We took a last-minute trip from the PNW to meet up with some friends for 5 days who were located about 15 minutes south of this location. The images online accurately depict the unit. The ocean views & sounds, sunsets, dolphins, were just gorgeous! Coffee and breakfast on the lanai were lovelyâŠviews and location were perfect; it was very quiet! We would book again in the non-summer months.
Things we loved:
This place had literally everything we needed to make our trip effortless. There were beach towels, a beach umbrella, beach chairs, a cooler, ice packs prepared in the freezer, shampoo/conditioner/body wash/ feminine products, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, all sorts of cleaning supplies, safe in master, etc. The beds are firm, there are plenty of pillows, and the sheets are on the softer side. The kitchen was well stocked, and while we purchased all of our groceries, the only thing missing for our needs was scissors. Recycling was next to trash bin, which was about 7 parking spots down from the unit. Pool/volleyball/bbq were all conveniently located. Grocery store, book store, and drug store were a 10 min walk or 2 min driveâŠsame with the nearest beach â 5 min drive or ~15 min walk. I feel like there is more to add here that Iâm forgettingâŠ
Things of note:
It was the first time we had been to HI in the summer, so while we did book it knowing there wasnât any AC, we underestimated the benefit of having AC (we went from 60-degree weather to 80/85-degree weather). That was the primary thing I would've changed about this place. The ocean breeze helped make the temperature in the unit tolerable from about 8/9 pm to about 10:30/11 am. Although we didn't stay in the unit during the day, it was noticeably warm by the time we were leaving each day. The bedroom with the two twin beds was the warmest area, but the fans got the kids through the night. This was a learning experience for us. The secondary thing I wouldâve changed is the functionality of the sliding glass and screen doors. They were tricky to open/close, and we had to learn how to open themâŠnot hard, just a little irritating. The binder in the living room has conflicting information about rules, and some of the recommendations (e.g. restaurants, but the parks/beach information seemed relevant) are outdated.
