Silver Birch Lodge at Toppesfield Hall is a cosy countryside escape, ideal for couples, with the flexibility to suit a small family with young children.

Set within a quieter corner of the woodland and surrounded by open fields, this lodge offers a calm and comfortable setting to slow down — whether that’s mornings in the hot tub, gentle walks from your door or simply enjoying time together without a set plan.

Guests can make the most of everything on site, including the woodland sauna experience with cold drench shower and relaxation deck (available to book), along with a tennis court, games room, bike hire and open countryside walks.

The enclosed garden provides a safe, easy space for little ones (and dogs), while the overall layout keeps things simple and manageable for shorter stays or young families.

Inside, the lodge is designed to feel bright and connected to its surroundings. Large sliding doors open onto your private veranda, creating a natural flow between indoors and out.

Toppesfield Hall Retreat consists of five woodland lodges and a cottage, each with its own private hot tub and enclosed garden.

Silver Birch Lodge is best suited to couples, while also offering a comfortable option for a small family with young children.


Layout

Silver Birch Lodge is arranged across a single level with a bright open-plan living space at its centre.

The lounge, kitchen and dining area are combined into one comfortable and sociable space, with patio doors opening directly onto the veranda and garden.

Two bedrooms lead off from the main living area, offering a simple and practical layout suited to couples or a small family (The bedroom area can be seperated from the main living area by a curtain).

A separate bathroom is positioned for easy access from both bedrooms.

Toppesfield Hall is set in the countryside, and our guinea fowl and other local wildlife add a charming touch to your stay. Please note: they may be vocal at times including night-times.

As you get closer to the Essex/Suffolk Border, you will be sure to notice a greener outlook.

Driving through Toppesfield Village you will see our wonderful pub with its spacious outdoor garden for children to play and dogs to roam. You will also pass St Margaret’s Church, our community shop and post office.

This village is full of natural beauty and much character too. There is a park for the children and the village green provides a safe haven for family picnics and games.

Toppesfield Village can be accessed via a short 8 min stroll across the grassed footpath from Toppesfield Hall or from the main country road.

No Parking next to lodges- There is dedicated parking available just a short walk from the Lodges (within 150 yards).
There is a step up to the lodge.
Unfortunately due to the step and parking; we do not advertise our lodges as accessible.
