Welcome to your home base for year-round Keweenaw adventure. This centrally located retreat sits along the peaceful Shoemaker Trail and offers direct access to some of the region's most beautiful natural surroundings. Whether you are looking for a summer escape by the lake, a hiking and color tour destination in the fall, or a full snow-season playground, this property puts it all within reach.

One of the true highlights is the property's 100 foot stretch of Lake Superior shoreline. The pristine beach features soft sands, crystal clear water, and stunning sunrise views. It is perfect for swimming, or simply relaxing to the rhythm of the waves. Spend your summer days paddling, sunbathing, or gathered around a lakeside campfire under the stars.

In the warmer months, the Keweenaw becomes a hiker’s paradise. Perfect for hiking, biking, or exploring by ATV. Nearby favorites include Estivant Pines, Bare Bluff, and Hungarian Falls. Take a short drive to Copper Harbor for mountain biking, kayaking, or simply soaking up the charm of the harbor town.

When fall arrives, the peninsula bursts into vibrant color. The crisp air and fiery foliage make for unforgettable hikes, scenic drives, and cozy evenings. Brockway Mountain Drive, just a short drive away, offers some of the most spectacular views in the Midwest during peak color season.

As the snow falls, the Keweenaw transforms into a winter wonderland. With direct trail access from the property, snowmobilers can hit hundreds of miles of groomed trails right from the driveway. Nearby, enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat tire biking. For downhill enthusiasts, legendary Mount Bohema is just a short drive away and offers some of the most challenging terrain in the region.

The home sleeps up to six guests comfortably with two private bedrooms and a pull out couch in the living area. It is pet friendly, so your four legged family members are welcome too. Inside you will find a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy living space perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors. Whether you are gathered around the fire, playing games, or enjoying a quiet morning with coffee, the setting is perfect for reconnecting and relaxing.

Centrally located between Copper Harbor and Houghton, this property makes exploring the Keweenaw easy while offering the peace and quiet of a more private setting.

Had an amazing stay with my friends. Great beds shower and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would totally recommend a stay here and very affordable if you want to go ski at mount Bohemia. It was not a bad drive of 30 minutes to the hill. Right on the lake too which was so cool to wake up too. Close to Gay as well if ya need a drink make sure to go to The Gay Bar and get some merch!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Beachfront Getaway a ton. It was very clean and it had everything to make the stay enjoyable, from games to fresh towels, comfy beds, cookware and great views of icy Lake Superior morning and night! Jason and Misty are wonderful and responsive hosts, making sure checkin is easy and that you have everything for great experience! We hope to be back in the summer to explore more in the area since we won’t have a distraction of a snowy mountain then. It’s quite a special area.

Even with the unpredictable Lake Superior weather, this stay was 10/10. When it was sunny, the shoreline was gorgeous, and when the gales blew in, the house was cozy, warm, and the perfect place to watch the waves. It’s rare to find a place that feels this private and serene while still having all the modern amenities you need. A true five-star stay.

This was a great stay! Beautiful property! We absolutely loved catching sunrises from the beach and having bonfires with the sound of the waves to unwind in the evening! The family games and things to keep children busy were a great touch as well! This was a perfect base camp for our UP travels!

The place was impeccable as far as cleanliness and super well equipped. It was freshly painted in areas, and could have used perhaps more cure time, but it looked great! Checkout rules were sent last minute- it would be good to list them upfront as I didn't see them until after checkout, but we took care of the things on the list regardless.

It was easy to manage 2 well behaved dogs due to the resilient floor covering and simple rugs. The kitchen was well appointed. The remote location was ideal and peaceful. Beautiful walks, wonderful cooked meals, reading and comfortable beds, made for a relaxing 50th wedding anniversary.

The property was clean and felt more finished than the impression I got from the photos. Access to the beach was tricky, involving getting a ladder from the garage and using it to descend to the beach, but I understand they're planning to add easier access soon. The beach itself was absolutely gorgeous and serene.

This property is just lovely! It's quiet, remote, serene and our hosts were kind enough to allow our dog to join us. The home had everything we could possibly need, and more, and was immaculate. Our only regret was that we couldn't spend an extra day. We were greeted with a glorious sunrise our first morning, which we enjoyed from the enclosed back porch. That evening, we were gifted with a double rainbow! The views are spectacular. This will be our go-to place when we visit the Keweenaw. Thanks for your kind hospitality!

My husband, my 13-year-old son and I had a great visit. The house was clean, and very well stocked. Honestly probably one of the best stocked homes I have seen out of the 10 or so I have stayed in the past. This was my first time staying with a VRBO host and I was impressed. I gave four stars because I think the mattress in the king bedroom needs to be updated along with the seating arrangement in the family room. The access to the beach was fine and we didn't have any problems using the temporary ladder to get down there. Overall, it was an awesome stay and I plan to book in the future.
