This chocolate-box cottage for two is near the quaint village of Pelynt, 5 miles from Cornwallâs south coast. The cottage sits within a 50-acre estate with beautiful woodland walks and a lake with Canada geese, moorhens, and ducks. Head into the village (1.5 miles) to browse the local shops or grab a bite to eat in the friendly pub. Further afield, spend the day on the sandy beach in Looe or pottering around the narrow, cobbled streets in Polperro (both within 6 miles).
The stone cottage is bursting with original features, and has been decorated in a traditional style with antique furniture, floral fabrics, and homely accessories. After a busy day, relax in the inviting lounge and warm your toes by the open fire and watch a classic film on the Smart TV. The compact kitchen has been cleverly configured to include everything needed for a self-catering break, and thereâs a cute dining table overlooking the garden for sharing romantic dinners for two. A narrow spiral wood and stone staircase leads to the first floor, where youâll find an attractive double bedroom with whitewashed stone walls and far-reaching countryside views. This room benefits from an en-suite bathroom. The enclosed garden is laid to lawn and has furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining and a fabulous hot tub for reviving weary limbs after a long walk.
Looe is a vibrant seaside town with a picturesque harbour and wide, sandy beach. The town boasts a fantastic selection of boutiques and galleries to peruse, along with cosy pubs and seafood restaurants. In summer, boats depart to the wildlife haven of Looe Island, where you can admire the resident grey seal colony. The unspoilt fishing village of Polperro is a must for the itinerary, with its charming fishermenâs cottages clinging to the hillside and its picture-postcard harbour.
