This updated 1903 comfortable 2 bedroom home has its original hardwood floors, lots of lighting, and is the absolute PERFECT location - a mere 4 blocks from Stewart Beach and Porretto Beach, 5 blocks from UTMB, and a short 10 blocks from The Strand. Rent a golf cart or walk, it's up to you!



The secret gem of this home is the spacious and trendy garage a/k/a The Hangout. It's sure to be the social hub during your stay.



This home is thoughtfully furnished and supplied. You'll feel right at home. This cottage can comfortably accommodate 6 people. Electronic locks on the doors allow for easy and contact-free access! WiFi included. There are 3 security cameras on-site at the entrances (1) front door (2) back door and (3) garage entrance.

Arrived at the property to see that it was a lot older than what it looks like in the photos. While the kitchen is a bit modern, the rest of the property feels very old from the walls, molding, doors, windows, rooms and overall feel. The location isn’t great either as the neighborhood felt unsettling, the walk to the beach consists of crossing a major street with no sidewalks so yes, technically walking to the beach. Overall disappointed with this stay.

Memorial Day getaway

Our family really enjoyed this house and its amenities, especially the proximity to the strand. The parking passes for the beach and street made things very convenient. We loved the garage with its lights and games for the kids. All in all a very cozy and accommodating stay. Would stay again and recommend to families looking for a cozy place near the beach.

Nice Spot for a Quick Getaway

Our family of four stayed in this charming cottage for five days. The kitchen was well provisioned, AC cold, single bathroom roomy enough for everyone’s stuff, and the hangout space below was an especially huge hit with the kids. Access to Porretto Beach was great, but only open on the weekend during our stay. Overall a great little house for a beach escape.

Exactly as described

This house was so cute! I loved the updated features inside and my son loved the “secret” game room downstairs. The only downside was the bed in the primary room and the sofa sleeper were both pretty uncomfortable and very loud if you move around in them. Overall, we were very happy with the property and how quickly the owners responded to our communication.

Location was good. Home’s style and vibe was pleasant. Loved the cozy beach feel. Loved the downstairs area. Floors were a bit dirty. Had to vacuum up sand and dust balls. Pull out bed had a layer of sand. Couldn’t use.

Perfect location, beautiful house

Short walk to the beach, 1 mile from downtown (walkable), wonderful neighborhood to bike. Close to restaurants. House is beautifully decorated and clean, well-stocked and beds were comfortable. Communication was great. Nice TV. We found the sofa to be very uncomfortable, but maybe that's just us. I don't sit a lot on vacation, but it's nice to unwind at the end of the day. We appreciated the extra touches for our pups. Would definitely love to stay here again! Thank you.

Weekend in Galveston

It was a decent little cottage. We were there to visit with friends and attend the sand castle competition. The only 2 discomforts I would mention are; the kitchen was incredibly warm since there wasn’t an AC unit and trying to cook just heated it up more. and the bed closest to front door was uncomfortable for my husband and I. It felt broken down. Otherwise it was a cute, clean place.

Cozy and comfortable

We had a great time staying in the cottage. Everything was perfect. It was close to the beach and Downtown. Felt safe in the neighborhood. Walking distance to the beach but it was too hot for us to walk and my parents are elderly. So I would say car was better for us but parking was easy. The house was well stocked with board games for the kids and a game room downstairs was a nice touch. QEven my fur baby was comfortable. It was nicely decorated and clean. Would definitely recommend it.

Darling house!

I love this cozy little home. Fantastic location - you can walk down the street to the beach. Although a classic Galveston home, it was nicely updated and had all the amenities we needed. I'd love to come back and invite friends as the downstairs garage is set up like a fun ice house/ hangout space. It would be (literally!) a cool place to hang out during warmer weather as you can raise the door to get the sea breeze and hear the ocean but you're protected from the sun and somewhat insulated from the heat. Host was great and is really open to feedback on making a great place even better.

The Perfect Place

The Sealy Cottage sealed the deal on a perfect beach getaway ! I had not been to Galveston in over 30 years and was not quite sure what to expect. The location was great for us. The neighborhood is very safe and cute, parking is easy with the residential guest pass, access to the beach is totally walkable, and the beaches weren’t crowded during our visit. We walked to the beach every morning and evening and took looonnng walks all the way down to the end of East Beach. The dog was in heaven. I had to do some work while there and the Internet was fast, and the dining room table was the perfect desk. We cooked most meals at the cottage and the kitchen was well appointed. The beds were comfortable, and the furnishings were very nice. Overall, it just couldn’t have been any better. Highly recommend.
