Daniel Boone meets Mid Century Modern Retreat

This wilderness lodge is anything but typical. Charming and rustic the “mid century modern meets Daniel Boone” decor will provide the ultimate sanctuary for romance and comfort.
Experience a fun day of mountain biking, hiking, antiquing or a day at the beach on our 24 acres or in the adjacent State Park and a 20 minute drive to . There is an on-site gym available. Outdoor patios and kitchen, grill and refrigerator.
The location of our Connecticut Country Cabin in the heart of Chatfield Hollow makes visiting area attractions easy. We are just minutes from Ivoryton Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, Mystic Seaport, Mohegan Sun and Foxwood Casino's, Essex Steam Train and the Connecticut Shoreline. During your stay, explore local art and history at one of the many quaint New England towns and villages. Find year-round outdoor adventure: hike the many area parks, cruise the Thimble Islands, go apple picking or downhill skiing. Shopping enthusiasts will love to spend time exploring Clinton Crossing Premium Outlet Center-one of the largest designer outlet center in the U.S.. Enjoy the wide variety of antique shops, farmers' markets, or you can even take a high speed ferry from New London to Block Island just 30 minutes away.

Our stay at this stunning property was extraordinary. The communication was excellent; we received detailed emails in advance explaining the amenities and check-in/out procedures. We were assured that any questions we had would be answered quickly.We arrived to an exceptionally clean house, decorated with lovely furniture and a well-equipped kitchen. The bedding was comfortable and the towels were cozy and luxurious. Everything was clean and tranquil. Tema was at our disposal from the moment we arrived and took care of all our needs—nothing was missing. His warm welcome made our stay feel even more pleasant and comfortable.

We cannot say enough good things about our stay at Chatfield Hollow. The house was beautifully appointed, and the winter snow made everything magical. The one thing that made the stay truly wonderful was the extraordinary kindness of the host. Our host lives on this beautiful property. He insisted we contact him for the smallest thing and he was able to anticipate our every need. We couldn't be happier with our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin with our family celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The cabin was so spacious and had everything we needed. The property was beautiful and we had fun exploring around the grounds. Tema the property manager was friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful property, was so relaxing for our family. The beds were super comfortable, not too hard or soft. Space for everyone to relax, take a walk, or use the workout room. They show so many pictures of the rooms, but the grounds were spectacular. There is a property manager nearby for any questions. Would highly recommend this place!

Beautiful Property

Rented this home for a Thursday to Sunday with a group of friends in town for a wedding. The property and home were absolutely beautiful. Plenty of sleeping space for 9 people. A gym on the property, and beautiful sights walking just around the house. The owner even showed up with bagels for us for breakfast on Saturday morning. Highly recommend staying here if you are ever in the area

Everyone raved about how lovely the facility and the grounds were. The common areas and several of the rooms were decorated with charm and whimsy. The large sunroom/dining room was a wonderful place to gather as was the living room. The kitchen had every convenience. And the owner and property manager were incredibly responsive and helpful. Just an extraordinary and memorable property. There is some variety among the bedrooms — 2 on the main floor are extremely spacious and luxurious with walk out balconies. The upstairs room was a bit smaller, but has a private bathroom and is beautiful. The 2 remaining bedrooms were quite nice but definitely quite a bit smaller and more simply furnished than the others. That worked out absolutely fine for us and there is nothing at all wrong with those rooms. They are just quite different than the other three. Just something to plan for if all 5 bedrooms will be used.Again, overall, this is one of the nicest, most memorable VRBOs we’ve ever stayed in. Perfect for our family during our wedding event. BTW While our wedding took place 15-20 minutes away in Madison, CT this would also have been a wonderful place to hold a wedding.

An unforgettable experience

Usually in life our experiences have ups and downs, positives and negatives. Sometimes one outweighs the other, and can make or break an experience. Then you stay in a place like this and the stars align. Ken’s property was magical in every way. Down to the actual property, the beautiful house, the service Ken and his team provided, and also the town. The house is impeccably clean and organized, it felt like home arriving. The property is well maintained and something out of a story book. And what really made it unforgettable was the service and attention to detail that Ken and his team provided. Truly 10/10, and can’t wait to come back to this property in the future with my family. If you are thinking about renting this property, do it now. Because I did and am so glad we went with this place over a few others we were looking at, the pictures truly don’t do it justice. Arriving on the property your breath is taken away by the landscape. Then the house is extremely cozy and roomy. There’s places to explore and hang out, I places to make memories that will stay with you for a lifetime. Thank you Ken & team!!!

Enchanting Country Setting

Beautifully appointed with high end furnishings. Bedrooms and bathrooms renovated and designed for comfort and luxury. The landscaping and surrounding property invites walks and outdoor activities. A wonderful private property for a group or family to spend time together close to shopping and activities. Host is friendly and helpful.

Gorgeous cabin!

We had a fantastic stay! This is a special cabin set in a serene setting. Cool vibe, very clean, with plenty of bedrooms and gorgeous bathrooms. We especially loved gathering in the dining room with the vaulted ceiling and windows all around to view the woods and pond!

Eight family members stayed here for a wedding weekend plus a few days. It is a beautiful, clean house and property with plenty of room to relax and roam. The innkeeper, Tema, answered our texts immediately and helped with our questions and requests. We highly recommend this property!

An unexpected oasis in the middle of CT

Pictures Don't Do It Justice

Y'all!! Our family needed a place to converge in Connecticut for a memorial service for a family member. Our three main families were all coming from out-of-state, and different states at that. We had several other families that traveled also from out-of-state, but only joined us for a BBQ after the service. The pictures do not do this property justice! It was beautiful and peaceful! The cabin was big enough for 9 of us staying for several days. We loved the upgrades to the kitchen too. And, on the day of the BBQ, we had about 25 ppl, and the grounds were perfect! It was a beautiful day and plenty of room for all the kids (9-16) to run around and have a blast together. I can't thank Ken and Tema enough. They made a bittersweet week as perfect as possible. Both were extremely friendly and responsive, and checked in on us several times. They even thought of a couple of things we needed before I even asked!

Beautiful get away

We stayed here for our daughter's graduation from college and it was perfect. There were seven of us and we were all very comfortable there. The surroundings are stunning - we wish we'd had more time there to enjoy them. Ken, the host, is very responsive and accommodating. We would stay there again if we are ever back in that area!

I was drawn to the home because it seemed beautiful and serene in the listing - it was. The communication and eagerness to make our stay perfect started before I completed my booking and it continued upon and after departure. It's too bad we had to leave. The ocean (Long Island Sound) is about 20 minutes away - very pretty and usable beach. It's about 25-30 minutes to New Haven. Seasonally full of flowers. Small ponds and Koi fish add to the properties beauty. It is a cabin in the woods, and it was awesome. Not a Four Seasons resort but it was close. Very comfortable temperatures when we were there in late May. Highly recommended!
