Alternatively, journey to the idyllic RSPB Loch of Kinnordy (2.5 miles) to explore the boardwalks through the wetlands and look for rare birds from the hides. There are also some fabulous local attractions to enjoy, including 600-year-old Glamis Castle (3.5 miles), which was the childhood home of HM The Queen Mother. For shopping and eating out, head into the attractive town of Kirriemuir, with its narrow streets and characterful cottages.

The converted stable sits within a private farm estate, surrounded by the rolling Angus countryside.
