Newly renovated! Relax with the whole family. Peace, privacy, and proximity to the outdoors, world-class shopping, and dining await at this charming Highlands vacation rental in the Mirror Lake neighborhood. Relax in the renovated 2-bedroom, 2-bath living space or step outside to fire up the grill and fire pit for a BBQ. Head about 1 mile into town via the Highlands Greenway and explore local restaurants, shops, and entertainment. A unique landscape of waterfalls, trails, and mountain peaks.

We welcome well-behaved pets (2 dogs maximum)! VRBO does not collect the pet fee at the time of booking, therefore, please plan to pay the $125 pet fee/stay when you sign the Rental Agreement after booking.

This was our 3rd stay at Hidden Bear and we always love it! we've stayed during the Summer, Fall and Winter, and each season has been beautiful. Hidden Bear tucked into the woods in a quiet neighborhood setting in the Mirror Lake area. It's super close to town with quick access to main roads to venture to hikes, shopping, dining, etc. The house is beautiful, very clean, with updated decor, and the hosts were very easy to communicate with and super friendly and accommodating. I have nothing but great things to say about this retreat-type house and our experience.

Highlands comfort

Great property just a couple of minutes to Highlands. Check in was easy, kitchen well stocked (bring your own coffee/keurig pods), house was very clean, nice updates, beautiful setting, quiet and lovely neighborhood. Even had a bear in the backyard one day! Can’t really think of any downsides. It was great for our family of 3. 2 adults and a 2 year old. Given the daybed/trundle in bedroom 2, not sure how comfortable it would be for 4 given the second bedroom is small. Overall great, great stay. Don’t have time to use the fire pit or cornhole provided but will make time next stay! Host very responsive with communication.

 about 2 minutes from downtown. Amazing host who checked on us. So clean and wonderful touches that made it comfortable and like home. What a retreat!!!! Our favorite place we have stayed in Highlands!

Stay in Highlands near downtown

Gorgeous neighborhood 5 minutes from downtown Highlands and close to lots of hiking. Home is small, but very nice, clean and comfy. Nice outside area in the back to sit outside. Great for 4 people. The hosts are very nice and easy to communicate with.

Expectations Exceeded

I have never done a VRBO and I wasn't sure what to expect. My wife chose the property and I was a little anxious about what we might get. As soon as we pulled in the driveway, I felt like maybe she had made a good choice. Then, I opened the door and WOW! What an amazing, cozy little home! Everything was clean and new and I immediately felt at home. Bree and Boyd (our hosts) were very clear and concise with instructions and protocol. They kept in touch just enough to let us know that if we needed anything, all we had to do was ask. The property itself is lovely as well, nestled on a hill with a spacious backyard with a firepit and adirondack chairs and a light string around the area that provided the perfect atmosphere for relaxing in the mountains. The other bonus was that the house is 5 minutes from downtown Highlands! We will definitely be back to stay at Hidden Bear!

My Stay

This was my second stay here. It is lovely and comfortable. The outdoor dining table and sitting area are a plus. So is the Webber gas grill. The house has been updated. The bathrooms and kitchen are very nice. I hope to return in the future.

Quick but memorable stay

We had a 2 night stay at Hidden Bear Cottage and loved it for our little family of 4. The cottage has been updated and was very comfortable for us. The kids loved running around in the backyard and we loved the fire pit and scenery. Close to town but still secluded. We will be back!

Enjoyed the property

We enjoyed this home. It was very convenient to Highlands and met our expectations based on the listing. It was clean, well equipped, located in a pretty location to enjoy the fall leaves. The size was perfect for us and our small dog. The owner checked on us during the stay and answered the very few questions we had. We would wholeheartedly recommend this house for a couple.
