The Cottage is a warm, dog-friendly retreat set within 6.35 acres of beautifully maintained grounds on the peaceful Gildridge Country Estate. Surrounded by nature yet close to local amenities, this two-bedroom detached cottage offers the perfect blend of comfort, privacy, and rural charm – ideal for couples, small families, or a quiet getaway with friends.
Inside the Cottage
This characterful property is arranged over two floors, combining rustic charm with modern convenience.

- A fully equipped kitchen with contemporary appliances and a ground-floor cloakroom
- Two first-floor bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom
- A sofa bed in the living room for added flexibility

The Cottage is located on a small, gated estate in the heart of the Sussex countryside, with scenic walks, wildlife, and rolling landscapes all around. The historic village of Chiddingly is just 1.75 miles away, where you’ll find traditional English charm and welcoming local pubs.
Nearby, Lewes (8 miles) offers a rich blend of history and culture, with cobbled streets, a medieval castle, independent shops, and a vibrant café and restaurant scene. Trains from Lewes station run directly to London in just over an hour.
Eastbourne (12 miles) and Brighton (15 miles) are close enough for day trips to the coast, offering beaches, boutique shopping, and lively entertainment. Brighton is especially known for its Royal Pavilion, bustling Lanes, and colourful atmosphere.
Getting Around
A car is recommended for ease and flexibility. The cottage offers on-site parking, and good road links make visiting nearby towns and countryside attractions easy. Taxis and Uber services are also available locally, and trains from Lewes provide excellent connections.
For walkers and cyclists, the area is full of scenic trails and countryside routes, perfect for outdoor exploration.

Tennis Courts
- Tennis courts are available free of charge year-round. - Please bring your own equipment (equipment can be provided upon request).
- No other games or activities are permitted on the tennis courts.
- Pets are not allowed within the fenced court areas.
- Court gates must remain closed at all times for safety.
- The courts are strictly for tennis use only. Bikes, skates, skateboards, scooters, or any other activities are not allowed on the courts at any time.
- Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Hot Tub Rules
Water Level: Maintain the water level at the minimum waterline. Use the nearby hosepipe if needed. If not maintained, pumps and heating will shut off.
Lid Use: Always close the lid to retain heat when not in use. Never get in with the lid on or close the lid while in the hot tub.
Personal Responsibility: Use the hot tub at your own risk. Parents are responsible for their children's safety.
Prohibited Users: Pregnant women, children under 9, and individuals with heart conditions should not use the hot tub. Consult a doctor if you take medications or have medical conditions.
Health & Hygiene: Shower before using to remove oils, cosmetics, or hair products. Do not use the hot tub if you have open sores, wounds, cuts, or diarrhoea.
Safety Guidelines:
- Do not use the hot tub under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- No eating or drinking in or near the hot tub.
- No pets, urination, or intimate activities allowed in the hot tub.
- Keep your head above water to avoid overheating.
- Stay hydrated before entering and exit immediately if you feel dizzy, overheated, nauseous, or unwell.
Quiet Hours: Please keep noise to a minimum after 9 PM.
Bathing Suits: Suitable swimwear must be worn at all times.
Hot Tub Cover: Close the lid after use to maintain water temperature. Do not sit, lay, or stand on the cover. A £750 charge applies for damaged covers.
Entry & Exit: Be cautious when entering and exiting to prevent slips or falls.
*Park at your own risk as management assumes no responsibility for any damage, theft, or loss that may occur while the vehicle is parked.
*Caution should be exercised when walking the grounds as there are several ponds on the property.
