Located in the oceanfront Niihau Building, your top-floor condo features unobstructed ocean views and is filled with thoughtful touches. Enjoy morning coffee and the sound of the waves on your breezy private lanai. Whip up beach snacks in the kitchenette - with a sink, microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. Extras include AC, high-speed WiFi, TV, and beach towels.

Islander on the beach 353

It would be nice to have bar height table and chairs for the lanai so the rail isn't always in your view. It would be nice to have other hooks and towel rods in the bathroom. Then vent/fan in the bathroom is really loud. Would be nice to turn the light on in the bathroom and not the fan.Need more outlets in the room. The extension cord outlets were very loose and hard to get to. The lanai door was very hard to open and the handle is loose. The view was beautiful from the lanai. Great location. We had to deal with smokers in 354 even though there are signs and you sign a contract saying no smoking on grounds. Front desk was of no help.

Fantastic!

Top floor oceanfront unit highly recommended if you like watching whales! Everything you need within walking distance. Definitely the sunny side of the island, if the forecast says its going to rain all day, it never does.

Needs cleaning

The Islander is in a good location and it has a laid back vibe. I'm familiar with the property so I knew what to expect of the location and amenities (thumbs up for those). This unit; however, needs some serious cleaning attention. Upon check in, the bathroom sink was clogged, there were spiders at the ceiling corner above the front door (in the room), the bathroom door had dirty handprints along the edges, there are tiny sand-colored ants that make their way to the dining table, and there is mold on the framed photos, portions of the walls, and on the drapes to the sliding glass doors. Maintenance was able to clean away the spiders and unclog the sink (turns out the pipe was filled with sand from prior guests). But, these are things that should be noticed and taken care of by house keeping during cleaning. I will stay at the Islander again, but not likely in this unit.

Great location to overlooking the ocean. Property is close to shopping and restaurants. The beach on the property is very small but almost no one goes there. Would definitely stay again!

You get what you pay for

Positives first - great view of the ocean, wonderful grounds around the complex, nice pool, grill was fine, easy parking and easy to get washers/dryers in the laundry room. The entertainment unit was excellent, though no instructions how to use it. Negatives - This apartments appears not to have been renovated since Hurricane Iniki in 1992. Kitchen range/oven is rusting and the refrigerator is functional but old. Microwave and dishwasher were relatively new. The carpet is old and rather gross. Mice in the apartment. Called Val, who is suppose to address all our concerns...responded only to repair the electrical front door lock that took us 6 tries to open when we arrived after traveling 24 hours. The problem reoccurred a day and half later. Left her a voicemail message about the door and the mice. Never heard from her. The door did work fine after that, but mice turds and urine were never addressed. Really gross. The phone number for maintenance on the wall of the apartment is disconnected. I told Val, but no response. The shower faucet is ready to fall off at any time. We had no fire alarm. It was disconnected from the ceiling. We found it on the top shelf in the closet as we were packing to leave. Old and yellow. The mattress was comfortable, but the pillows were old and cheap. We saw other units in this complex that were lovely. The summary of this unit on Vrbo says nothing about no linen/sheets exchange nor unit cleaning until after you have put down your deposit. Then lo and behold, no linen/sheets exchange nor cleaning unless you pay for it. We were there for 11 nights and we had to pay for these services? I have stayed in many places in my life, but this was a first. Another way for the owner to increase his profit. The daily rental fee is more at much nicer apartments in the complex, so again, you get what you pay for. If this is what you can afford then fine, but if you are looking for a lovely apartment in Kauai, do not rent this apartment.

Perfect location!

This was an amazing location! Right on the beach and equidistant from both sides of the island. Comfortable and nicely appointed condo. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

Beautiful views

We walked into this room, and were immediately awed by the beautiful view. The furniture is a bit dated, but we found the bed comfortable. The room got quite warm during the day, but it cooled down enough at night that we never had issues when we went to bed. The kitchen was not stocked with any food items (spices/coffee/oil), and we had to ask for an extra roll of toilet paper, because they had only left one. The manager was quick to respond to our questions. There were plenty of shops and restaurants a short walk away from room, which was very convenient. There were a lot of tiny ants in the kitchen coming in through the window, but other than that, the room was clean.

Private beach, lovely neighborhood, and a wonderful stay

This place delivered what it promised by providing a stone's throw access to a beautiful beach in eastern Kuaui. My wife and I stayed here four nights as part of our 10-year anniversary and we were not disappointed. We ended up having slow mornings to make breakfast in the kitchen and sit out on the balcony and just enjoy the sound and sights of the waves. This is walking distance to several restaurants varying in price and cuisine. It is also within walking distance of a market and a great bakery. The place is comfortable and perfect for a two-person stay. Would definitely stay here again if possible when we return to Kuaui.

Beautiful location!

Fantastic waterfront location within walking distance to many restaurants. Enjoyed the sound of the waves and the fantastic breezes. Great little condo with comfortable furnishings and an amazing lanai.

Beautiful oceanfront condo!

Wow, if you want oceanfront this is a great property. We loved the grounds and the condo. It is a bit dated, but clean and almost everything you need to have a great place to base out of and enjoy. The bed is comfortable, and we loved the table and chairs on the lanai. We wish there had been an extra kitchen towel and some kind of paper towels or napkins provided
we had to buy our own. But, really appreciate the coffee filters. We enjoyed our stay very much and wish we could stay longer!

Quaint ocean front view in central location

This condo (#7) at Kapaa Sands is small but perfect for a home base as you explore the island. Even though some of the furnishings were on the older side it was very clean and very well equipped for all our needs. The ocean front view is what makes this place. We had every breakfast and dinner on the balcony. Even without A/C the ceiling fan and the constant trade winds kept it very comfortable inside. Convenient location means you can walk to restaurants or shops which is a plus.

Great place!

The condo is nice, good size for 2 people, view is incredible, beach access is easy, location is great for accessing everything to do on the island, parking is easy, would stay there again!
