Beautiful home right on the ocean. Fifteen minute walk to the beach, great location to explore the island. Our family of seven loved it and had a great time. Management company answered any questions we had and did a great job of helping us with tours and suggestions. We will be back.

Great view but poor condition

Walking in the views of the ocean are beautiful. However, the first drawer we opened in the kitchen revealed two roaches running around. Those two had a big week they were in the drawer again later in the week. A few hours later a large roach cruised across the kitchen floor. All in all many more roaches were encountered. The next evening we tried to use the TV following the directions in the book but the TV and cable would not come on. Turns out after trying to diagnose for 10 mins we discovered there were no batteries in the remote. Luckily the third remote contained batteries and we were able to power on the TV/cable. Morning breakfast was an adventure turns out some of the cookware doesn’t activate the convection stove top. We called to report the burners not working but after trying a few other pans in the cabinet the copper color pans would activate the convection process. The bathroom sink in the master as the top of the steps doesn’t work on the cold water side. Finally, the shower at the top of the steps leaks through the kitchen light onto the stove. We had seven people in this location and being down one shower was a real inconvenience. Looking back at an number of the reviews of this location it turns out this shower has been leaking for years. I took picture to document much of these issues but it turns out they can’t be uploaded here. Last there are boards falling off the exterior the picture on this site is not recent.

Gorgeous view

The house was great! Some of the furniture was a little outdated, but it still was comfortable. The property manager was very hard to deal with, and it does not tell you in the review were in the description that one of the bathrooms is not accessible. so we looked for a house for four couples with four bedrooms and four bathrooms thinking that they were all usable. One bathroom leaked onto the kitchen stove and when we asked about it, he said we weren’t supposed to use it. Property manager never told us that then we also asked for the air to be put on and it didn’t work and we had to have the air conditioning people come out and fix the air. The thermostat didn’t show what temperature it was on and it didn’t go on and off correctly. The house had a beautiful view of the back yard, which was the ocean and it was in good condition but for overall, if a bathroom doesn’t work, I wouldn’t listed as a working one and charge people for it. The only thing the property manager did was refund the air condition because it cost to turn the air conditioner on, I would not recommend dealing with him ever again!

Beautiful House on the Ocean

When first walking into the house it is beautiful. It was perfect for our family in the end but would not have been a good choice if our one handicap person had been able to come (no bedrooms on main floor, expect sleeping space in garage). We loved the view and the awesome sunsets. The house a couple malfunctions while there...we were unable to use the upstairs hall shower as it leaked from above through a light onto the stove. Also we had heavy rain one of the nights and there was an area in the 2nd primary bedroom that had a sagging ceiling and water leaked out onto my family's luggage. I spoke with the property manager and he said he would attempt to get someone out to look at it but I never saw anyone during the rest of our stay. Definitely get the AC while at the house. It would be way to stuff without it.

Perfect house for our family group!

This home was everything we were hoping for and MORE! The deck off the main floor was a favorite hangout for reading or sipping coffee or a glass of wine and listening to the waves crashing. We could see school of fish in the water close to us and groups of dolphins and many boats going by further out. The ocean breezes helped keep the house comfortable despite the warmth and humidity , and we loved sleeping to the sounds of the crashing waves. The home is very well stocked in the kitchen and the clean and pleasant garage has ample beach supplies, including a pop up sun dome to protect the babies (or pale Oregonian adults) at the beach. Our family group of 6 adults and two infants were very comfortable in the 4 bedrooms and the bathrooms are very nice . If we return to KONA we will definitely ask for the same home!

Great home for a family group

We had 7 adults and one teenager. We loved the location of the house and listening to and watching the waves crash on the rugged coast. It was hypnotic. It is located between two beaches, both about a half mile away, easily walkable. The home is very convenient with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The kitchen is the most stocked with utensils and cookware and bowls of any rental I have ever been in, plus basic food supplies. Lots of balconies for everyone to enjoy. Lots of beach towels for guests to use and water toys (boogie boards, noodles, snorkel gear and beach chairs) Hope we can come back again.

Wayne was super responsive to all inquiries. The view from the property is spectacular. The kitchen and the garage were fully stocked. Overall, the experience at property surpassed our expectations.

Great location,

This house sits on the ocean just outside Kona. It’s big and perfect for a larger family with four bedrooms upstairs. The lanais overlook the ocean with sunsets and even dolphins in view. It is very well equipped and the small pool and warm tub are perfect for families with small kids. Swimming or snorkeling out back is possible, but seems dangerous with a the waves breaking into lava rocks. The problem with this property is the upkeep on this property and the management company. For example, we were quite excited to see bikes in the garage, but they were both broken. Chairs on the lower area , but again broken. Cleanliness was OK. Our big issue came on day two of a ten day stay when in July the AC went out on the upper floor where the bedrooms are. We reported this to the management company no less than three times and they failed to get it fixed for the next 8 days we stayed there and failed to make sure the AC company showed up and failed to communicate with us and then asked us to pay for half the AC bill ($35/night) after checkout since the downstairs AC still worked. Without AC on the upper floors, rooms were 80+ degrees and one guest slept on the couch downstairs to keep cool. Again, great location, poorly managed.

Superb place

Absolutely the perfect location for our group. Very close to magic sands beach, and KTA grocery store. About a 2 hour drive to the volcano. House was very well stocked with supplies. Mahalo to Kona Sunset Vacation rentals
