We Loved This House! We are three older couples who stayed at this house in January. It is in a quiet residential area which is very peaceful but not far from restaurants and shopping. We arrived at night to find the house lit up, welcoming, and immaculately cleaned. Our host, Gregg, could not have been more responsive, helpful or engaging! The house has very comfortable and expansive common areas, with indoor sitting and dining areas, as well as outdoor sitting and dining areas on the lanai. The kitchen is large and equipped with every appliance and utensil one could need. It is perfect for an extended family or group of friends. From the lanai we could see whales breaching at a distance, and from the beach we could see turtles sunning on the rocks or warming in tide pools. Swimming in front of the house was not an inviting prospect. Too much lava rock and too shallow. But a short walk or drive down the road there were snorkeling spots among the lava rocks, a path along the beach, and a sandy beach. When we could tear ourselves away from the peaceful lanai we walked a short ways to see petroglyphs, and a lovely swimming beach was a 5-minute drive away. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Be aware that the rooms are not equal: there is one large ocean-front room, a second much smaller ocean-front room, a small room not on the ocean (but with a fun outdoor shower), and a large room separate from the main house toward the road.Â
