Iâm genuinely confused how this hotel maintains a 4â5 star rating because our experience did not match that standard.
To be fair, the bedding and towels were exceptionally clean, which we appreciated. And while even one or two cockroaches is not ideal, we are in Malaysia and understand that can occasionally happen in tropical climates.
However, several issues were simply unacceptable. The room had no toilet paper provided maybe a few squares left on an empty roll and zero back up at all, which is a basic necessity and should never be overlooked. Even worse, the room was extremely hot â easily 90+ degrees â despite the hotel advertising air conditioning. Our AC unit ran the entire night and never cooled the room even slightly. Sleeping in that heat was miserable and made the stay very uncomfortable.
A hotel in this rating category should absolutely provide functioning climate control and basic amenities. Unfortunately, this stay was disappointing and did not live up to expectations.
We had 3 rooms. 2 out of 3 zero air zero toilet paper. Just a terrible stay wish we booked somewhere else.
Booked a family room for 3 adults plus a kid. So essentially they had 4 single beds made to look like 2 queens, all lined up side-by-side. In effect 4 people are sleeping together in one gigantic bed. And there was no space to even split the beds much less to walk without tripping.
TV reception was terrible as the images were blurred and we can barely get any decent audio through the static.
Further, the walls must be porous as we can easily hear people walking and talking outside, and they weren't even trying to be loud.
While I understand accidents do happen, when we checked in the evening, the water supply was down so no showers and toilet flushing. The hotel could at the very least inform guests early since they have all our numbers so that we can find alternatives. We had no choice for other accommodation but to check-in since it's already late.
