We went to a family wedding. The venue was very close. We spent most of our stay at mermaid way. Everything was just a pictured in VRBO. We enjoyed the amenities. And would recommend this 100%.

This house was very special and one of our nicest rentals. House was clean. It had many amenities. The large bedrooms and individual bathrooms were a plus for all adult family of 5. It was a few minute walk to the beach and a very sizeable pool. Location was perfect for restaurants and shopping some within walking distance. We've booked the same property for next year.

The property exceeded our expectations. The location was ideal, truly a short walk to the beach and centrally located to area restaurants, shopping and attractions. Our family loved the pool, the game room and relaxing on the balconies. Sitting on the 3rd floor balcony watching the people and cars go by was our dog's favorite. The owners were outstanding, they were quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had prior to and during our stay. We have vacationed in the Outer Banks several times when our children were younger and it was nice to return with them as adults. We were able to relive some of our favorite memories and create new ones as well. It was nice to be able to stay at such a wonderful property, with excellent amenities and accommodating hosts. We would love to stay at Mermaid Way again and would not have any reservation about doing so. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your slice of paradise in the Outer Banks.

Fun place to stay!

Mermaid Way was a wonderful place to stay for friends and family. We were at the beach everyday which was only a short walk from the house. There were so many activities at the house and surrounding area we could have used a second week of vacation. A wonderful time was had by all.

Amazing and relaxing

Our stay at this property was fantastic! There was a grocery store right across the street, the beach was also right down the street! It was a very enjoyable walk to the beach as well! Everyone was friendly too! The pool was me of the best highlights of the stay! The kids loved the pool and all the toys provided 10/10! Highly recommend!!! We will be going back

We really enjoyed our stay! The home was exactly as described and there was plenty to do in the house and in the area to keep everyone entertained. The home could have been cleaned better and the traffic noise was annoying at times but it wasn’t awful. We’d stay there again.

Spring Break in the OBX

This house provided an excellent location for a vacation in the OBX! We enjoyed every part of this house from the heated pool to the family fun game room. With a bathroom adjoining every bedroom, it gave our kids some needed alone space. This house will be our go to for future trips to the Outer Banks.

Lovely home in a prime location

We had a wonderful time staying at Mermaid Way! It is a beautiful home and truly is in a phenomenal location. It was great having all private bathrooms. The beds were comfy and the kitchen is spacious and well stocked. The house is super close to Jockey's Ridge, Wright Brothers Memorial, tons of stores, and a quick stroll to the beqch access.

Fabulous weekend!

Our stay here was wonderful! The host was very responsive with the few questions we had! The hot tub and pool were perfect! Very close walk to the beach and great restaurants! Highly recommend this place for your OBX vacation!!

Overall Great Stay

Overall this was a great place to stay. The house and kitchen were well stocked with stuff you'd need. Every bedroom has a bathroom. The pool and hot tub are nice. You are minutes away from stores to buy anything you need. It's an easy walk to the beach even with toddlers / young kids. You can drive your car down and park near the beach if you don't want to walk. I recommend doing this early in the morning because parking fills up fast. The beach is great and you are right by a lifeguard which is nice when you are there with kids. There are a few things that we didn't like about the house. The cleaners beforehand could do a better job. There was mold on the shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom and some mold on the floor vents in the kids' downstairs bathroom. It didn't bother us much but some people might freak out. All the bedrooms besides one are downstairs and above the downstairs bedroom is the living area and kitchen. If you are trying to sleep downstairs (or have kids that you are trying to get to sleep) and people are still awake and moving around upstairs you can hear it in the bedrooms. For most people, this wouldn't be a big deal but we did need to play white noise for the kids when they slept. We knew from reading other reviews before we stayed that the house was next to a busy road. The traffic noise is pretty loud. That didn't bother us too much but sometimes it was annoying especially when sitting outside at night trying to have a conversation.

We had a very nice stay. The cleaning company could have done a little better, but it was nothing major. The rooms are very nice. The pool was great. Location is rather noisy due to traffic. House is very conveniently located to everything OBX.

How can something so nice be so disappointing

Should state dishwasher only works on one setting grill was a disaster as needs replaced Not your fault but the fools racing there trucks Al evening long was a bit to much kill devil hills has a gang problem as much as we enjoy are vacation it won’t be back here
