Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit is so darling and is in the most lovely location! Right outside the lanai is a Honu sanctuary. The unit was very comfortable for my daughter and I. The king bed in the bedroom was comfy and had A/C. My (23yo) daughter slept on the pull out sofa to listen to the waves every night and she said it was comfortable.The ONLY real criticism would be, the floors needed to be MOPPED. Our feet were kind of grungy walking around barefoot. Everything else was clean.

Anniversary stay

Clean and beautiful, peaceful with a breathtaking view. We could stay again and recommend this little slice of paradise. Lost only two stars only with Communication to property manager related to questions we had regarding television issues. But overall it was an amazing stay 😊

Incredible View!

This was our 3rd time staying at Kuleana, in 3 different condos. We always have a wonderful time! Unit 716 had an incredible view on the south end of the property. We watched whales jumping and turtles frolicking right from our patio! This property is always so quiet and the people so friendly. As always, the grounds and pool are meticulously maintained. We look forward to returning!

Excellent Location

We loved our stay here! It is small and perfect for two people. It is right on the beach and we saw sea turtles every day. Such an amazing experience. The apartment was clean and had everything that we need. Staying here was a dream. It was an end unit with no one on top of us. We never heard the person below or next to us. Would 100% book this unit again.

A Little Slice of Heaven!

We really really enjoyed our stay at the Kuleana Resort! This condo is super clean, and looks out to the little beach which is so pretty (like a postcard!)! My only complaint was lack of AC in the living room/kitchen area. We survived it and we were out exploring so much we really didn’t spend much time in the condo anyway. The bedroom is very cool and comfortable! I would absolutely stay here again and felt we made a great choice! It is close to everything ( shopping, Front Street (very cool place to eat and shop!) Mahalo for everything! 🌾đŸŒșđŸŒŒđŸ„â€â™‚ïžâ›±

Reviewer Comments: The condo was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked (needed salt & pepper), air conditioning worked extremely well,the shower was a great size, the location was overlooking the beach and we watched the surf and turtles.Able to catch the city bus to towns north and south or walk south to the little town. The grounds were lovely and we loved the heated pool. It really was outstanding and quite frankly, we can be hard to please. We did complain to each other that the television was too small...maybe we're just spoiled.

We appreciated the beach chairs to take on our snorkeling trips, Kapalua Bay and Airport Beach were great! We do miss the beach that used to be in front of the condos, it’s just rocks now. But again, the view is amazing! We would definitely stay in this unit again!

Other than these, things were great!

Relaxing Getaway

Kuleana Resort is definitely a gem in my book. Stayed here with my mother-in law and 4yr. old son. Unit 716 itself is clean and cozy; nothing too fancy, but you’re in Maui everything outside is beautiful enough so leave your complaining for another day. Located in a great area with nearby shopping and playground for little ones, a bus stop right in front of the resort if you really needed. Waking up to the view of the ocean everyday couldn’t have been better. The sounds of waves crashing was so peaceful and relaxing. The unit is well stocked with all essentials, extra pillows and blankets, plenty of towels and toiletries, including blender, toaster, and all cooking, baking dishes and utensils in the kitchen.(except spices, but we figured) even had some boogie boards and nice beach chairs to take down to the property’s cozy sandy beach. The AC unit is located in the bedroom and acted as a great sound machine for my little guy. My MIL said the pullout couch was quite comfortable, no complaints. We wish the unit would have had some sort of drying rack for towels and swim wear at the end of each day for outside on the patio since there was a perfect breeze to dry them all, however the patio chairs did the same job okay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here very much and can’t wait to return! Mahalo for the lovely home away from home 😊 -Angelina

The condo is nice as described, but if you are wanting to sit on the patio and watch the whales, not likely. There is a large tree blocking your view (not the owners fault but I would have liked to know the view was "obstructed"). Great for turtle watching however. My email to the property owner about switching to another unit went unanswered, as did my message prior to our arrival inquiring if the unit had beach chairs, cooler, etc. (It did which was appreciated, but we ALMOST bought all that at Costco when we landed). We've stayed at Kuleana several times including when our kids were young. Not so family friendly anymore. There are a couple full-timers that call security for the slightest noise - security banged on our door 2 minutes after quiet hours because we were talking on our deck. Four 70-year olds playing a dice game beside the pool were told by security to "roll the dice quieter". Kuleana must be Hawaiian for "No fun allowed". We still love it and MIGHT return, but not until exploring other options first.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: To begin, the view from the lanai' is beautiful. It directly overlooks the rocky beach (sometimes sandy beach dependent on the tide) where we watched numerous sea turtles and the occasional whale spout not too far from shore. The sunsets over Lanai' were stunning. Now on the the bad - The parking spaces are ridiculously small. If you park where the driver can exit the vehicle, the passenger can't open the door. Thus necessitating the passenger get out IN THE RAIN before parking. The unit itself is dated and in need of a renovation. Especially the bathroom and shower. There is massive amounts of black mold growing in the grout and I would hate to see what's behind the shower tiles as it is clear that water has been leaching into the walls for a LONG time. As far as amenities and kitchen equipment, the unit is pretty sparse.Location was pretty good, but not within walking distance of anything.

Location is nice

The property manager was nice and responsive. The view and location of the condo are fantastic. We’ve been staying at Kuleana for 10 years or so, however, and this condo was our least favorite. The lack of tlc and effort put into the condo is evident. The furniture is uncomfortable and worn, the bedding and linens are worn and could use updating.The owners appear to put little effort into the condo and appear to use items that they get from thrift stores for their guests. Upon our arrival the place appeared clean however the bottoms of our feet were dirty after walking barefoot on the floors, a bathroom drawer had hair in it, the stove top had food splatter and the smoke detector was beeping. Upon contacting the property manager housekeeping returned and cleaned up the aforementioned. Upon check out maintenance had yet to replace the battery in the smoke detector. Throughout our stay the condo had an odor to it which smelled like cigarette smoke and old gas, although the owners are non-smokers, reportedly. For the cost of renting this place; all of that is unacceptable. Although this is not the owner or property manager’s fault there was another renter that was very obnoxious for most of the nights we rented. He parked right below our bedroom window and would let his jeep idle for 20-30 minutes and would then rev his jeep’s engine every time he came and went from the property; waking us up (3 am) and disturbing the peace. We would not rent this condo again!

Just Like the Description

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit is very much as depicted. It is a lovely corner unit with a private lanai overlooking the ocean. The unit was clean and well maintained. Petals from the flowering trees did fall on the lanai and little flies will sneak in if care is not taken to keep the screens shut tight. The unit could get hot when closed up for the day but cooled quickly when all the doors and windows were opened. The AC in the bedroom ensures a good nights sleep. The unit is centrally located to well known beaches. We snorkeled at Honolua Bay, Kapalua Bay, and both Kaanapali beaches. Kapalua was not only a great beach but the snorkeling was great out along either reef. The beach off the unit is small but quite nice. At any given time you can see turtles for the lanai. I have never seen so many snorkeling. The rocks to the right of the image attracts them and I counted more than a dozen in a few minutes. It was pretty good snorkeling right out front. The ocean is so close it can actually get pretty loud at times, although it is pretty quite from the bedroom. Although the unit is close to the street only the occasional Harley can be heard. One is always torn advertising such an amazing place you want to keep for yourself. I will definitely be back. Mahalo

Beautiful and relaxing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at Kuleana. We love the gated property with private access to the beach and snorkeling. The snorkeling is fantastic. The unit is simple, but it has everything you need for comfort and relaxation. It is clean and updated. The air conditioner in the bedroom is loud, but it was very nice to cool down the room before going to bed. The fan kept it cool enough thru the night. We enjoyed meals on the lanai. Kitchen is stacked. We enjoyed the lawn chairs provided for sunsets on the lawn outside. The king bed is very comfortable. My mom slept on the fold out couch and she reported sleeping very well, enjoying the ocean sounds. We saw lots of turtles right outside feeding along the lava rocks. Beautiful birds too and my favorite plumeria tree. Neighbors are considerate and it is a very quiet place. We love it!!!

Reviewer Comments: The vacation rental experience was great, as usual, except for one thing : - The floor was really dirty.We wouldn't usually care for that, but we have a little baby of 9 months travelling with us. Also, we rented another unit the week after (501) and that one was perfectly clean.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an excellent week staying at Kuleana Resort. The location was perfect. Hearing the waves crash against the shore was heavenly. The beach wasn’t too crowded and the guests/owners were all welcoming. The condo has a nice breeze that flows through. The air conditioner helped us to sleep comfortably and we didn’t notice any traffic noise. The condo was clean and all questions were answered with a smile by the staff. I will definitely come back.

Great Location But Unit Needs Some TLC
