Log Cabin peacefully situated in gated mountain community in the Riverbend of Lake Lure in Blue Ridge Mountains. Cabin is on Mirror Lake with wood burning fireplace, firewood, firepit and canoe available! Sleeps up to 10 with FOUR private bedrooms and loft with queen futon sleeper. Access to private lakes, beach and river. minutes away from cabin. Minutes to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Walk to lake in back yard with private pier. 4 bedrooms/2 full baths with wood burning fireplace and small lake view. This cabin is a fantastic mountain home in a fully wooded peaceful area located inside Riverbend. This is a true log cabin with a real mountain feel. When you walk in, you see a welcoming kitchen/dining area and the main level living room. a log burning fireplace, Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen TV. The dining room seats 6. This property offers a well-appointed, functional kitchen. The main level features a master bedroom with a queen bed and adjoining bathroom which is also accessible from the main living area. Upstairs you’ll find a bedroom with a king sized bed overlooking the great room with a flatscreen TV. The lower level offers another bedroom with a Queen and twin Bunk Bed and a full bath.
Mallard cabin is only a short walk to lake and beach! This log cabin also features a game room with pool table. Located in "Riverbend", a private gated mountain community with private Mirror Lake and Beach, Riverwalk, a beautiful path down to the Broad River with waterfall, small rapids great for the kids to play in(dogs welcome at river), Old Swimming Hole for great summer tubing and wonderful hiking. All minutes from the town of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock with lake/riverside dining and shopping. Minutes from Chimney Rock State Park. There are a wide variety of activities to do around the Lake Lure area from zip lining and hiking to white water rafting and tubing. There are also a number of highly rated golf courses nearby along with putt putt, tennis, horseback riding, four wheeler riding rentals, hiking trails and more. Some nearby attractions are Biltmore Estate and Winery, Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, Carowinds amusement park, and Burntshirt Winery in Chimney Rock. close to 2 ski resorts and 14 miles from Moonshine Mountain snow tubing in Hendersonville NC!

Quick easy get away

Being a family of five we are used to having to have someone cramped up on a futon or couch. This cabin had beds for everyone and space for everyone. We loved swimming in the lake. Hope to stay there again soon.

Disappointing Cabin

The view is a swampy puddle in the back yard. The dock is overgrown with brush blocking any water flow. The back yard is so steep there is a rope tethered from the tree to the bottom to help you get down and up. There is also a big drop off on the side of the driveway that is not mentioned at all in the description. The entire neighborhood is gravel road, some areas better than others, which was also not mentioned. The front door opens into the stairs. The bedrooms were fine, but none of them have an adjoining bathroom. This was misleading from the description. The basement is barely finished! We finally found the pillows to the basement bedroom on the dirty floor on the basement closet. The basement bathroom shower door falls off the track. Every single drain in the house leaks! Even showers! Toilets clog! The smart tv was in a bedroom not the living areas, and the Wi-Fi was terrible. There was no toilet paper, paper towels, etc provided. There was a chore list for us to do at checkout. Not sure what the cleaning fee is for. There were crumbs in the futons when we opened them up. Gross! Area was nice, house is a hot mess! Also, the spare key is so well hidden that my 12yr old found it within 5 minutes of arriving.

Great house for the price!

We stayed here for a week with 8 family members. Our host was super responsive and we love love LOVE the area. The community has a private beach AND watering hole to swim in as well as trails to walk on. It’s smaller than we thought and definitely felt a bit cramped at times but the price made up for it. They need a replacement toaster asap, it does not work properly. Overall, the house is super cute, has an amazing community, the host was very responsive, and it is a great price for what you’re getting. The pool table was so much fun too!

Nice place to relax and enjoy some quality time with the family, was a little hard to get there for some reason the GPS take as to a dead end road, but definitely worth it, will be nice if they upgraded the dock

A good stay

We had a good week at the house. Everything was as described. House was good, hill was steep. Property manager was responsive. A few maintenance items were repaired while we were there. We were thankful to be able to bring the little dogs. and all be together. Overall, we had a really good stay.

I know it’s in the mountains but terrible phone reception, toaster only works on one side. The hill down to the water does need railroad ties for some sort of stairway.

Very Nice!

My family and I had a wonderful time at this home! It has beds on 3 floors. Plenty of room for our kids and other family members. Close to everything in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Secluded Private Neighborhood.

Disappointed

The outside and inside of property need a deep cleaning. There was no bathroom in the upstairs master bedroom. The stairs were very steep, and would not be good for very small children or older individuals. I would not choose this property again for my vacation stay.

Great trip

The location of this cabin was easy to get to, easy parking for 3 vehicles and in a quiet, peaceful area. The cabin was clean and the outside area ideal for the dogs to play and the kids to walk down to the lake and do some fishing where we could see them from the deck. House was comfortable for our group and so were the beds. Kids enjoyed the pool table. Could use a few more chairs in game room. All in all a great stay.

Overpriced!

Although the rental met our needs for the trip and was clean, we were disappointed with the rate we paid for this rental. There weren’t any reviews to go by when we booked, and the pictures do not show the awkward setup in the basement. Have you ever seen the episode of Seinfeld where they turned George’s room into a pool room? That’s what it reminded us of since the room is definitely not large enough for the pool table and piano. The walk to the lake area is very steep, as well. Other than the awkward setup and unfinished areas, we enjoyed our stay. However, we would not book this house again.

The photos that we saw to pick our location was not accurate of what we actually got. Also the game room was to small for the pool table. The blinds were taped together. There was no back yard. No waterfall was present it was down the path. Hornets all in inside the house it was very dusty. Screen door was off the hinges leaning against the house. Details said that my family was the first renters however the damages to the house says otherwise. Found old socks under bed from other people. I do not recommend this house for any family the pictures do not give you a realistic picture of what you will receive.
