Food and service amazing (pizzas a must!)
Bathroom in room lovely
Bedroom good size and spacious unfortunately bed was already broken before we arrived, whilst staff members did all they could to resolve the issue with a temporary fix, as they were fully booked it resulted in very uncomfortable night sleep before our ascent up scarfell pike, this wouldnât put us off staying again as location was lovely. Hopefully rooms will be better inspected going forward to ensure fit for purpose.
We stayed for one night at the Woolpack. Lovely location, nice food, very comfy beds.
Our only downside was breakfast. It starts at 0800am, a few guests had arrived then and sat down. Staff did not seem ready. Still bringing out juice, milk, glasses etcâŠ
Did not take food order until nealy 0815 and the food did not arrive until 0845.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was great - breakfast is a belly filler and the hand made pizzas were very tasty.
Stayed for 2 nights at a room rate of ÂŁ100 per night, plus the dog for an extra ÂŁ5 per night. Disappointed that it wasnât made clear that the breakfast was charge at an additional cost of ÂŁ15 per person each day and this wasnât displayed or shown on any documentation. The second night stay was disrupted by a hen party staying in the pods next door as part of the overall site and the music was loud, with sirens and attendees screaming over microphones until just after midnight, disrupting our stay.
Had a good days walking around the local area.
Sadly - wonât return.
We had a really lovely stay. The food was very nice. There is so much to do at the Woolpack. They have lots of games such as darts and pool. It is incredibly homely. We visited in the winter and we were made very welcome.
Excellent service at our 4th stay. Foods brilliant and theres alway good beer and gins etc at the log fire heated bars. Room was warm and bed really nice. Hot shower was also good with its downpour in a jungle type fittings. Room2, right by the stairs but not at all noisy. Weather was wintery but its winter... wasdale is a great place and just round the corner. Avoid langdale pass, the tarmac is appalling potholed and none existent in places, i know it like the back of.my.hand. wrynose was still fab though and at 5pm on valentine's day.. there was no other traffic.
