The condition of the unit was very disappointing. The blinds were in disrepair, the drapes in the bedroom was very worn with light filtering through, carpet stains and multitude of nicks & peeling paint.

Great location and suite facing front with view. Suite had many stains on carpets and drapes. Had beach chairs which was a plus. Outfitted well. Some damage to walls doors and carpets but didn’t affect our stay. Location close to beach and restaurants

We stayed 30 days and were quite comfortable here. It had everything we needed. Great location and at the quieter end of Waikiki.

It wasn’t cleaned very well. The carpet and curtains had a lot of stains on it. The sofa bed was dirty, had to put a sheet over it. Location was great though.

Generally an enjoyable stay. Location, convenience & affordability were our focus. It met focus.

Pool was too cold. Sleeper sofa was worst ever encountered & needs to be replaced. Pillows on beds are flat/cheap/worn out, need replaced. Cutting board in unit would be helpful. DVD player in unit would be nice. Bathroom fan did not work during our stay, if it’s present. Lanai is small but pleasant, Kitchenette was very nice. AC was excellent. Combo door lock entry very convenient. Free parking for guests is a nice touch. Location is of course very convenient.

The pull out bed was so hard the carpet needs deep cleaning. In need of new furniture! Not enough towels, toilet paper, nor trash bags left for week stay.

Almost perfect

We were really impressed with the size and overall style of the condo... especially for such a great price. The kitchen and bath were modern and well equiped. It has partial ocean and diamond head views. My only issue is that the windows in the bedroom were fairly low and had no safety locks. My 4 year old was able to open them and being right next to the bed, he could have easily fallen out if not supervised 100 percent of the time. There was an excellent safety lock on the sliding glass door, but not on the windows. I brought window locks just in case, but they did not fit the window and a permanently installed lock would have given me great piece of mind. Also, the water pressure in the bathroom sink was rather low. We would stay again if the window issue could be resolved.

Perfect location and all the amenities we needed. Only complaints, the pull-out sofa needs updating and the knives are incredibly dull. Aside from that, great stay and I would highly recommend this spot.

GREAT LOCATION FOR WAIKIKI

We thoroughly enjoyed our 11 days at the condo. It was very well equipped; beds were comfortable; plenty of towels and kitchen was nicely updated. The only negative we had is it is time to replace the couch in the living room.

Nicely updated 1 bedroom with great view of Diamond Head and a generous slice of ocean

We enjoyed our 31 day stay at the Waikiki Sunset. The location is great: a bus stop within 1/2 a block and 2 blocks to the beach. It's at the Kapiolani Park end of the strip, which tends to be a bit quieter, which was fine with us. The public parts of the building are due for new paint and flooring but the condo we rented on the 14th floor was very recently done over with granite countertops, new cupboards, flooring and paint. 2 double beds had good mattresses and bedding; new towels in bathroom and granite vanity. Landlord had left nice additional touches like fresh shampoo, brand new pots and pans, beach mats and a few other items. We still found we needed a few more basics so purchased and left there kitchen towels (to dry the dishes), oven mitt and pot holders, clothespins, scissors, boogie board. The only negative re the prooerty manager was that no one called to see if we needed anything, had arrived safely etc. And did not respond to an enquiry email I sent a few days before we left - I didn't know if we were expected to strip the beds, do any laundering of the sheets and towels etc. So in lieu of a response we erred on the safe side and washed everything. We've been home 4 days now and still haven't heard from Kaina Realty regarding my questions ( moot now) or how and when our cleaning deposit will be returned. Despite this, I must admit the lack of intrusion was nice and presume a phonecall rather than an email may have elicited a timely response. The couch / sofabed had been recovered but the cushions kept sliding into the frame so it's soon time for some new furniture but it wasn't too bad. We noticed other units had the sa e furniture so it's likely a mass replacement will be done sometime in the future. The unit is very quiet inside, except for the odd noise from the hall. We would stay there again. It's a bargain in a market that's rising. Waiting until a few days before takeoff to book brought the price down from $138. Per day to $99 which was excellent value for a lengthy stay. Mahalo for a lovely little escape from reality.
