Located within a striking Grade II-listed building, this three-storey property sits in acres of grounds and is surrounded by prime Suffolk farmland. A mile away, Blyfordâs medieval church is opposite a chocolate-box country inn. Just 5.5 miles in the opposite direction, are the iconic lighthouse, pier and promenade of Southwold. Tucked away on a side street, the bijou Electric Picture Palace opens its doors open for film evenings around 100 times a year. Take the ferry across the River Blyth or drive to Walberswick (5 miles), a charming seaside destination where you can relax on the beach or go for a lovely coastal walk. Further south, Dunwich (5.5 miles) â known as âSuffolkâs Atlantisâ because of the 13th-century storms that swept away most of its buildings â has a huge beach and the Heath, an area rich in wildlife. RSPB Minsmere (8.2 miles) offers more encounters with nature.
A tree-lined lane leads up to the former workhouse thatâs now converted into an exclusive collection of town houses and apartments. Stroll through your private front garden, step across the threshold and youâll find a handy cloakroom and a door leading straight into your main open-plan social space.
