DO NOT STAY HERE if you are sensitive to mold or have CIRS. This house smells like a wet moldy basement. Not sure how it has such good reviews. I contacted the owner Brian within five minutes of being in the house telling him I could not stay there due to the smell. He tried to gaslight me and tell me it didnât smell, and his housekeeper was there right before me and she didnât smell anything, so it mustâve been wild animal walking by. This is incorrect because it didnât smell outside. It only smells when you walk inside the house. This house is lipstick on a pig. Iâm a mold inspector by profession and walked around took pictures to document it. This house is equivalent to quick flip houses I inspect; they look nice initially, but when you start looking around, you can find significant water damage that has been covered up. I told him the ductwork is disgusting, and he said ductwork is not part of normal cleaning. The AC unit is in the water damaged basement. This is what is most likely causing the smell because it is bringing contaminated air into the house through the ductwork. There are water stains on the kitchen ceiling, and he told me those are not water stains. He said I could cancel through VRBO. I contacted VRBO and they said they canât cancel it; he must cancel the reservation due to his software he uses. He kept saying I need to cancel through VRBO. Iâm out 1000 because heâs refusing to refund my money and we never stayed at this house. Found 2 dead cockroaches.
