Luxurious beachfront retreat on Lake Superior!

Enjoy stunning sunrises from the deck while listening to Lake Superior waves lap the shoreline. Located on the east side of the Keweenaw Peninsula, near Houghton and Calumet, this house offers panoramic views of Lake Superior and Big Traverse Bay. The pure white sand beach is more than 100’ deep and more than three miles long.

The house offers 3 bedrooms of a king, queen and two twin beds, and two full baths, sun room, outdoor shower, deck and lanai with stunning views of Lake Superior. The open concept kitchen, dining, and living room have beautiful morning light with large windows, making it the ideal place for morning coffee and gatherings. The gourmet kitchen is perfect for holiday gatherings or casual cooking and includes granite counters, Miel dishwasher, Sub-Zero refrigerator, and comes fully stocked with pots, pans, spices, and plenty of cutlery.

The master bedroom and a large bathroom with walk-in shower and custom live edge vanity are on the main floor with two additional bedrooms and a full bath on the lower level. Unique furnishings and decor highlight the areas natural features and give this house a clean, modern open feel. Two kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard are available to enhance your enjoyment of the water. Outdoor shower, hammocks, and deck furniture are available from May - October. Construction was completed in spring 2023.

Wildlife such as bald eagles, sand hill cranes, beavers, geese, ducks, and deer are regularly seen. Great blueberry picking in late summer/early fall on the property, nearby public parks and a pick-your-own blueberry farm just a few miles away. Superb fall colors make autumn a beautiful time to visit. The Keweenaw offers downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, world-class mountain biking, fishing, boating, copper mine tours, two national parks, antiquing, hunting, light houses, beaches, spas, kayaking, historical tours, and much, much more.

The location on Lake Superior is the best part — the water access was fantastic for swimming. The host was responsive and did refund the cleaning fee after we reported issues, which was appreciated.However, several aspects didn’t match what we expected for the price or the “luxury” description. The kitchen is dated in person despite nice photos, and there is no TV or large gathering space upstairs near the kitchen. Seating and living areas are limited if you’re bringing more than two people. There are no window coverings on the front-facing windows, and because the neighboring property is very close, privacy was an issue. Also, you cannot see the beach from inside the house due to a large sand dune blocking the view.Small details like extremely low-quality toilet paper and some cleaning/preparation problems at check-in also detracted from the stay.Overall, the lakefront access is wonderful, but the interior, privacy, and amenities do not fully align with the listing or price point.

The main of the home is elevate and has a walkout deck.We really going out on the desk to see the stars and night sky. One night the Northern Lights were coming and going in flashes it was magical. The place was easy to relax in listening to the water.

Amazing stay on Lake Superior! Location, house and beach were all fantastic! House was accommodating for my husband and I upstairs then another couple and their kids downstairs. Cooked daily and had what we needed. Beach has beautiful sand, kayaks/paddle board were bonus and kids even swam. Large windows on lakeside of house had awesome views. Check-in and out were super easy. Thanks for hosting us:)

loved watching the lake all day. pleasantly surprised that we had a sandy beach and easy access into the water. no rocks, just soft sand under my feet. also enjoyed a daily walk along the beautiful wooded road. some nice features of the house that i haven’t experienced at other vrbo places: well-lighted rooms and hanging space in bathroom, plus a light that comes on as you start up or down the steps.

Amazing!!! Don't miss out! Highly recommend. Bald eagles galore for viewing. Kayaking and paddle board along the shoreline stunning. Beach perfect. Multiple sitting areas. Setting is down seasonal road; absolutely beautiful. Lake Linden Grocery Store nearby and if in season must pick blue berries at Ponchos.

Superior Beach Getaway

Our family of 6 had a fantastic 2-night stay. Driving directions and the check-in process were great. The house is beautiful and feels brand new. The beds were very comfortable, and the bedrooms had space to spread out. The bathrooms were nice, and the laundry setup was very convenient. We loved the super-short walk to the beautiful white sand beach and the fire pit area between the house and the dune. The outdoor shower and foot wash station were very helpful. Our family loved sitting on the beach and swimming in the crystal clear Lake Superior water with a sandy bottom. We enjoyed being able to run/hike/bike on the gravel roads directly from the house. A highlight for us was kayaking along the cliffs which are along the lakeshore to the south.We highly recommend exploring Copper Harbor and taking in a sunset on the west coast of the Keweenaw.Our host, Todd, went above and beyond to find paddles for us (we forgot to pack them) and was very responsive to all of our questions.

Gem of a place

My family loved our stay here. We stayed in 2 places while on vacation in the UP & this was our favorite- wishing we had stayed longer. We cooked all our meals while here & the kitchen was wonderful. The beach is gorgeous, and we even did a "cold plunge" as a family in the lake. Truly a gem of a place.

Amazing home

Location matters! I really needed a vacation away from cars, trains and planes. The quiet peacefulness of this home was remarkable. Everything about the house was wonderful, and Todd's communication really made it easy to enjoy our time. Looking out from the master bedroom to the lake is a one-of-a-kind experience that can't be beat. Cooking for my family in the gourmet kitchen was a pleasure. I brought eight fancy meal kits and they were a breeze to make using the wonderful equipment here.My kids enjoyed the extra space to relax in after busy days exploring the peninsula. very grateful that we got to experience the house, the beach, and the nearby communities! Thank you!

A relaxing getaway on the big lake

I came to ski Mount Bohemia with some friends and Todd's place was clean, well equipped and a great vibe to relax and enjoy views of icy Lake Superior. Tap water was tinted brown due to the well. Todd did say it was safe to drink and a drinking water fountain is provided.
