The Space:
Please note: During school holidays and other peak times, bookings must be a 4 day minimum Monday - Friday, or a 7 night stay Saturday to Saturday. 23 Valley Lodge, a reverse-level retreat, consists of a kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, and dishwasher, a dining area seating six, and a sitting area with Smart TV and balcony. The bedrooms consist of a ground-floor double with en-suite walk-in shower, ground-floor double, and ground-floor twin. There is a ground-floor bathroom with bath and shower over. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent. Outside, there is a balcony with furniture and barbecue, a front garden with decking and hot tub, plus designated parking for one car and additional off-road parking available in a car park nearby. Two well-behaved pets welcome, but sorry, no smoking. Shop 3.2 miles, pub 3.3 miles, river 0.8 miles. Stay at 23 Valley Lodge for your next picture-perfect holiday. Note: On-site shop and bar. Note: On-site facilities include an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, gym, restaurant, games room, tennis court, and more. Please be aware that, as you would expect, we fully replace the hot tub water between guests. Therefore on the infrequent occasion where guests who are checking in arrive on the same day as departing guests, there could be a chance that the hot tub temperature is below typical hot tub temperature on arrival. Desired temp will be reached within 12 hours of water replacement. The Neighborhood:
The small rural village of Gunnislake lies on the steeply wooded banks of the River Tamar. It has village pubs and a small selection of shops. Notably, the village sits at one end of the scenic Tamar Valley Railway - with regular services along the river bank to Plymouth. The area is perfect for exploring Dartmoor, the south and north coast beaches and the attractions of Cornwallâs far west. Close to hand, the Dartmoor town of Tavistock with its pannier market, pubs and restaurants is a must, as well as the popular fishing village of Calstock, renowned for its crafts and festivals, while the Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT) are just 10 minutes away. Enjoy a round of golf at St Mellion (8 miles), explore the restored Victorian mining village at Morwellham Quay (4 miles), search for otters and deer along the Tamar Valley footpath, visit the National Trust owned Lydford Gorge, or take a trip to the beach and picturesque harbour at Looe (25 miles) - thereâs something for everyone. For something really different, why not ride the scenic Tamar Valley Railway into Plymouth and spend the day in the fabulous Marine Aquarium or strolling the historic Plymouth Hoe?
