The Space:

SKI_IN Family Escape is all about space and location. This unit is filled w/ everything a family could need. Full size kitchen w/ counter space and dining table to have the whole family enjoy a meal after a long day on the slopes. Great wood burning fireplace w/ unlimited amount of wood as well as radiant heat will keep the family warm and cozy all night.

The studio is about 220 yards to the Kirkwood Village main mountain access, a short walk to the lifts and you can ski-in right to the front door of the building from chair 6 or chair 7 when there is snow covering the street. There are also groomed cross-country skiing trails right out the back door of the building.



The free Kirkwood shuttle picks up in front of the building giving you transportation to the Kirkwood General Store, Kirkwood Village (Chair 6, 10&11) &Timber Creek, the beginner learning area (chair 7 and Bunny).



Ski right in drop your gear in your assigned locker, while you're there tune up the gear @ the self-serve waxing station if needed. Then stroll upstairs to your unit and enjoy a meal w/ the family or play a game stored in the closet, better yet head down stairs to the hot tub for a soak. Hot tub (winter months only) is located adjacent to a large great room with two-sided fireplace, large tables and super comfy chairs to relax in... perfect for entertaining guests.



SKI-IN Family Escape is equipped w/ one queen bed, plush bedding, full size futon w/ all the bedding needed, and 2 twins just perfect for the young ones. Full kitchen w/ everything a chef could need to make a fabulous meal as well as a gas grill on the private deck. We supply tea, coffee, sugar & creamer and some basic seasonings + cooking oils.



Entertainment needs: 2 Smart TVs logged in w/Netflix. High Speed Wi-Fi Capable of Hosting Multiple Video Calls & Streaming Needs plus good old fashion games for family fun.



When visiting you will have private underground parking available for one car/truck. Which means no shoveling snow off your car after shredding powder all day! You will also have access to a full-size ski locker w/ lock to keep all your equipment safe and dry. Lockers are conveniently located at the main level entrance of the building.



Early/Late check in/out policy:

When we can accommodate, an early or late check out can be made available for a $50 fee. The reason we charge this fee is because Kirkwood has the highest utility costs in the country.



Explanation of $205 cleaning fee: Finding reliable, good cleaners in a remote mountain town is no easy feat. Also, after the whole Covid 19 fiasco, we continue to take extra precautionary measure to insure a safe and clean stay for our guest. This is extra time and care going into the process of cleaning our units. Additionally, ALL LINENS are washed including blankets and duvets. This is not a unit where just the sheet are cleaned between stays! As you can imagine, utility costs in the valley are also quite high, so that factors into the clean as well. Please know that we are indeed taking all the necessary steps to keep us all safe.



The Neighborhood:

Kirkwood Mountain Resort is a lush green landscape with Sierra Nevada Mountain Range Access.

Hiking, Mountain Biking, Photography, Exploration, Dozens of Lakes, Fishing and stargazing.

Kirkwood Community is a very quite and secluded location. In Summer Months in can seem like a ghost town but with that there comes this peaceful environment which is hard to find in the busy world we live in now.



Other Things to Note:

PLEASE NOTE: Radiant heat to the building will be shut off during the spring and summer months (May through October). There is a space heater for your convenience. Unfortunately the wood fire place is currently out of commission.



Interaction with Guests:

We are available 24hrs via message, text and call for any questions or concerns. We are also available in person during normal business hours or in the case of an emergency.
