Absolutely shocking service

Booked into this hotel for 8 days. Location of the hotel is nothing special. Not much around. Taxi and Uber drivers struggle to find it for some reason even though it’s clearly marked on the street. Upon checking in we were told we had been given an upgrade to a room with a balcony. The balcony basically overlooked a whole lot of rubbish and waste on the neighbouring property. Not what I could call an upgrade! When we got to the room we immediately noticed there was no fridge in the room. This is a problem because I am diabetic and need my insulin to be kept cool so a fridge in the room is a must. The next morning we asked the hotel if they have one and the manager told us that there is a charge of 200 rupees per day to use the fridge! Couldn’t believe it as I have stayed in worse hotels/motels than this one all over the world and even the most crappy cheap accommodation usually provides a fridge in the room as standard. Especially in hot countries. We explained to the manager the situation and advised why we needed it. We didn’t care about keeping drinks cool, we needed it for Insulin. A valid medical reason! The manager said the best he could do was to charge us 100 rupees per day instead of 200. Absolutely absurd we thought! We requested that they give the fridge for free to us but the manager refused. We argued that all basic hotels worse than this include a fridge in the room rate, yet Sidra does not and want to make more money off us by charging for it. The manager

Double Booked

Pros: Modern, clean.
Cons: They could learn to respect bookings they have accepted.
Location: In a backstreet with a couple of small shops, and near the North Ernakulam railway station, but a bit away from the action on the waterfront & M.G. Rd
The hotel had double booked and had no room for us when we arrived. They sent us to the local Ibis hotel, which was not what we had booked or paid for. The duty manager told us there was a wedding party that had not reserved enough rooms so they had none to spare, and that they had also suffered a computer glitch involving bookings. They are clearly not competent at taking bookings, which is one of the core tasks a hotel should be able to do. They also chose to offer rooms to people who had not booked because they were part of a large and lucrative party, and sent a family who had booked a room months in advance to a mediocre chain hotel across town.
