Great Beach House/ Parking/Walk to Shores

Sand Patch, located in La Jolla Shores is a special beachy home. Sand Patch is ideal for a vacation or a longer stay. The home is just a short walk from famous La Jolla Shores Beach and Kellogg Park, and an enjoyable stroll from great dining and people watching on Avienda De La Playa.

Once you arrive at Sand Patch you will feel like you are somewhere different and begin to relax and enjoy yourself. Enjoy breakfast under a wide market umbrella on your front deck and take in the peek views of La Jolla Cove. Then, after a day out or at the beach retire to the back patio to barbeque, read and dine alfresco. Outdoor lighting will enhance the mood. The property is fully fenced and gated offering privacy. You are in a small, private haven once you close the gate behind you. An outdoor hot and cold shower offers a refreshing alternative for cleaning-up after a quick dip in the ocean. This is a great place to take in the good, year-round weather of La Jolla. Open your French doors and take in the fresh air and warm sunshine.

The living area has beautiful hardwood floors, a wood burning fireplace and plenty of windows make for a striking living area. Relax on the comfortable sofa to read, listen to music or watch TV. Seat 8 around your long dining table, ideal for entertaining friends and family. This home has a modern cook's kitchen with ample counter space, stainless steel appliances and a large side-by-side fridge. You'll find everything you need to cook up a storm and serve your meals attractively. The cooks get to watch the world go by through large windows that open onto the front deck.

This beach house has two bedrooms. The primary bedroom has a comfortable king size bed with built in shutter closets and french doors that lead to the back patio plus television with streaming and ceiling fan. The second bedroom offers two twin beds, built in closet and ceiling fan. The living room also has a sofa sleeper to create additional sleeping space if needed. The rooms are light and airy - perfect for a beach retreat.

There is high-speed internet access throughout the property. This home also includes parking for one car in the driveway as well as street parking.

The stay here was a little rough... Let's start with the Pros:- 2 blocks from La Jolla Shores--great location- Pet friendly with awesome yard for the dogs to run around- Lots of rooms and price isn't badCons...Make sure you read the description...this spot does NOT have air conditioning. I missed this in the description, and since we stayed in September it was extremely hot and humid. Even with all the windows open at night, the house does not get anywhere close to cool (and you have to leave everything open which means noise and risk of break in). I couldn't sleep at all with how hot it was. I definitely wouldn't stay here between May and November...it might be fine between November and April.We had a major issue with the plumbing. It didn't work well to start, but in the middle of the stay the sewage started backing up, spewing water, sand, and more into the house through the bathtub, toilet, etc. This just happened to be on our wedding day...which was awesome. The property managers handled it decently well and quickly, sending a plumber immediately and cleaner eventually...but it meant we basically lost access to the house for a whole day (again our wedding day...)...so we had to scramble to find a place to shower, get ready, etc (the property manager did offer some options but they weren't good ones).

The house was lovely! It was very easy to communicate with the owner. It was amazing to be so close to the beach and have access to all the beach gear, like boogie boards, wagon, beach bikes,etc. The only suggestion I have is to improve the smart tv access. One of the tv's was not working properly. Otherwise, amazing stay!! Highly recommend!!

Amazing House

This place is great spot to spend a week - perfect location for everything San Diego has to offer - La Jolla beach is so close and little beach town 5 minute walk. House itself was generally nice - master comfy bed and nice room. Kitchen good, hang out area good. Host super responsive. Only dings were back yard hang area was real beat up - rusty and cob webs on chairs, bikes were rusted out and unusable, beach chairs kinda gross.

Location, location

There are two reasons to stay here: first, location. it’s a five-minute walk to the beach, and about the same to the local restaurants. Second, the yard is totally enclosed, so it’s great for a pet. Our second time here!

Terrific property & fab location

Wonderful experience right from our first inquiry through booking, easy checkin process and clear speedy communication with our host was easy! Great space and everything was spot on as per listing pics and detailed description. Traveling as a couple but with LOTS of gear (bikes, golf clubs), the layout of this property provided ample space for our needs and we were able to really relax and settle in for our longer stay. Home was exceptionally stocked with anything and everything we might need to feel right at home and make best use of it. Master was very comfy and pressure/temps in the shower was excellent. We did not use the bbq provided during our stay but we did make great use of the beach gear provided
such a bonus! The outdoor space is very secure and even the front deck is quite private for morning coffee and lazy afternoons. The LOCATION was second to none, as being so close to the beach was just fantastic
we would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here with 2 young kids for 5 nights. PROS: 1. The location is good, just a few blocks to the beach, a little market and the restaurant strip. 2. There’s a nice big wagon and lots of beach toys, as well as bicycles. CONS: 1. The road beside the backyard is quite busy these days and can be loud if you’re out enjoying the yard. An ambulance even went by one day and woke up my toddler from his nap. 2. He slept in the garage area, which has no window coverings (so we brought our own, but still had to makeshift it to get darkness). 3. Our 4 year old slept in the room with the bed against the wall, but its window coverings still let a ton of light in. We also didn’t like the fact that there’s a door to the outside in that bedroom. 4. The faucet in the bathtub was very calcified, and there wasn’t any shampoo, conditioner or body wash/soap. 5. We asked prior to arrival if there was a pack ‘n play available and they said yes, and that they’d drop it off before we check-in. It was not there, so we contacted them again and they apologized and finally dropped it off at 8:30pm. Good thing my cousins had an extra one at their place, because my son’s bedtime is 7:30pm. 6. There was no coffee pot, so we contacted the rental co. about it and they said they’d bring one shortly, which never arrived. They also said to go buy a brewed coffee and they’d credit us, which hasn’t happened yet. 7. There was no toaster.

Great family friendly property two blocks from beach

One of the best setups we've had to date for a family. We were able to bbq and cook. Great enclosed courtyards on front and back of house. Very close to La Jolla Shores
