Our family is the adults stayed at Sailors Rest Labor day week and enjoyed all that the property offered. The bikes, kayaks, fire pit, pool table and dock were well used by us. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed. The beds were comfortable as well as the main living area. The house was clean and decorated so cute! We would have liked to kayak more, but the wind on the bay didn't cooperate this week. I wouldn't recommend swimming off the dock but it wasn't deeper than 4 ft in the water. Overall a great relaxing, quiet week.

Everything is Better on the River

A fantastic property. It was great for two and the extra space would be great for a crew! Steps away from the water. If you bring a boat the marina is next door.Kayaks provided and we used them every day to paddle around the bay. A short walk to the neighborhood pavilion provides great views for sunrise or sunset.If you don't feel like cooking there are quite a few quaint restaurants just a short drive away.Highly Recommend

This property is in a great location on the water, and it’s convenient to other areas on the northern neck. Mary was a great host- very responsive to the few questions we had along the way leading up to the trip, as well as while we were there.

Boaters Delight!

This property was amazing and perfect for our multiple family vacation. The location is perfect - 15 minutes to Kilmarnock, on the marina property, great water access to Ingram Bay, Great Wicomico River and the Chesapeake Bay. We brought our boat (a 23' power/cruiser - 3 foot draft) and the provided dock worked out well; no problems with access and water depth. The property is on a little off-shoot of Towles Creek that was well protected. The house was very clean and well stocked. The sleeping arrangements worked out well for our 2 families with a combination of adults, teenagers and toddlers. We actually rented the house and some of our extended family rented the 2 cottages on the marina property. The 2 cottages were super cute and close to the house. The cottage folks would come over for group meals at the house. That worked out well and still gave everyone enough personal space and alone-time. The living area and kitchen were very spacious. The kids really loved the game room. We rented the house at the end of July and it was hot, but the combination of the mini-split and dehumidifier in the game room kept it very comfortable... no complaints there. And, I can't say enough about the outdoor space. The yard and porch areas were lovely - plenty of space for the kiddos to play safely outside. Mary and Billy were great. They were easy to get a hold of and helped out with additional requests. This property is definitely saved as a favorite for future vacations.

Summer Vacation

Mary and Capt Bill were awesome! Genuine, kind and responsive. The house earns its name of Sailors Rest. We couldnt have been more comfortable. I had four kids with my wife and I come down fom Massachusetts. The house is spacious and location is second to none if you enjoy peace and tranquility. The harbour cruise was amazing. Even had surprise Dolphin guests. Marys favorite beach location is a must visit. We have never been to such a secluded beach. My daughter informed me it was a tik tok top 10 beach. Who knew. Family and I will definitely make the trek again in the future. Capt Bill has many options from fishing to getting dropped off on your own secluded island. Cant wait to add more memories. TY Mary and Capt Bill.

The Rivah & Bay Life!

Sailor’s Rest is the perfect Rivah & Bay getaway. Capt Billy and Mary are delightful hosts. The house easily accommodated our two families with four teen girls. Be sure to book the sunset cruise with Capt Billy. We’ve stayed here twice and done his cruise three times. It’s a blast!

Perfect!!

This place couldn’t be more perfect! My husband and I stayed for a week and a couple of friends joined us for the weekend. There are so many great things to share about this house. Captain Billy fit the 4 of us in for a river cruise on Saturday which was such an added bonus! We enjoyed crabbing and fishing. We caught a good amount of crabs! We kayaked almost every day and even ventured out into the bay with the kayaks. The weather was perfect in September to be out on the water. The creek was so calm and peaceful. We also enjoyed just sitting out on the comfortable back deck (which was so close to the water) and on the Adirondack chairs on the dock. So quiet and serene and private! There was a nice grill (almost new) to grill our meat. We loved taking bike rides with the nice bikes provided! There were nice paved country roads and neighborhoods to explore. The living area was so nicely furnished and spacious with a nice big screen TV. To top it all off the beds were so comfortable!!!! Mary and Captain Billy were wonderful hosts and were always available to help us or answer any questions. We enjoyed our stay so much! It was everything the listing says it is and more!! We can’t wait to come back again!

Peaceful Waterside Stay!

Captain Billy and his wife, Mary are the best host! Very attentive to your needs. And this bay side, peaceful house is perfect for a relaxing and fun vacation—equipped with kayaks and a canoe, games, pool table and a fun rec room, and crabbing right off the dock or fishing and the one hour boat ride included is really nice too! The large back porch is nicely laid out with comfortable chairs to enjoy the waterside view and grilling out and eating on the back shaded deck. We want to return to purchase a charter fishing trip to get some help from Captain Billy, and do some real fishing out in the bay or ocean wherever he goes :-). Hope to return soon one day!

Wonderful Stay!

Everything was exactly how it was listed! We enjoyed all the amenities. Loved taking the canoe and kayaks on the water. We even discovered a beach we could paddle to. Loved our river cruise and the staff was super accommodating and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place! Thanks Mary!

Great anniversary week

We had fun at the property and in the area. It was a perfect combination of relaxation and activities. Our dog was facinated by the crabs and loved walking the property. My husband caught a 14 inch striped bass off the dock. The house was clean, spacious, well decorated and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

A great place to relax

My family spent the Labor Day Weekend in Mary's home, and we loved it. The home is beautiful and is located in a quiet neighborhood. We spent the entire stay fishing from the dock and caught a good amount of fish. We also spent a great amount of time on the deck sipping coffee in the morning and wine at night :) We will definitely try to come back soon.

Wonderful Family Vacation Spot

We had a lovely stay at this property!!! It was our first time in the area, and Mary answered our questions prior to our stay and had several visitor guides placed in the home for us to use. The pier and game room were a hit for the kids and adults. The views of the water from the rooms and deck were absolutely serene. We also really enjoyed the layout of the home. The living room, dining area, and kitchen are centrally located and large spaces. We could hang together as a family and then relax in the bedrooms and not feel like we were stepping over each other. Several of us are into tech and the Internet access did not let us down. We caught several types of fish including flounder, crabs, and even a ray from the pier. Several family members took advantage of the kayaks to view the inlet. We would stay here again and recommend it to others too!

Family getaway

The property has everything you need to relax and enjoy yourself. Kayaking was excellent and the kids enjoyed the game room. Dock and porch where great places to enjoy a beverage and a breeze. Pet friendly with large yard offering room to roam. Would stay again!

Peaceful Waterfront Getaway

Excellent hospitality from Mary and Captain Billy! Very private and peaceful. Sitting on the back porch watching the water and hearing the breeze in the trees was very relaxing. Nice dock. Quality, clean and comfortable accommodations. Highly recommend fishing and touring the waterways with Captain Billy!

Life on the Rivah

Mary & Capt'n Billy's place is a great "rivah" house on a quiet creek just a five minute kayak paddle to the Chesapeake Bay. Views are awesome and the house has everything you'd want or need for a get-a-way. It's nicely furnished and a fully-stocked kitchen, and a converted two-car garage that's a great play room/pool room with a poker table and TV viewing area. Plan ahead and book a sunset three-hour tour/cruise with Capt'n Billy for a memorable and fun experience. Both Mary and Billy are excellent hosts and we recommend their place for any family or group.

Perfect house to relax and chill

It was so nice working with Mary - she was so helpful with restaurants and places of interest. The house is way larger in person than the pics show - the deck and dock were the best part of the house. We enjoyed the Adirondack chairs on the dock - so many things to do with full game room, bicycles, kayaks and trying to catch crabs! We would recommend this home and host to anyone!! The kitchen was well stocked and bedrooms were large and comfortable. We would love to stay longer next time!! You can’t go wrong with this home on the marina/ bay!!
