Welcome to 3 Starboard Tack in Palmetto Dunes! This private, expansive oasis is nestled in a peaceful community on the golf course and is perfect for those seeking relaxation and seclusion.

Accommodations:
The main-level master suite features a king bed, private bath with Jacuzzi and shower, and deck access with pool and golf views. Also on this floor: one bedroom with twin beds and another with a king bed. Upstairs, a large landing includes a sofa bed, while the fourth bedroom offers two queen beds and a private bath with a garden tub and shower.

Living Spaces:
The dining room seats eight at a white-washed pine table, with a nearby eat-in bar for three. The living area features cathedral ceilings, a cozy sectional, oversized chairs, and a game table. Downstairs, the game room offers tons of family fun with Ping Pong, Jenga, and Corn Hole!

Outdoor:
Step outside to a brand-new pool deck featuring a spacious pool/spa and ample seating, including four chaises, four chairs, and two small tables. Start your day with coffee at the bistro set for four while soaking in stunning golf course views.

We have been vacationing in this area for over 15 years, and unfortunately, this was by far our most disappointing rental experience.To start with the positives: the house itself was spacious and in a great location. It is clear the owners want it to be a home fit for families. However, the experience with the rental company was less than ideal and it did not seem that they were keeping the best care of it. The property had a constant damp, musty smell, and our young daughter’s bathroom in particular had a strong mildew stench from the shower curtain that made it unpleasant to use. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed a dead roach in the entryway, and later—unbelievably—we found a live roach in our 6-month-old daughter’s crib. This was deeply unsettling and unacceptable. When we immediately raised these concerns with the property management company, they were dismissive and unhelpful. We pointed out that there were roaches all over the receptacle room inside the house, but management brushed it off, telling us “roaches happen” and “it’s just an insect.” This lack of accountability and concern for guest comfort and safety was incredibly frustrating. The only offer was to “spray the property” which we declined given our daughters’ ages. We ultimately checked out early and cut our vacation short. After years of wonderful stays in this area, this experience was subpar and has made us seriously reconsider booking with this company again.

This was our second stay in this home, and we'd be happy to come back. It provided plenty of room for the 9 of us, and is very well appointed. We enjoyed the pool, the golf course views and convenient location. We'll be back!!

Beautiful House & Pool

This was a beautiful house for our family of 6 adults and 1 infant. The bedrooms were perfect and the pool was refreshing on the hot 90 degree days! I would mention that the game room is in the basement, but it is not air-conditioned with the rest of the house. We also found a couple cockroaches (alive, but were dying from whatever maintenance spray that was used). Our only wish was a net to prevent leaves from falling in the pool all the time. Although, we understand why there is not because the exterior is just so beautiful to ruin by netting. This posting was advertised that the parking passes would be mailed to us, if booked in advance. We booked months in advance and still had to pick up our car passes. Not a huge deal, but was not accurate to what was advertised.

BEAUTIFUL

Thank you to the home owner and property management team. All was wonderful, clean, and grand. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. We treated this beautiful home as if it was our own and took great care while we stayed. Peaceful and quiet. Perfect Thanksgiving getaway.

The online listing does not do this property justice. It is in a great location of Palmetto Dunes - the kids loved riding their bikes to the General Store and Shelter Cove. This is the best equipped rental we have ever stayed in
anywhere. Anything you could possibly need in the kitchen (and outdoor grill) made Thanksgiving a breeze. Spacious enough to fit extended family. We loved it & will definitely be back!

Great stay!

We loved our stay at 3 Starboard Tack! The house had everything we needed. We have never stayed in a rental property with such a well-stocked kitchen. The ping pong table provided hours of fun. I highly recommend renting bikes with a cart to get the beach. It’s a very quick bike ride and you can bring your bikes on to the beach with you. Plantation Dunes is a very nice community and if we go back to Hilton Head, we would rent this property again.

Excellent property

Extremely well furnished and most comfortable house. The kitchen, in particular, was better equipped than any other VRBO property we've ever rented. The location was quite convenient and very quiet. No fault of the owner or VRBO, but we don't enjoy being paired with strangers when playing golf, which is standard practice at the better Hilton Head courses, so doubt we'll return.

Great stay in Palmetto Dunes

This was our first time staying in Palmetto Dunes and the first time to HH for many. The house was very comfortable and spread our nicely so we didn’t feel crowded at all. The loft upstairs was great for the kids as was the pool room downstairs. We also loved the ping pong table. Kitchen was well equipped with ample seating for all guests. Walk to the beach was about 10 minutes. Highly recommend getting a beach cart. We also rode bikes to the beach which was easy the beach was large and very private. Kids even brought kids to where we were sitting and there was plenty of room. The closest people in the beach were 25 feet away so not crowded at all like some of the public beach areas. Also the waves were very calm (I didn’t realize this about HH) and beaches were huge in the afternoon when we go (we get there around 12). One negative was that you had to pay extra for the hot tub. We didn’t end up turning it on. Overall - we all loved the house and had a great time!

Isolated Beach / Beautiful Home

Pictures are very accurate. Very private with refreshing pool. Quiet area. The walk to the beach was about 10 minutes and a bit challenging in heat carting all the beach gear - but found we could drop off some of our party with the gear closer to beach which made the walk much more bearable. And it was certainly worth it as the beach was beautiful with lots of space to spread out from the few other beach goers that were there. Hilton Head Properties very responsive.
