Sandy Feet Retreat - Enjoy a Classic Kiwi Batch with Ocean and Mountain Views

Sandy Feat is a well-loved classic New Zealand Batch, situated with mountain and ocean views. It is less than a five-minute stroll to the beach and a 5-minute drive (30-minute walk) to downtown Kaikoura. There is a movie theater and additional eateries within a 15-minute walk.

The house has a spacious and comfortable living room with a fireplace for heating and sliding doors onto a large deck. An outdoor table and chairs are provided for enjoying the view. There is a fully equipt kitchen. There is one bathroom with a shower and bathtub and a separate toilet adjacent. The house has 3 rooms with a king bed in one, a queen bed in another, and two single beds in the smaller third room. The house has a relaxed Kiwi batch feel that is family-friendly

Please bring your own linen, towels, and tea towels. Alternatively, these can be provided for an additional cost of $100 per stay. Please make this request at the time of booking so we can ensure these are supplied for your arrival. As this is a family-run batch, we greatly appreciate your help in keeping 'Sandy Feet' clean and tidy. :)

Everything was provided (bedding and towels), and kitchen had everything. The location was perfect, quiet and has great views. The bush backyard was a real bonus.

lovely view, comfortable, very old fashioned

The views of the water and mountains from the deck were fabulous. Comfortable rooms and bed. We had not expected the low level of tech - no wifi, no television. There is a television set but it does not work for broadcast or pay TV, only plays DVDs. Other appliances came from last century. This is according to the guide in the living room traditional for a NZ batch. Lots of rules and instructions - felt like going back to way things ran in the 1960s. Some, like "take your rubbish and recycling home with you", are really not appropriate for international guests. This property would probably work fine for kiwis who want a nostalgic family experience. Hosts were considerate and nice, communicated well, but appeared out of their depth.

Spacious with view of beach and mountains

We didn’t want to leave, this bach had everything we needed with the exception of Wi-Fi which would have been useful for booking the whale watch, dolphin encounter and keep up with emails from the UK. The balcony was an added extra and was brilliant for watching the sun come up and chilling out. A very welcoming and well equipped bach. Thank you

Nostalgic Vibes

As soon as you walk in it was like we were walking into our Nana's Bach. Very cosy warm vibe and instantly felt comfortable. My daughter loved all the games n books and she was amazed by the DVD player â˜ș. Had everything we needed in the kitchen, which helped as we did alot of cooking from the seafood we caught just a walk away.

We all adore-a Kaikoura

What a great bach! A stroll to the sea, a short walk to shops and restaurants, with the peninsular walk starting just behind the house. The location couldn’t be much better. We loved the deck for the sun in the morning, the kids loved the beds and the large section to explore, and it overall exceeded expectations. The fire had wood ready as if the owners knew the Southerly was due Saturday night, and the view of snow dusted mountains the following morning was fantastic to enjoy over our coffee. Overall a great stay in value for money accommodation that ticked all the boxes.
