Make yourself at home at Blue Starfish (VRBO # 1920595) where you are steps from the beach and even closer to amazing sunrise and sunset views from the spacious deck. Kids (and pets) will have plenty of space to play in the fenced back yard while you watch from the swing on the patio.

A bright open floor plan makes it easy to gather for family time whether it’s visiting, playing games, watching TV or enjoying a meal. The family room has a large TV, a DVD player and an electric fireplace for those chilly nights as well as free Wi-Fi and cable TV. There is dining for 8 at the table with an additional 4 stools at the counter. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans to help make mealtime easy. There are 2 12 cup coffee makers, a Keurig, a microwave, 2 toasters (4 slice and 2 slice), a blender, a hand mixer, a crockpot and a Belgium waffle maker.

Your vacation home can sleep up to 12 people. There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor – 2 with king beds and 1 with 2 full beds. The sleeping loft upstairs has a twin over full bunk bed and a twin daybed. Each of the 3 bedrooms is tastefully decorated to enhance your beach stay and include a TV. The bedroom with the 2 full beds also has a DVD player. Because the sleeping loft is open to the main floor, there is no TV in it. There is also a Pack 'n Play for those little ones.

After a day at the beach, you can shower off in the downstairs outdoor shower. You will also find a propane grill, picnic table, additional chairs and a fish cleaning table downstairs.

To help you settle in for your vacation, we provide a starter set up of coffee filters, 2 premeasured pouches of coffee (1 regular and 1 decaf), 6 K-cups, kitchen garbage bags (2), paper towels (1 roll), dishwasher soap (2 pods), a new sponge, dishwashing liquid, toilet paper (2 rolls in each bathroom), laundry soap (2 pods), dryer sheets (2) and liquid hand soap in the kitchen and bathrooms.

Fresh sheets and towels are provided, and, for your convenience, there is a washer and a dryer for your use. There is also an ironing board and iron provided. There are hair dryers in each of the two bathrooms.

Please remember that you will be staying in someone’s home, so we ask that you please treat it with care and respect. As our home is in a family oriented neighborhood, we do limit guests to 12 (daytime and/or overnight) and do not allow events.

Family vacation (Christmas in July)

We had a great time and the location was perfect. It really was nice to be able to just walk out to the beach. Too bad Mother Nature made the back gate have to be closed but it wasn’t a game changer. Our children loved being able to out their lines out and if they had to go back to the house it was close enough to make it back quickly. We also got to crab fish at the state park which was also very close. It was nice everyone had their own bed. We also left my husbands shirts and they were kind enough to mail them to us.

Second stay at the blue starfish

This was our SECOND stay at the blue starfish and it’s absolutely perfect we stayed for a whole week and had the best time ever! Larry and Karen are so sweet and answered any question we had quickly! Everyone calls this home away from home! Hope to be back next year!

Right on the Beach

Like a 30 second walk to the water. Very nice house, lot of people’s first time to the beach and they were really happy with the location and house. Was like a 25 minute drive from the main tourist part of town but was happy after dealing with a lot of people to get out of town to the quiet. 7 minutes away from the best shelling beach. House had everything we needed and them some.

Relaxing retreat

We just returned from our stay at the Blue Starfish and I already want to go back! We loved that we could walk right to the beach and enjoy our day. It wasn't too far outside of Galveston that we had to drive forever to get to any destinations. With Hurricane Beryl, we weren't sure how everything would be, but Larry (the owner) kept us updated every step of the way and we were able to arrive as planned. He was very quick to respond to any questions we had and even kept us updated when storms knocked out the internet and tv while we were there. We will definitely be staying at the Blue Starfish again! :)

Considering we survived hurricane Beryl the house itself was nice. The owner was very responsive to our needs and even though we had to leave on Monday morning he offered us a 5 night stay for a later date. I do look forward to staying there again.

Absolutely outstanding!!

The check in process (gaining access to home upon arrival) was very easy. Instructions were emailed days in advance and were just as described. There is ample parking. We had 4 vehicles (2 cars, 1 SUV, 1 full size crew cab truck) and all 4 fit underneath the house with one additional concrete spot outside. The stairs have working lights on each step that truly helped at night. The deck is great and the views were beautiful. We loved the covered section during mid day. Inside the home is decorated like a coastal dream. It was beachy but not over the top, comfortable and functional. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with pots and pans, dishes, plastic bowls for mixing, serving or popcorn that were in great condition and all drawers and cabinets were labeled so it was easy to find what you needed. The beds were comfortable, plenty of pillows and blankets available. One of the best parts was the dehumidifier!! We think it helped keep the house cooler than others we’ve stayed in. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again!

Amazing Deck with Amazing Views

We have stayed at this property many times over the years and it is still our favorite Galveston rental. The deck has comfortable seating, shade and a view. We appreciate the large dining table which is perfect for family meals, games and puzzles. The house is clean, beautifully decorated and has plenty of natural light.

I CHOSE THIS PROPERTY DUE TO THE REVIEWS, BUT MY VISIT DIDN’T REALLY GO AS SMOOTH AS THE REVIEWS. WE DIDN’T HAVE USE OF THE DRYER BECAUSE IT WAS BROKEN, THERE WERE BODILY FLUIDS ON THE BATHROOM SHOWER CURTAIN, ONE ROOM’S BED SHEETS HAD MALE BODILY FLUIDS, WHEN WE CALLED ABOUT THE DRYER & TO GET SOME BED SHEETS, THE PEOPLE THAT CAME OUT WERE MORE WORRIED ABOUT PEOPLE THAT THEY SAW, INSTEAD OF WHAT THE REAL ISSUES WERE, MANY THAT WE DEALT WITH ON OUR OWN
.THE PROPERTY MANAGER WASN’T THE ISSUE, IT WAS THE LACK OF USE OF CERTAIN ITEMS & THAT SOME THINGS WEREN’T HOW IT WAS DESCRIBED ON THE REVIEWS

Wonderful Stay!

Great location, steps from the beach. The deck was awesome with plenty of seating and great views of the beach. Kitchen was very well stocked. Large table for meals, playing cards, games or puzzles. Lots of space to relax and unwind with comfortable seating in the living area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.
