Welcome to this lovely 4 bedroom, 4 bath home on private Harbor Island! "Happiness Harbor” is the perfect home for your next family vacation! Soak in the 180 degree expansive marsh view from the front porch, main living area and both second floor Master Suites! The positioning of this house makes for a gentle breeze througout most days allowing you to enjoy colorful sunsets dipping into the marsh every evening. Happiness Harbor has everything you need for a wonderful stay at the beach with comfortable furnishings to welcome you at the end of a long beach day.
The kitchen is outfitted and arranged with the chef in mind and includes a full-size commercial standing freezer, a commercial ice maker and an oversized commercial refrigerator. The coffee center has a drip coffee maker and a Kuerig. The dining table seats 8 with extra bar top seating. There is even a table for the little ones.
The first-floor bedroom features a queen size bed, bathroom with walk in shower and deck access overlooking Harbor Creek! This bedroom makes a perfect way for the grand parents to have some space.
The second floor boasts two marsh-front master suites with king size beds and marsh-front deck access with amazing views of St. Helena Sound. The first Master includes a walk-in shower, jacuzzi tub and double vanity.
The second master has a large vanity and a tub/shower combination. The third bedroom is equipped for the younger family members and has two twins and one full-size bunk. The children have their own bathroom with a walk-in shower and deck access overlooking Harbor Creek. 
Relax in the comforable chairs on any of the 4 covered decks or have morning coffee on the deck off the kitchen. The rail-bar on the deck outside the kitchen is set up perfectly for oyster roasts or outdoor dining while overlooking Harbor Creek. Gently swing on the front porch while the ocean breeze and setting sun over the marsh melt stress away. Happiness Harbor offers you views of water from every direction.  The outdoor shower and changing room are the perfect place to rinse off and cool down.The garage area under the home has plenty of parking for the 6-seater and 4-seater golf carts, as well as 2 cars.  Although many visitors find it the perfect place to leave space for playing games, like our ring toss or corn hole in a shaded area protected from rain.  The outdoor furniture in the space offers plenty of seating for the entire family and is perfect to pull into the back yard to enjoy the fire pit.  Feel free to use the oyster/shrimp table in the space for an evening Low Country Boil or Oyster Roast. An array of beach toys for the kids (and adults), including a few beach chairs, are included in the downstairs storage area to your left as you come down the interior stairs into the car port.

 
PETS MUST BE PREAPPROVED . You will be asked to sign a pet agreement and pay a non-refundable $150 pet fee for the first pet and $75 for a second pet. An addtional $300 will be charged for guests that show up with a dog without approval.

      
Harbor Island offers activities for the whole family. You can swim in the uncrowded pool or ocean, play tennis, pickleball, baseketball or sand volleyball at the club house. Fish in the surf, or from the many fishing docks and access areas or charter a boat and fishing guide at nearby marinas. Try your hand at crabbing from the dock located a few hundred yards from the house. 

Once you book, you'll get access to our home website giving you fishing tips, our favorite restaurants, local places to buy fresh fish and seafood (with discounts) and other island tips to feel like a local.
Take a nature walk and watch the seabirds on the beach or see hundreds of nesting egrets and herons, as a lonely alligator lies silently in a green lagoon at the overlook.  Sit and relax on one of the four decks and take in the nearly constant island breeze while watching the shrimp boats from Gays Seafood enter St. Helena Sound.

The pool complex includes many shaded areas, as well as a covered deck with ceiling fans overlooking the pool area, views of St. Helena Sound, a snack bar, a seperate pool for the kids and bathrooms.  Your stay also includes access to the fitness facility and all other island amenities.

Many guests enjoy day trips to nearby Beaufort (15 miles) for boutique shopping, gallery hopping, and delicious food. Treat yourself to a carriage ride through the historic district where stately southern homes share space with grand old live oaks dripping Spanish moss from their limbs.  Several restaurants including Johnson Creek Tavern, Another Slice, and Boujee Bowls are located just outside the front gate, 2 minutes from the house.  Use the Gays Seafood cooler-bag to enjoy 10% off local shrimp and other fresh fish...their dock and market is 5 minutes from the house.
If you like golf, you can play at one of the many beautiful courses in the surrounding area. The Dataw Island Club honors recipricol agreements with other country clubs if you call ahead. The beauty of the Lowcountry has been the backdrop for many movies including Forest Gump, The Big Chill, The Great Santini, and The Prince of Tides. If you are looking for glitz and glamor, large crowds and noise, traffic jams, and crowded beaches, Harbor Island is not for you. If you are looking for a quiet unspoiled beach to enjoy a family vacation or a romantic get-away, please enjoy our beautiful island retreat.
 
Booking this home includes a pass to Hunting Island and a gate pass to Fripp Island, if requested. That gives you access to 3 Islands and 3 different beaches, all within 10 minutes of the house! If you are bringing a boat, let us know and we can make arrangements. Their are two public boat ramps within 5 and 10 minutes of the house.  And we'll give you some tips on where to beach your boat on a dissappearing sand island or fun, remote beaches.

Absolutely loved the home, location, access to beaches, pool, tennis/pickle ball courts, gift shop, deli, golf carts. Plenty of space at the home and everything we needed for an amazing week away. Harbor island is not a resort so it is super quiet and chill and close enough to Beaufort to get dinner out, shop, and see some history. Loved our stay! Will be back!

Unforgettable Stay with an Incredible View!

We had an absolutely incredible stay at this beautiful Harbor Island home! The house was spotless, spacious, and had everything we needed for a relaxing week at the beach. It truly felt like a home away from home.The view was absolutely breathtaking — whether we were enjoying morning coffee on the deck or watching the sunset, the scenery never got old. It was the perfect backdrop for a peaceful, laid-back getaway.The two golf carts were a fantastic bonus — super fun and convenient for getting to the beach, pool, or just exploring the island.The owner’s communication was top-notch — responsive, helpful, and welcoming throughout the entire process.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a serene beach escape with unbeatable views. Perfect Family House

We enjoyed a long weekend with our older kids at this home. The layout was perfect for us and allowed us to have our own space, but have plenty of places to congregate for games and meals. The two golf carts were a really nice bonus to go out and look for gators. The house was well stocked with what we needed for cooking and eating together as a group of 7. Owners were easy to get in touch with and a pleasure to work with. We look forward to renting this home again!

Awesome place with a great view

This house was an awesome place to stay for a family vacation and has one of the best views in the SC low country. The description was spot on and communication with property management and the owner was also easy. They were responsive to questions and needs that we had. We hope to stay here again in the future!
