We did not stay there. It wasn’t what was advertised. The only view was of a highway or parking lot. We were two miles from the lake and not at Rumbling Bald like we thought we would be. We entered the condo at Apple Valley which was okay but we left and drove back to our home.

Top of the hill...top of our list!

We love Rumbling Bald and always stay in the Apple Valley Villas when we are there to golf since they are the most affordable option that includes resort amenities. This one was a newer listing and we thought we’d take a chance on it since the rate was good. Pros: Location is probably the best of all the villas (#4). Cleanest one we’ve stayed in as well! Beds were comfortable, plenty of pillows. Coffee maker has both K-cup and filter type. Property manager answered phone directly and was very helpful. Cons: the resort pool and hot tub was closed for maintenance which we were bummed about since we like to use those after a day of golfing. Will rent this one again!

Golf/Spa weekend

My husband and I went so he could play golf with his buddies at Apple Valley and this little place was perfect! I went to the resort and used the spa facilities with the ladies while the guys golfed. We all met up for drinks and dinner at the end of the day. We had a fabulous time and hope to be back again soon and stay longer!

Great stay

This condo was ideal for our stay at Lake Lure. It had everything we needed for a quick getaway with access to all of the resort accommodations including golf. We also hiked the nearby trails and enjoyed coffee on the patio in the morning. I would stay again.

Lake Lure/Rumbling Bald Villa

We visited Lake Lure for a belated family Easter celebration. Family members have a place inside the gates of Rumbling Bald but their bedrooms were all filled so we booked this Apple Valley Villa as it was budget friendly. Other overflow family members stayed in a different Villa but we think ours was cleaner and newer feeling. The location was definitely prime. Although it was small, it had everything I needed. I was even able to cook a couple of side dishes in the efficiency kitchen to contribute to the big family gathering. Beds were comfortable and we slept great. Very quiet. Water pressure was good in the shower as well. There was some construction going on at the resort but we all walked down to the lake and played a round of mini golf nonetheless. We want to come back for another visit and explore the resort more, maybe play a round of golf. We’d definitely rent this little studio again.

Perfect Getaway

From walking into the condo to departure (so hard to leave!), this stay was outstanding. We loved that the condo was in a nice quiet corner upstairs so we felt like we had that area a bit to ourselves. However, Lake Lure is generally a nice peaceful spot anyway. We loved relaxing on the porch in the evenings and listening to the night sounds of the mountains. The condo was decorated by an expert eye. We had everything we needed from freshly brewed coffee to cooking and dining ware. We made quick and easy breakfasts in the cute kitchen and dined on the porch area. Loved the big screen TV for the moments of room relaxing. Such thoughtful little touches throughout. Although, we were out and about a lot with our access to the Rumbling Bald resort area. This is the perfect spot to easily access all Rumbling Bald offers. From golfing, tennis and pickleball to swimming, boating and sightseeing, there's something for everyone. We started our first morning with a game of tennis and got invited to play Round Robin with some regulars. We’re not very good so that told us right there how accepting the locals and regular visitors were. Everyone was so friendly! We hiked, ate a delicious lunch overlooking the lake at the resort restaurant called Legends and visited Flowering Bridge filled with beautiful plants, fairy houses and all sorts of unique sculptures scattered throughout. Other things we hope to try next time are mini golf, actual golf and likely a bit of boating.
