Designed as the nation’s first suburban shopping district built for cars, the Plaza was the vision of developer J.C. Nichols. Inspired by the architecture of Spanish marketplaces, Nichols began transforming swampy land in 1907. By 1922, the first Plaza buildings opened—earning the area the nickname “Nichols’ Folly.” Today, the Plaza is renowned for its Moorish-style architecture, cobblestone streets, and more than $1 million in public artwork, including fountains, murals, and over 30 statues.

You’ll have full access to both studio apartments and their respective amenities. This is a shared building with a controlled access entry to the building and condo itself. Guests also enjoy access to the building’s shared fitness center and rooftop patio.


The Plaza Pair is a unique and spacious dual-unit setup that combines two beautifully furnished studio apartments — The Plaza Nook and The Plaza Edition — connected by an interior doorway. This configuration is ideal for groups, families, couples traveling together, or those simply seeking extra space, privacy, and flexibility during their stay.

Each unit is thoughtfully curated with its own distinct layout, design elements, and amenities, yet they complement each other perfectly when booked together.

Unit 1: The Plaza Nook

Sleeping Arrangements: A cozy queen-sized bed with high-quality linens, ideal for solo travelers or couples who prefer a smaller, more tucked-away sleeping space.
Living Area: Includes a comfortable two-person couch, smart TV with streaming capabilities, and open shelving for storage and decor.
Kitchen: A full kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances including a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. You'll also find cookware, utensils, and dishware. Right off the kitchen is a cozy dining table to enjoy home-style meals.
Coffee Bar: Coffee lovers rejoice — this unit includes an enhanced coffee bar with a K-cup machine, milk frother, French press, and pour-over setup, plus mugs, coffee grounds, sugar and creamer.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum is right across the street which offers plenty of scenic walking and the Plaza is only one block away. When you're ready to explore, catch the free KC Streetcar and visit Union Station, Crown Center, Power & Light, and the City Market - all of these iconic locations are directly accessible on the KC Streetcar route!

Both units are fully stocked and individually functional, making it easy to spread out or travel with multiple guests. The adjoining door provides the best of both worlds: togetherness and privacy.

*POTENTIAL NOISE: These units are located off the first floor lobby of a shared building. With people coming and going regularly, noise is a possibility and we provide sound machines to make your stay more comfortable.

*IDENTITY VERIFICATION and PROPERTY INSURANCE REQUIREMENT: To help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with SafelyStay, Inc. to provide all reservations with damage protection of up to $1,500. This protection plan is $45 for all stays under 29 nights, and is included in the cost of your booking. Stays 30-59 nights will be required to pay an additional insurance premium of $305 directly on our website. Stays longer than 59 nights will be separately charged for damage protection extension at the rate of $130/30 days. Please note, guest screening is also required for any bookings made through VRBO or direct. Once your booking is confirmed, you will be contacted by Safely to complete an identity verification before your reservation date for any direct or VRBO bookings.

*PARTIES - All gatherings must be limited to 6, this is monitored and guests violating this rule will be charged a mandatory $700 fine. NO EVENTS OR PARTIES ARE ALLOWED.

*PETS - We do not accept pets at this property. There is a $500 fine for any unauthorized pets.

*PARKING - This rental does not include a designated parking space. During special events at the Plaza or Nelson-Atkins Museum, parking may be limited. We recommend planning accordingly, taking the Streetcar or using ride-share services when needed.

*CANCELLATION POLICY - Guests can receive a full refund minus processing fees (approximately 4%) if they cancel up to 5 days before check in. No refund will be provided if cancelling less than 5 days before check in.

*RENTAL AGREEMENT - We require all guests to digitally sign a rental agreement outlining all house rules once booking is confirmed.

This place was absolutely fantastic. Having 2 separate but together units fit my family perfect. Part of fam in one, the other 2 in another. The kitchen was entirely stocked with extras of everything needed. Location, location, location. I would definitely stay here again. And the hostess always answered questions quickly.
