Arrived at the hotel, which to their credit allowed us to check in early as we had to get to a wedding before their usual check-in time. Unfortunately the room was absolutely freezing - we thought the heating might be off, but it was actually on. As we were in a rush we turned the heater up and left for the day. We got back late at night to find the room still extremely cold. As the reception building was closed, and weâd previously been told that the hotel was fully booked, we handed the key in to the bar and drove for 2 hours home. Given the circumstances, I asked if we could get our money back. I was told no, as we hadnât given them a chance to rectify the situation. This is fair enough, but as the reception was closed for the night and weâd been told there were no vacancies, we didnât realise this was an option and I donât think itâs unreasonable to ask for a refund. Disappointing - wonât be back and will tell others to avoid.
