This place was quite convenient for being in the edge of town but it is right on the ring road with the noise that brings. To get to it you go up some pokey stairs. The room was ok, certainly not deluxe by any stretch. Hot water didnât work from the sinks but at least there was hot water in the shower. The decor was poor, particularly the bathroom, where no effort had been made to sand down surfaces prior to painting. Also the lino had a lump in it and the sash window above the kitchen sink had a broken handle making it extremely difficult to open. This was a problem as there was no aircon or even a fan to get some air moving so the room was hot! A kitchen unit had a handle hanging down and thrrr was no cupboard or sideboard to put anything - had to use the ironing board as a shelf. Finally the small coffee table was really wobbly - had a look and none of the screws had been tightened up. All in all tolerable if you just need a bed for the night. Oh I forgot, they sent me the wrong code for the bedroom door on Expedia so I was struggling to get in and they didnât answer their phone or messages. However, bizarrely I noticed that a previous message on whatsapp did have the correct code! Also there is a ÂŁ100 refundable deposit you need to pay - although difficult to see what you could damage for that in that place.
The admin enforces rules that donât apply to herself we canât speak at a normal volume past 11pm yet she would shout at her son at 7am in the morning for school.
she is extremely rude no manners she interrupted our night many times for example we were having sexual intercouse and sheâd knock on our door so basically no one can have sex in the hotel at night time maybe early morning would be better for her -__-
when i was speaking to her calmly she slammed the door on my face which i found extremely rude she will mess up the hotels reputation around the area if she continues this way i even spoke to other residents staying over to see if it was the same and they told me yes how sheâs disrespectful and has no social manners.
please fix this quickly you must talk with her about the situation or itâll only get worse with the reputation of the hotel
On the way to Huddersfield we received a message and a phone call that there had been a leak and they couldnât accommodate us. Fine, these things happen, but despite numerous messages and hotels.com trying to get in touch with them, they have refused to refund me. Letting everyone know about the practices of this company. Luckily I did receive the deposit back. Please avoid this company.
We ended up driving home late at night instead.
as soon as we arrived at the property we was met with the admin telling us to stop making noise the signs said to be quiet at 11PM and it was only 8PM
she has made the rules but they donât apply to her she was shouting at her son early in the morning around 7am - 8am / she slams the doors going back and forth down the stairs from the top floor
she was very rude for no reason banged on our door 5 times in our stay telling us we basically have to whisper to communicate across the room.
there are a lot of bars to drink at around the area so the fact sheâd expect customers to whisper while theyâre under the influence is too much of an inconvenience
she disturbed our time together made us feel like it was a waste of money if sheâs continues to be like this sheâll ruin the reputation of the hotel
she was making it really clear that she lived there and tried use her position of being an admin to try threaten us.
i understand it may be annoying to live in an apartment where guest make noise but itâs right in city centre iâve paid the money required to have the right to communicate how i want and not whisper across the room while dishes are being washed
honestly she ruined our whole experience if you asked other customers i guarantee theyâd agree with what iâm saying
literally first day soon as we arrived at the property she came out her door complaining about the noise when we wasnât even loud
Booked at last moment and didnt get code to open door , was seat on the floor , ready to sleep by the room door as no anwser to phone or email , finily was sorted with another hotel by Hotels.com operator .
It was 1am and I was totally exhausted on that day , do not book from that guys if you do not have plan B
The place is nice however a bit annoying, as the room was right next to a building where all you can hear all day is a loud drone of an extractor fan and on top of that the toilet seat wasn't bolted down however these were quite minor.
The reason I'm extremely angry is they ask for a damage deposit, after paying it you'll get a email stating "it'll be refunded up to 7 days of leaving the property" it's now day 9, I have not received it back nor heard anything, I have tried emailing, calling and texting... And have not heard anything except when I called getting a text responding with "Sorry, I can't talk right now" which they still haven't responded in anyway after the call and text!
Save yourself an extra ÂŁ100 and book elsewhere.
