Welcome to the Pondo – Your Rustic Black Hills Getaway

Stay in one of five quaint, vintage motel rooms at the Ponderosa Inn and Cabins, tucked into the trees just 100 yards off Highway 85 in Lead, SD. The rest of the property features separate cabin rentals, and you’ll likely spot deer or turkeys roaming by.

This is a rustic, older property — simple, clean, and peaceful — with just enough modern comforts:

This cabin is pet-friendly with a one-time pet fee of $75. We allow up to 2 dogs/cats as long as they are fully potty trained, will be off the bed and couch, and not left alone unless kenneled.

We’re available by phone 24/7 for anything urgent, and we're on-site most days — but not always. Think of this as a laid-back Airbnb experience in a boutique motel format. You’ll have privacy and independence, but we’re just a call or message away if you need anything. :)
House Rules – Ponderosa Inn & Cabins
As professional hosts, we want your stay to be peaceful, comfortable, and relaxing. This is a rustic, no-frills property in a beautiful setting, and we ask all guests to treat it — and others — with respect so everyone can enjoy their time here.

🚭 Smoking & Vaping
Smoking or vaping of any kind is not permitted anywhere except in the designated smoking area on the south side of the property under the covered picnic area.

If smoking occurs inside your unit, you may be charged for professional cleaning and asked to leave the property without a refund.

🐾 Pet Policy
This cabin is pet-friendly with a one-time pet fee of $75. We allow up to 2 dogs/cats as long as they are fully potty trained, will be off the bed and couch, and not left alone unless kenneled.

All pets must be on a leash at all times when outdoors.

Please clean up after your pet.

Excessive barking must be addressed immediately. If barking cannot be controlled, the dog will need to be removed from the property.

Quiet hours are from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Please be mindful of other guests and keep voices, music, and TVs low during this time.

🧹 Damages & Cleanliness
Please treat your unit and shared spaces with care.
Guests are financially responsible for any damage, missing items, or excessive messes during their stay. If something breaks or isn’t working, let us know right away so we can help.

No illegal activity or drug use.

No aggressive, disruptive, or disrespectful behavior toward other guests, staff, or animals.

Violating any rule will result in immediate removal from the property with no refund.

This is a rustic mountain property located just off the highway.

Use caution on uneven ground and outdoor stairs.

Do not leave space heaters, PTAC units, or other electronics running unattended.

You are responsible for your own safety — we are not liable for accidents, injuries, or stolen property during your stay.

Free parking is available near your unit. Please do not block other driveways or guest areas.
