sent me a list of restaurants and attractions to try and see. BUT
 this flat is not vacant. The flat is her house that she lives in. There was too many things lying around and not enough space for my things. The sheets were not fresh. I had to wash the pillow cases before I went to bed. The listing listed a washer and dryer. No Dryer! Had to use the iron to dry the pillow cases. I couldn’t find the hair dryer either. The bath towels are old. My opinion is if you want to rent your flat out you need to use separate sheets and towels for your guest and not your own. I payed for 5 nights but checked out the next day. Found a beautiful vacant flat just 6 minutes away. Lost over $700.00. If you don’t mind living in someone else’s house then this place could be for you. Not my cup of tea.

Nice cozy flat

The stay was good and it’s a perfect spot for 2-3 people! Not in a crazy busy area which is nice for when you need to go to bed. But also a short walk to some nice pubs and food areas. 15 minute walk to the tube system which was nice. Lights were hard at first but super easy once you figure out the system! Overall a nice stay for the price.

Nette Unterkunft NĂ€he Tower Bridge

Wir (1 Erw., 2 Teenager, aus Deutschland) haben unseren London-Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Gastgeberin Jo war super nett und flexibel mit allem. Wir durften z.B. am Abreisetag unser GepĂ€ck noch bis zum Nachmittag dort aufbewahren. Die Wohnung ist voll eingerichtet und wird normalerweise von der Gastgeberin bewohnt. Also sind auch ihre Sachen darin, aber man hat genug Platz, es sich selbst gemĂŒtlich zu machen. Das WLAN hat gut funktioniert, es sind auch Steckdosenadapter vorhanden. Das große Doppelbett und das Hochbett sind bequem, wir haben alle gut geschlafen. Die Lage ist in einer ruhigen, ganz normalen Wohngegend. Der Weg zur U-Bahn dauert mit flottem Schritt ca. 10-15 Minuten, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Bus sind noch nĂ€her dran. Man ist inkl. Fußwege in ca. 45 Minuten bei den ĂŒblichen SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten. Fußweg bis Tower Bridge gute halbe Stunde - ein schöner Abendspaziergang. Wir kommen gern wieder!

Cosy stay in Bermondsey

The apartment is cosy with your own little backyard and is fully equipped with anything you need. Jo is very nice and helpful and quick to answer when you need to ask something. The surroundings are peaceful and it's just a short walk to hop on a bus.

Very nice house and excellent position

we stayed at jo webber's place in july, the house is very nice and clean, and there are the dishwasher, the kitchen and the washing machine. the position is excellent you can easily arrive to london bridge station and to the center of London with the subway. The host was really helpful and the communication with her was perfect and fast.

Pros: - Nicely located place. Around 12-15 min walk to Jubilee line, which brings you downtown quickly. - Jo was super super reachable for questions and helped to get accommodated. - All needed basic amenities to stay for week+. Cons: - This place is not fully dedicated for rental, and somebody lives there. This has implications on the setup: there were clothes in places, some pills on the table, food in the fridge, random stuff here and there, etc. etc. I personally did not expect that there would be that much stuff. The pictures were a bit misleading since they did not show that part carefully. Overall good stay.
