Amazing property with beautiful views

We stayed here for a week and the house was fantastic. It was incredibly clean and the pool and jacuzzi were amazing. The driveway was a little difficult to get into as it's right off of the main road. Also there is not a very easy way to walk to the beach from the house except walking beside the main road. Overall though we were incredibly happy with the house and the location and price. We will be staying with them again.

There’s a lot of space for everyone to feel like they are "home". If I could make 1 recommendation from the last time we stayed here a few years back... upgrade the beds. They are vet hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. Other than that... this is one of the best places we have stayed visiting OBX the last 10 years.

This was so perfect for my family and fur baby! Clean, had everything needed. The bypass was there but never even noticed. Short walk to the beach and close to everything. Definitely will box this one again next year.

Recommend you stay elsewhere

We’ve been staying in OBX for years and this is one of the more disappointing experiences for the money. Houses of similar price and distance from the ocean had better finishes, more comfortable beds, better amenities, and simple conveniences like salt and pepper in the kitchen. It sort of boggles the mind that when we check in and a kid needs to use the bathroom after the long drive in, there’s no toilet paper in the house. You have to do a grocery run or know to bring literally everything. I’ve been renting houses 20 years and it’s the norm that previous renters leave behind basic spices, dish dishwashing fluid, even laundry pods, and certainly toilet paper. It was a weird experience. Plus someone from the realty company walked into the house midday to clean the hot tub which we hadn’t asked for (we hadn’t even used it by that point) and were not informed of in advance — we saw her walking in the house and were stunned by basically an intruder. For the money, would recommend staying in another house. Sorry folks.

Week at the Carolina Cottage

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Let me preface this by saying, I have zero idea of how this house has 5/5 stars. While we had a pleasant stay, we experienced numerous problems and found the location to be extremely undesirable. Cons: - long walk to the beach. The picture in the listing makes it look like it’s a straight shot but it’s misleading. You have to walk along the 4 lane, down the street, down another street, then find an access. Not great for families with kids - we arrived to the house after we were notified it was ready to find that the house hadn’t been cleaned. There were dirty towels in the entry, all the beds hadn’t been touched, pet hair everywhere, and you can tell nothing had been cleaned. Beach Realty sent out a team quick to get it fixed though! - we also experienced ac problems which the Beach Realty team was quick to respond to Pros:- pool was nice

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Carolina Cottage was as described. It was a very nice house with Basically everything we needed. We had two adult couples and two children (6 people) staying in the house and there was plenty of room. We also took our two dogs. Having the pool table, the pool and hot tub was really nice! There is also another refrigerator on the bottom level with the pool table which was very helpful and convenient. The house was clean. There was a decent amount of pool and beach toys, chairs and umbrellas to use if needed. It needed a little maintenance Here and there. The hammock out by the pool was falling apart and there were some light bulbs that needed replaced inside and on some of the balconies. I also had to call to request for the lawn to be mowed. Since the fenced in area by the pool has no grass I had to walk my dogs for potty breaks and their small dogs. the grass was taller than them. In one of the bedrooms on the second level, the one with its own bathroom, no the jack and Jill bathroom, had no closet space because they were locked with the owners stuff which was inconvenient for the people staying in that room. The walk to the beach wasn’t too far. Took about 5-10 minutes. There’s a path behind the house the gets you pretty close. The driveway is directly off of the main highway which at first I was a little concerned about just because that highway is so busy but the driveway is long enough you feel safe and we got used to it. You can hear some road noise in the room on that side of the house but if you bring a box fan it covers it up for the most part. All and all it was a good place with nice amenities and extras. I would stay there again.

First time in OBX - great rental!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first visit to OBX, so I really took a guess when I booked this home. I will say, that pulling up to home I was feeling a little uneasy; wondering if I had made the right decision. I definitely did! The inside was perfect!! The lay-out was great- we were only a family of 4 so we had a lot of space! Even with 6-8 people I think we would have been ok. The pool was awesome- a must for the beach. Everything we needed was there. We had to make a service call for the hot tub, and they were really fast in coming out, but it was just a re-set issue. It would be nice to have the manual so I didn't have to waste anyone's time. You are pretty close to the main highway but there is no traffic in the evening so you wouldn't realize it. The only drawback, for us, was that we were 2 streets back from the beach. It was too close to drive so lugging all of our beach paraphernalia was kind of a pain. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

We were very unimpressed with the company and house that we had last year! It was a completely different story this year. We got into town early. I called to inform the company, and they assured me that I would get a call as soon as our house was ready. After a little beach time and shopping, we got a call at 3:30 to come and get our keys! The house was very clean and well maintained. The yard and pool were tended to mid-week which shows that they care about the property and their guests. As a family of 4, we had more than enough room in the house. We were able to bring our dog too! We loved having the luxury of the pool after a long day on the sand and in salt water! Especially with small children. We couldn't be more satisfied with the house. It was in a great location. Close to stores, restaurants, and activities. We had the option to book the same house, the same week next year! The only reason we didn't is because we want to try different towns every year. However, I will definitely be booking with Beach Realty again next year! Thank you for a great vacation!
