Welcome to the Wheatley Lake House in Lake George

Welcome to our cozy little house in Lake George, Michigan. We hope you will love our little piece of paradise as much as we do. Although we are not on the lake, we are as close to Lake George without being on the lake. The primary bedroom is spacious with a king size bed. The second bedroom is small and unconventional but very functional with a full-size bed, its own half bath and houses the washer and dryer. The large foyer area can transform into a mini third bedroom with a single murphy bed. In a pinch there is also a rollaway bed in the primary bedroom closet. At the end of our street is a small neighborhood beach area with a bench where you can sit back and enjoy the scenery, go swimming, or do a little fishing. Around the corner is the public access boat launch for Lake George and there is another public boat launch with a beach / park a very short drive away at Shingle Lake. Our little downtown boasts the Swiss Inn which is our local bar / restaurant. The Depot, our convenience store, has awesome pizza and ice cream. We also have a Dollar General Market that carries most anything you may need. There are grocery stores in nearby Harrison and Clare. There is lots to see and do locally and within a short drive. Close by we have Living the Good Life Alpaca Farm, Snow Snake Ski & Golf, DNR trails, and Rocks and Valleys Off-Road Park. There are plenty of golf courses nearby. We have Eagle Glen in Farwell, Devil's Knob and The Tamaracks in Harrison and Gladwin Heights in Gladwin. Soaring Eagle Casino is also just a short drive away in Mount Pleasant. Also, not far from the casino is a great restaurant called Mountain Town Station. Gladwin is a short drive that has a great restaurant called the Riverwalk Grill in the Riverwalk Place resort and Spa. In the fall Gladwin also has a wonderful little cider mill called the Fruitful Orchard with cider, donuts and a wine tasting room. If you are a foodie, there are lots of great restaurants in Cadillac. Some of my favorites are Burke's Waterfront, Lakeside Charlies, and Dockside Inn. Our town is golf cart / side by side friendly, so bring your toys and boat to enjoy everything our lake has to offer. Our community has a few special events to enjoy. Among them are our community parades, our annual car show, 5 K walk, boat poker runs and side by side scrambles. Join one of our Facebook pages to see all of what is happening in our Lake George community. We now have in our little downtown area Lake George Boat & ATV Rental. They provide rentals of boats, paddle boards, kayaks, ATVs, golf carts, bikes, lily pads and more. So, come on out to Lake George and enjoy our little piece of paradise. Please be aware that this area is not known for good cell phone service.
