We stayed in this condo for 8 nights with our two teenaged children. While the views were absolutely stunning, there were several areas that could use improvement.In the past, communicating with owners is timely and efficient. Communicating with Vacasa was painful. No one answers their phone # (spent so long on hold that I gave up) and emails are not responded to in a timely fashion (they were dealing with "higher than usual volumes").The door was ajar upon arrival. So much for safety and needing a code to enter.I had inquired as to whether there were cooking essentials prior to arriving and was assured there were. The kitchen had ZERO cooking supplies. Not even a salt shaker. I've never rented a VRBO without at least oil and spices.Again, while the lanai is spacious and the views are absolutely breathtaking, the condo itself is tired (e.g. rust marks on light fixtures, faucets that need replacing, a kitchen sink that backed up more than once likely from a non-functional garburator, a hood light on the oven that doesn't work, etc).Overall, I would hesitate before renting this unit again, given the total cost to rent with taxes and ridiculously high fees.

Nice place. Only thing would be to have a couple of floor mats to keep from tracking dirt around. Did not find the broom and swiffer until the last couple of days (was behind the refrigerator) and there wasn't a dust pan. Even though the floor inside was clean, the patio floor was dirty because of being outside.

Wouldn't Recommend Staying At Complex

Couldn't check in timely because it hadn't been cleaned yet; but, they worked hard to get it done. Immediately ran the dishwasher to clean dishes for our use - it backed up in sink. Ran disposal to help it go down, but a ton of food came up instead - DISGUSTING! No hot water because it's a tiny, hidden water heater under the sink! Two bathrooms for nothing-only one can shower at a time and you need to let water heat up in between. No help with sink until next day, so we had to go out to eat, even though we had groceries for dinner. Had to call again next day to get it unclogged. Maintenance saw faucet broken; came in next day while we weren't in unit to fix. No a/c so it gets really hot with the Kona heat. Wooden building so front bedroom hard to sleep with people walking/running right outside window. Noise from street at all hours of the night (not unit's fault) also makes it hard to sleep. Master bedroom is closed by sliding doors, so privacy is an issue if not staying with only family. BBQ's aren't maintained either. Only reason we chose this location is the ability to park two cars, although parking lot is a mess, it did it's job. We left the unit three days early as we had had enough. The "host" or "property manager" is not in Hawaii, so it's an absolute pain to deal with problems. No supplies at all so you have to provide everything yourself. This is like a hotel that doesn't provide hotel amenities (i.e., 24/7 assistance when problems arise.)

Great spot in Kona

This is a comfy unit in a great location in Kona. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would consider it again in the future as we come to the Big Island every couple years. The views are spectacular from the spacious lanai, and having 2 bathrooms and the extra bedroom space was great. There is an elevator halfway down the building and luggage carts available so the 4th floor location worked fine for us when we needed to bring our Costco groceries, bags, etc... up to the unit. The location is ideal as we were not too close to the busy Kona town center, but the beaches, markets, and restaurants were nearby for a walk or a short drive. We cooked meals on-site several times, and the grills located down next to the water were well maintained and clean. There are folding chairs and some beach amenities available as well which came in handy. The kitchen is pretty well appointed but you may need to bring salt/pepper/spices to prepare your meals. As noted this unit does not have A/C and the afternoon sun can be pretty warm. We were able to use the sun shades and the 2 fans provided to keep the place cool, so it was fine, but if you need to be in air conditioning you might not be happy here. Additionally, the king bed mattress probably needs to be replaced. There is a noticeable "dent" on the bathroom side of it. We used some of the extra sheets provided in the unit to fill it in and that worked to flatten it out to some extent. All-in-all, this was a great home base for our vacation.

Great Location

The matress in the master bedroom needs replaced. It is awful-very obvious that it is old and that many people have slept on it. Bumps and huge body digits. Get a new onr and this rental is a 10

Home base for family with teens

I think the condo and it’s listing were pretty accurate. I am new to using VRBO and Vacasa so I didn’t know the policy on supplies at the condo. (We bought lots of food but needed extra toilet paper the last day which is not usually provided) The on site staff were very nice and even replaced a malfunctioning microwave. I slept on the pull-out couch which was decent. The fan system kept the place pretty cool except in the smallest room but extra fans were provided. There were also beach/pool items like pool noodles, straw mats and an umbrella. The main TV was big but awkwardly placed. Great spot for day trips and watching surfers in the beach!

Great view and location

View from balcony is fantastic with surfers coming out daily to ride the waves. Was a good base location for exploring the island. There is not a sandy beach here (January), but we enjoyed exploring the tide pools and wading out in the shallower areas with water shoes. The pool and jacuzzi (very small) is nice. Downsides are a lot of street noise for the back bedroom, lack of cooking pans in good shape, and a cumbersome door lock. There is no AC but the place can cool down quickly with the fans and opening up windows/doors.

Master bedroom wonderful, second bedroom street noise

My husband and I had stayed here a few years back for a lot less money. I guess Covid pricing had something to do with our recent visit; it was still as low as I could find for a water view. The primary downside is that the street-side bedroom has traffic noise all night long--where are people going at 3AM in a small town in the middle of nowhere?--and light pours in from the corridor. Probably not an issue for kids, but I had trouble.

Beautiful location—not so clean property

The location and overall aesthetics of the property were very nice. Great view of the ocean from the balcony! Unfortunately there were area of the condo that needed some attention. Mold in the shower, dust bunnies, dirty towel and water bottle left from previous guest . Checkin was at 4:00 due to new “extensive cleaning procedures due to COVID”. However there were some over sites and general maintenance that I would have expected to have been better for this price.
