Situated on a lovely and private 1.8 acres, this six bedroom, six and a half bath home was designed to embrace an extraordinary guest experience! From the unique architectural details to the high end and comfortable furnishings you will be delighted the moment you enter the door. Bring out your inner Chef and serve delicious meals from the fully equipped large kitchen or on the Weber gas grill! If cooking isn't on your agenda or if you are looking for a night out instead, you are moments from all of Highlands Five Star dining experiences. Enjoy time together around the dining table warmed by the gas fireplace. Dine outdoors in the lovely covered deck while a wood burning fire crackles in the fireplace. There are cozy seating areas throughout this expansive home for visiting or curling up with a good book. Plenty of areas to enjoy board games or puzzles on those rainy days. Every Bedroom in this home has its own private En-suite bath making it perfect for a group of friends with ultimate privacy! There is a complete home downstairs, including a full kitchen, so this property is perfect for a multi generational family as well. Everything needed for the perfect stay can be found on the main level so if a person with mobility issues is in your party they can still join in on all the fun!

This home has 3 levels with stairs. The upstairs or downstairs levels may not be appropriate for those with mobility issues.
You must be 25 to rent this house. This home is built for families and mature adult gatherings who can appreciate and respect the amazing architectural design and high end furnishings. Bachelor or bachelorette, fraternity or sorority parties are not accepted.
Please note, the fireplace on the lower level is not operational.

The location was perfect for our group of 6 couples. We could walk into town or hiking areas. There were many places to lounge. We loved the porch with fireplace and the property grounds.

We really enjoyed the property. The reason for the lower rating on cleanliness was because the deck was very dirty.The interior of the house was very clean and well stocked.It was a nice feature having shampoo, conditioner and body wash in all of the bathrooms. A comment was made about the high temperature of the hot water, stating that it could be hazardous for little children.

Great house in a perfect location!

We had 8 adults and 3 children under 4 years old. The house has 3 levels. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms each with it's own full bathroom. On the main floor there is one bedroom with its own full bathroom and there is also half bath. The main floor has a full kitchen, living room with TV, gas fireplace and dining area. There is a large covered deck adjoining the kitchen with an outdoor fireplace and TV. The kitchen has everything we needed, coffee makers, microwave, blender etc. There is a downstairs area that is fully equipped with a kitchen, sitting room with TV, washer/dryer and games for kids. There is also a bedroom with 2 full beds, 2 bunks and full bathroom. Outside there is a large backyard with lovely landscaping and walking paths which join the Nature Center. There is enough parking for 5 cars easily. The house handled our large crowd easily, it is a great house! The home is just past the Nature Center and across the street from Sunset Rock which is a relatively short hike. Definitely recommend the hike. The location is about 1/2 mile (or less) from Mountain Fresh Grocery store and there is a walking path across the street. Its an easy walk which we made many times. We loved this house and if our large group goes back to Highland's we hope to rent it again.

Floralia is an absolute gem!!

This home is absolutely stunning. We rented Floralia for our daughter's wedding in Highlands and our family of 7 plus a nanny were so incredibly comfortable. The home has it all- comfortable and private bedrooms each with its own bath, fully outfitted kitchen with top of the line everything. We walked to town several times and it's a 10 minute walk down a beautiful trail . Holly the house manager was so easy to contact and super responsive. Very professional and friendly. Highly recommend this home to anyone, we cannot wait to stay there again.

This was by far the BEST VRBO property I’ve ever stayed in. The house was clean, well stocked, and the photos did not do the listing justice. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, ample parking space. Outdoor spaces were BEAUTIFUL, we wish we got to use them more!

Highlands getaway

We loved our stay at Floralia! It is an amazing location to town, hikes, and the botanical center. The house was amazing for a large group! We loved the back porch with the fireplace- so cozy. The kitchen and pantry were stocked with everything you could possibly need. We also loved the property surrounding the house so much- the bridges, pond, and treehouse were a hit for the kids. We hope to be back!

Labor Day at Floralia

The beautiful Floralia estate provided the perfect home base for three generations of family to gather in the NC mountains that we all love. The vast grounds were beautiful, the home was impeccably decorated, and the location across from Sunset Rock was second to none. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon!

Perfect family vacation home with all you could want!

Three generations of our family gathered for a reunion but also a revisiting of Highlands- where until recently we had had a vacation home for 40 years. So we know the area very well and had high expectations- which were met by this lovely home, in a beautiful setting, that was a short walk to everything making the comings and goings of our group easy. The home was comfortable and well thought out - especially since we cooked in most nights, being a group of 12. We will definitely go back again!

Beautiful property and location

We LOVED our stay here. The house was very cozy and clean. The kids had the best time playing in the backyard and treehouse. We really enjoyed the mornings and evenings on the patio. So many wonderful memories were created and we hope to come back.

Magical stay

This house has everything and more! We stayed here with a total of 4 adults and 5 kids, ages 1-7. It was perfect in every way! Beautiful, clean, great location, and the surrounding property is just magical! I’m a big cook and it had everything I needed to prepare our meals. Can’t wait to come back!

Not great

A few things to be noted that I would have liked to know before booking this house. Cons: - house is located right off of a main road, this was not a huge deal but is worth noting. Also there aren’t any sidewalks so walking into Highlands wasn’t an option - house has a rodent problem - we returned home from a day of adventure to a rodent squirming on a trap we didn’t know existed and when I texted the manager the response was ‘thank you for letting us know, I’ll inform the owner’ I continued to ask if this was an ongoing problem and they acknowledged that it has been a problem in the past and did not suggest any type of remedy - check out time is listed as 10:00 am and the cleaning crew showed up at 9:00 and didn’t even wait for us to get out of the house before barging in and trying to clean around us -house has a musty feeling Pros: - The yard is beautiful and our children loved exploring the tree house and pond - the areas of the house that have been updated have nice furnishings I would not stay in this house again.
