The house itself is attractive and comfortable, with nice water views and outdoor spaces. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by issues with both the host and the surrounding property.Over a week after my reservation for a 2-night Memorial Day stay was confirmed, the host contacted me with an obvious lie about a âsystem glitchâ and that there was a 3-night minimum. I was told to either add another night or lose the reservation, despite the booking already being confirmed. With few alternatives still available,I felt coerced into paying for an unneeded additional night.The listing also advertised waterfront access, but when my family followed the detailed directions to the beach, we were confronted by an enraged neighbor who aggressively screamed at us and advanced toward my husband in a threatening manner. The encounter was genuinely frightening and completely ruined the evening.Later that same night, while we were still shaken from the incident, a voice came through the propertyâs exterior camera system telling us to move a vehicle due to âcomplaints.â Our cars were by no means blocking anyoneâs access, so the identities of these numerous complainants are a mystery. The constant monitoring through cameras felt invasive and disturbing.Overall the misleading booking situation, unclear beach access, hostile neighbor interaction, and uncomfortable surveillance made this a stressful and disappointing stay rather than the relaxing family celebration we had planned.
