This spacious and charming home boasts a great location, vibrant and comfortable furnishings, and all the necessities one could need in a vacation home. It's your own mountain paradise!

Lovely and lush walking trails start within 100 feet of the property. Venturing out, you'll discover an array of sights and scenes, as this home is nestled in the heart of beautiful and historic Laurel Park and five minutes from the wonders of Hendersonville, the Apple Capital of the World showcasing delicious local cuisine and amazing shops. There are plenty of attractions to keep everyone entertained - Jump Off Rock, awe-inspiring Chimney Rock, Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Park, Flat Rock, the French Broad River, Canopy Ridge Farm Zipline, and the Gorge Zipline, to name a few! Two hours away, the world-famous Tweetsie Railroad, Beech Mountain, and Sugar Mountain ski resort await.

This spacious and charming 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home cottage features all the comforts and conveniences of home. After a fun day of exploring, retreat to the lovely, awe-inspiring sun porch where one can enjoy reading a book or watching birds feed at the attached feeder. When hunger strikes, take advantage of the lovely outdoor space by grilling dinner on the porch/patio. The spacious and well-equipped kitchen is also at your disposal for cooking tasty meals. Enjoy dinner with family and friends in the comfortable dining room and living room. Sink into the comfortable furniture and stream your favorite movie. Rest easy at night. Each bedroom has been beautifully outfitted with comfort in mind.

Things to Know
-Due to severe owner allergies, guests traveling with service animals, emotional support animals and pets are kindly requested to choose another property.
-The fireplace is not operational.
-Guests must use their own accounts to access streaming platforms.
-No large moving trucks or trailers allowed.
-Check-in time: 4:00 p.m.
-Check-out time: 10:00 a.m.
-All guests shall abide by our good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity.
-Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
-No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.
-
-All properties comes with a starter kit to assist you on your first day before having to go out and purchase additional items. This includes: dish sponge, dish soap, dishwasher packet, laundry packet. Bathrooms will have 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, shampoo, conditioner and hand soap.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.

Sonshine Cottage

The best thing about this place is the location. It's a secluded area yet close to a lot of things. It's old and the furniture could definitely use some updating. I would also think that the owner could break down and fix the ice machine in the refrigerator. We've stayed there three times and are coming back in October for a month. There are also two lights out in the house, one above the TV in the living room and one at the far end of the kitchen near the laundry room. There were also out when we stayed there last October. Not a big deal but things that should be checked and fixed.

Spring escape

The house was very roomy. It’s more like a nice cottage than a house IMO, but was perfect for our needs. It’s not really possible to walk anywhere from the house, so a trip into town required the car. I would certainly stay there again.

Book it, you'll love it!

Wanted to stay near friends who live in Laurel Park. Perfect house/perfect location. 3 adult “girls”, each with our own bedroom. The HUGE second bathroom has a private sink/toilet adjacent to each of the two bedrooms with a shared but private bath/shower in between. Great set-up. Each room also has an extra sleeping space, either a twin bed or chaise. The view from the back room with all the windows looks down into Hendersonville. Neighbors are close, but you can’t even see them for the mature Mountain Laurel. Check out time is 10am and the cleaning crew arrives at 10am on the dot! Probably the most practical thing is that there are no steps into the house. Zero entry which is nice when you’re hauling luggage, etc. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Relaxing in the Sonshine

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. Although it was close to town, the location was lush and peaceful. I love old houses and felt at home the moment we walked in the door. My only negative comment is the driveway. I felt it was misrepresented in the listing photos. Some warning about the steepness and rockiness of it would have been helpful. Since we sometimes travel on a motorcycle, the driveway would have been a problem for us in getting to the house.

Would love to stay again

My stepchildren were in town for their father's memorial service. It was a perfect place for them to relax, watch the birds from the sun room and work through their grief. Walking the trail was also so nice. The cabin felt like a warm hug. Beds were very comfortable.

Amazing view - cozy cottage

Don’t miss the opportunity to stay at Sonshine Cottage. The convenient location to Main Street Hendersonville is great. The home is warm, comfortable and cozy. Beds are great, bathroom configuration works well for multiple guests. Kitchen well-stocked. If you love old houses with character, this one is amazing. Host is an excellent communicator and responds very quickly. As advertised!

Thanksgiving at Sonshine Cottage

Sonshine Cottage is an older home full of personality and charm. The location was perfect for visiting my mom in Hendersonville. The neighborhood is beautiful and perfect for long walks.

Very cool older house

I'm not sure what year the house was built, but if you like older houses with all the modern amenities, then this is your place. Plenty of seating and space, and the sun room has an incredible view. Tucked away in a nice quiet neighborhood, yet close to everything.

Stunning view

The house layout was perfect for our group - two couples. Living area separates very private bedrooms and baths. The view of the mountains is stunning. Location is an easy drive to downtown Hendersonville. Convenient, comfortable, good kitchen, great community space.
