Lake fun awaits! Relax and enjoy this clean and freshly updated 2 story house

on Long Lake in Kalamazoo. Secluded in a private neighborhood yet still close

enough to the city and just a short drive when you want to enjoy a good

restaurant or a place to go for fun.



You'll love this amazing lakefront home in where you can make those family

memories you so deserve. Bring your own boat to explore Long Lake, a 575 acre

all sports lake. Enjoy all the amenities of home with a full updated kitchen,

dining table for meals or playing games, and a comfy family room for

conversation or just watching TV. Outdoors, you can relax or have fun in the

open grass of the backyard. Wrap up your night comfortably around our firepit

near the lake or gather around on our deck where you can enjoy our outdoor gas

firepit. Sleep comfortably in 2 bedrooms, each having a queen bed, with an

extra sleeper sofa in the living room to sleep 5 guests. 1.5 bathrooms and

private parking in the driveway.

Please note of the following policy in regards to pets:

Two Levels to Navigate

Let me preface my review by stating we are both seniors in our mid 80's with knee and back issues. We enjoyed the privacy and views of the backyard having our coffee early mornings. Very serene. The A/C was great on the hot humid days we spent there. Lovely updated modern kitchen was fully equipped with all one would need and had new appliances that we didn't use as we were mostly visiting family. Full updated bathroom downstairs, half upstairs. Very comfortable bed upstairs not so downstairs. Upstairs bedroom had a nice sized closet but only 2 wire hangers. Kitchen, bedroom and full bath on lower level had outdoor access to backyard. TV area, bedroom and 1/2 bath on upper level had access to street and parking area. Due to the outdoor access areas on either floor and the kitchen on separate floor from sitting area and more comfortable bedroom, this involved lots of up and down, which was not easy for us. Communication somewhat difficult but instructions thru messaging clear. Overall, rental was clean and there were no issues.

Not that great!

The unit is on 2 levels, which I don’t believe was disclosed in the description. Additionally, the water smells terrible with a strong sulfur/rotten egg smell. Check in and out was easy.

Very clean, but unaware it was 2 story.

I took my elderly mom to MI for a baby shower and we stayed here. Very clean, but we were not aware through the booking that this was a 2 story. The stairs to the kitchen were narrow and hard for my mom to manage. She even fell coming up the second day. I would not have booked this had I known it was 2 levels, but other than that, very clean, and a cute place.

Lovely Place on the Water

The property is beautiful. There is an expansive yard right on the water with a small beach. It is cozy place with two bedrooms on separate floors. Each bedroom has a bath (one full; one powder room). The kitchen is well-appointed. The furnishings are modern and new.

Not clean

I showed up around 11pm to the property on the first night, the porch lights were on which was inviting, however approaching the front door, the lock box was open with the key just set inside of it, less than ideal and raised some suspicion. Got settled inside and found crumbs, dust and hair all over the property as it looked like it had a very superficial cleaning and nothing more. For the rate of the property it was comparable to local hotels, which I ended up staying in due to the cleanliness of the place. I left that first night and had not been back. I was hoping it would be nice as I would be back in a few weeks for a family funeral and was going to stay again but was rather disappointed in the property.

Loved location!

Loved it, 2 problems though took away from the whole of the experience. The water from the sinks stank , no matter what we tried it stank. Shower, kitchen, bathrooms it smelled bad. The refrigerator gasket had mold all over, i got there first saw it and cleaned it before anyone else showed up. Other than that the location, the contact person, the house and furnishings were good. We absolutely loved the windows facing due east watching the sunrise over the lake each morning. The wildlife, the sounds, the quick access to everywhere.

Weekend getaway

The house was clean and could easily fit 4 people comfortably. A little beach area was nicely setup so you can get into the lake the only downside was the cane in front of the property obstructing the view of the lake. The manager was extremly nice and responded to messages in a timely manner. We had a good time.

We didn't know the kitchen was downstairs, the seating was very limited. Only 4 chairs in the eating area. I know this is a dog friendly house, but, I do not expect to find dog hair everywhere with such a high cleaning fee. The house was remodeled very nice. The owner was very quick to take care of our issues. The beach area and yard were awesome.

Sweetest Little Gem

I wanted to find a place to stay that was near the water, quiet and stress-free. This cottage certainly did not disappoint and fulfilled my wish list by far. No complaints here. I would love to make this a favorite and put it on my vacation list every year! From the welcome basket, watching the wildlife to all the little details, Tom did an excellent job making sure we had a comfortable stay. Kudos!

Nice location

We like the location, the yard, and the dock. The dock was good for fishing and easy to get in and out of our kayaks. Unfortunately the indoor furniture was very uncomfortable and seating was limited. There is a strong odor when we entered the house.

Nice property on the lake

We really enjoyed our stay on Long Lake. We loved the back patio overlooking the lake, the nice yard, and good location to walk the dog in various directions. Great for nature lovers and bird watchers! Central to everything we wanted to do in Kalamazoo or Portage. The property manager was very responsive to any questions or requests we had. Comfortable beds and furniture. Be aware that the steps to the lower level are quite narrow and steep if you have any physical limitations, but we had no problem with them. We would definitely stay there again!

Lakeside retreat

The house was very accommodating. It was clean and comfortable. There were nice towels and toilet paper (not the thin stuff). We found the steps to be a little steep but we all are in our 60's! We enjoyed the lake, the peacefulness of the neighborhood (School was still in session), the kayaks, cornhole, bullfrogs, and other wildlife that was there. We watched turtles digging holes to lay their eggs. Unfortunately the ones in the sand were dug up by something and destroyed overnight. The only thing I would mention is that the front porch had more dog hair on the furniture than we would have expected and when we moved the seats around for better visiting we knew the furniture hadn't been moved to sweep underneath in a while. All in all it is a great place to vacation. Kalamazoo has much to offer and this house is just minutes away from just about anything you would want or need. Thank you Tom!

Adorable Lake cottage

Such a lovely little home on the lake. Perfect for those who want a relaxing, quiet get away to a pretty lake . We were visiting family in Kalamazoo and really enjoyed staying here. Close to everything but in such a quiet neighborhood. So nice! For those with mobility concerns, please note their are somewhat steep steps down to the kitchen and the bathroom with shower is also located downstairs. Our kids loved the big backyard, the beach and playing Cornhole and going out in the canoe and the kayaks provided by the homeowners for use while we were there. Thank you so Much for sharing your lovely lake house with our family! We can’t wait to Come back!
