"Kona Sunset House" on the Famous Walua Road Running Trail is a spectacular property for the perfect Hawaii Vacation.
First and Foremost, the property has unsurpassed Ocean Sunset views. Located in a quiet upscale neighborhood on the Walua bike and walking path just minutes from Downtown Kona. Above the heat at approximately five hundred foot elevation where the cool breezes create a perfect climate. The center of the home features a great open space of living and dining with bedrooms located at both ends of the common area, great for multiple couples wanting privacy. Fantastic views are seen from kitchen, living room, master and Bedroom two, adjacent to the Lanai.

The Fully Equipped kitchen includes: bamboo cabinets, granite counters, tile floors and excellent appliances.

The Full Length lanai is wonderfully furnished with additional table and chairs for out-door dining, futon, deck chairs and bistro set for all day enjoyment.

A Master Bedroom with island decor that connects to the Lanai, includes a solid mahogany four post king size bed, flat screen tv, A large custom tile walk-in shower and granite counter sink.

Bedroom#2 has a solid teak queen size opium bed and private entrance to the lanai too.

Bedroom#3 has the option of 2 twin beds that can be made into one King upon request!

There is a Safe now available for guests to use! The owners appreciate guest feedback!

The Large private pool has fully landscaped grounds really makes this property feel like paradise. This is a very clean and comfortable home. Sit back and watch the palms sway in the sunset or take a snooze to the sound of exotic birds singing.

Lovely place with some drawbacks

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The home is in a nice residential area next to a walking trail and just a short drive to Kailua-Kona town. The outdoor deck offers beautiful sunsets over the pool and backyard, with ocean views. While the pool was unheated and a bit chilly, we still enjoyed it.However, some issues left a bad impression:- The check-in process was inconvenient, requiring an in-person meeting instead of keyless entry- Cleanliness was a concern—we were horrified to find our mattress pads and pillows covered with old stains of bodily fluids. When we sent a message with photos, management simply responded that they would "pass along" our concerns to the owner- Basic supplies, such as trash bags and detergent, were limited to a small starter pack, requiring us to purchase more. When we asked management for more, we were told per our contract that was all they would provide. This felt unnecessary given that we paid almost 7,000 for our stay. And why discourage guests from cleaning?-Communication from management was not always friendly, including a text threatening a fine for not bringing the trash can to the street, despite us being unaware of the requirement. After checkout, management asked if we had concerns we wanted to address before posting a review, which felt more like reputation management than genuine concern.Despite this, we enjoyed the location and views. These are easily corrected issues and if fixed, I would wholeheartedly recommend this home!

Awesome sunset house

Super place. Location, amenities, and view all 5 stars. Only suggestion is to replace the pots and pans (non-stick all thoroughly abused by people and scratched to death & are now toxic to use).

Family Paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kona Sunset House. The lanai and sunset views were amazing! Honestly, some of our most relaxing times were chilling at the pool, surrounded by all the tropical trees & plants; watching the birds and lizards. The only complaint was how warm the house would get from the sun light in the kitchen during the day and then it was difficult to get the house cooled down before bed (even with all the fans going).

Clean and close to town

House is clean and in a great neighborhood. Appliances could use an update but everything works. No AC but it would have only been barely needed anyway. The sweeping ocean views off the large lana’i are really amazing

Fabulous sunset view!! We loved our stay. We used the kitchen daily. The outdoor equipment was VERY helpful. I was worried about no air conditioning but we were very comfortable in the evenings.

Perfect for relaxing and exploring the big island

This place was great! It's central location allowed us to explore all around the island. The terrace view was spectacular and it's the perfect place to relax in the cool breeze and read a book. The pool area was fantastic. The pool itself was very large, tons of seating and it felt like a secluded jungle. If you wanted to head down to the water, the closest beach is a 10 min drive (or 30 min walk) down the hill. Our favorite activity was an early morning hike down to captain cook monument for some of the best snorkeling I've ever had. I would definitely come again. Cheers!

We loved everything about the Sunset house! It was roomy, had everything we needed for 6 people staying a week. We loved the pool and the Lanai, the view can't be beat. Highly recommend staying here!

Great all around!

Stayed for 4 days on the Kona side of the island with my family. Loved the home. The views were stunning!!! Breakfast and dinner on the balcony or cooling off in the pool! Can’t say enough good things.

Great place. We loved it.

Loved the property. A little warm, but plenty of fans and windows to keep it cool. Pool was great, with the exception of the neighbor to the north. 20 year old, two 48 year olds, and a 70 year old cannot make that much noise. Would hate to have kids. Thank God SHE'S MOVING. Other than that it was a great place. Would stay again. Thanks Blake, and Ellen. We had a wonderful stay.

Amazing Views!

House was great! amazing views! Great location. Comfortable breeze. IT has everything you need. Pool was great! The neighbor to the north is extremely sensitive to noise. She will yell at you. Normal conversations and splashing does carry. This house may not be the right one if you have young kids (or older kids) who are loud outside.

Kona Paradise

The Kona Sunset Home has been our go to place for annual winter sun breaks for years. Comfortable, beautiful ocean views/sunsets and dinning on the Lana. The pool, master suite and workable kitchen are truly a bonus to this home in a quiet neighborhood. I always spend a few days reading at the pool or on the Lana in between beach visits. A wonderful home to relax and enjoy the bounty Kona has to offer.

Wonderful stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed are stay in this lovely house. The Lanai was by far our favourite area of the house. Great views, great location and only a $12 Uber ride into Kona. The pool is refreshing after a long day. My only comment would be that a light be installed over the BBQ as others have mentioned, we generally ate around 8:00 pm and it is dark! Would stay there again.
