Deck chairs are available for hire and boat trips to visit the seals at Scroby Sands. Central beach hosts fireworks spectacular each Wednesday (weather permitting) during the summer season. With many activities available all year round, please note some have seasonal openings.

The town centre has shopping mall and market square; a great place for seeking fresh fish, sea food and fruit, along with supermarkets and a train station close by. Quayside is home to Time and Tide museum and Nelson’s museum. Nearby (2.5 miles) is the stadium for grey hound racing, stock car racing and horse racing. The famous Norfolk Broads is just 11 miles away, a National Park with over 125 miles of waterways. There are daily river and boat trips and riverside eateries. The city of Norwich (21 miles) for excellent shopping two indoor malls, market square, cathedral, castle museum, theatre, cafés and restaurants. Thrigby Wildlife Centre, Pleasurewood Hills theme park, Somerleyton Hall and Gardens within an hour’s drive. Beach 330 yards. Shop and pub 30 yards, restaurant 10 yards.
