The Space:

Arrival: We are a very secluded property with endless privacy. The property can be accessed with all size of vehicles, but we do recommend AWD and 4WD vehicles in the winter just in case of severe snow



Hiking: We offer 4 short trails around our 16 acre property. We keep the trails mowed and well maintained.



Bedrooms: We offer 2 queen bedrooms on the main level with 2 full bathrooms in close proximity. Upstairs you'll have access to 3 queen bedrooms, 1 King bedroom, and a full bathroom. Downstairs you will have access to 2 queen bedrooms, a bunk bed room, and a full bathroom.



Cooking: You'll find all the silverware, pots, pans and plates you need to pretend like you’re going to cook yourself dinner from scratch! Duel Keurig for K-cups and ground coffee



Towels: 25 luxury white towels and washcloths provided. Please feel free to bring extras for the hot tub



Firewood: Please bring your own or purchase at any nearby store or gas station



Grill: Traeger Pellet grill with space for all the meats and veggies. We provide the fuel as well

Great house for a family reunion. We had three different generations (the youngest are all teens) and everyone had room to spread out and plenty of activities to do. Main floor bedrooms were ideal for the grandparents so they didn't need to navigate stairs. Ample bathrooms and beds were comfortable. The kitchen had a very large working space, which is ideal for us as we create massive family dinners.We had two issues during our stay - a minor one upon arrival, and a bigger one on the main day - but the host was very responsive and provided solutions as fast as he could.Overall, a great place to stay that we'd gladly return to!

The property is as listed. It is definitely off by itself, and very quiet. The road in does have you drive through a very shallow creek, as others have described. It was not an issue for the cars in our party. Plenty of room in the house for a large group. The owner was very responsive to communications.

AMAZING!!!!! If your looking for a large, clean environment, this is definitely the house to vacation in. The house was very clean and spacious. The owner was very nice and responded back in a timely manner whenever i reached out with questions or concerns. Fun for All

Our family reunion tribe included an 11-month old, kids, teens, adults, grandparents and a dog.There was something for everyone at this rustic lodge built with entertainment in mind. The group spread out, with some playing games, some watching movies, some in the hot tub, some doing puzzles. It is a spacious place with many activities that appealed to all.The grill and large kitchen allowed us to prep and host our group for meals. We enjoyed gathering to eat together at the huge dining room table.Additionally, everyone had a comfortable place to sleep with privacy and a nearby bathroom.In short, everyone enjoyed our time together immensely. We would go back to Velvet Oak Lodge in a heartbeat!

Great for Family Reunion

Great location for our family vacation...22 of us incl 4 kids under 3. Large eat in dining, well appointed kitchen with large island, plenty of refrigerator and freezer space, nice grill, etc. bedrooms were comfortable and we enjoyed the spacious porch, fire pit and hot tub. Already thinking about coming back.

Exactly what was promised. Plenty of room for our big family of over 20. Owner was always easy to reach and made sure our stay was perfect. We had no complaints. And it's an easy drive to any of the nearby attractions

Such an amazing house with gorgeous property!

The pictures do not do this house justice! It is absolutely amazing! The bedrooms were cozy and simply decorated. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The kitchen and dining areas were perfect for cooking and playing games! The basement was our favorite location. The arcade games, pool table, and movie watching area was a blast. I loved the shooting game!The hiking trails around the house were fun and well maintained. We even made friends with a beautiful kitty that lived in the woods. We saw lots of birds while hiking and the nature sounds were very nice while sitting on the many outdoor seating areas. We would definitely rent this house again and will definitely recommend to other families looking for a nice place to visit.

Perfect for our family trip!

This secluded property was perfect for our family trip and still close to the Hocking Hills Trails and Lake Logan. There was plenty of room and something for the kids of all ages! Don’t be intimidated by the “creek”! We had two cars in our party and it was fine, even with a lot of rain! Great memories were created and we are thinking we should make it our yearly get-away!

Our new favorite place to stay at Hocking Hills

If you’re considering this cabin, do yourself a favor and just go ahead and do it! The location is gorgeous and so peaceful. It’s looks exactly as described and had everything we needed for our stay. There were 8 of us and the cabin had more than enough space for all of us. The kids loved the game room, movie area and trails to explore. Ryan, the host was great and quick to respond to any questions I had. We LOVED our stay here and are already planning our next trip!

Great weekend getaway

Property was just as described in listing. Pictures were completely accurate. We loved the privacy of this property for our family of 17 getaway. There was plenty of space for everyone and lots of outdoor and indoor activities for the kids. The house was about 20+ minutes from hiking trails.
