1928 Kempner Retreat is close to everything Galveston has to offer and is only a 3 minute drive to the seawall where you can spend a day soaking up the sun and enjoying the beach or dine at one of many Galveston's famous restaurants. For those cruise passengers in town prior to their cruise, we are only a 7 minute drive to the Cruise Ship Terminal. The perfect mid-town location on Galveston island!

Our home is filled with loads of extras to make your visit a 5 star experience.

What a wonderful place to stay. Communication was fantastic with very prompt replies. House was very welcoming and beautifully decorated. Location suited us perfectly. Wish we could have enjoyed the backyard and deck facilities as it looked cozy and welcoming. However the weather had other plans for us the days we were there. Highly suggest this home away from home.

Wonderful location between the Seawall and Strand area. Lovely home. One main level queen bedroom, two bedrooms up with one king and one queen.Peaceful backyard space with comfortable seating. Host was very cordial and friendly.

This is a beautifully appointed property equidistant from the Seawall (beach) and the Strand (shopping). Parking is available onsite which is very rare in this part of Galveston. This pet friendly home has a lovely courtyard and nice patches of grass across the street should your pet be picky. Of note, i always put my pets in diapers when we vacation due to the scents they can detect in vacation homes. Mine did not react, which tells me this home is also thoroughly cleaned between visits.The home offers central air and dehumidifiers which keep the air quality plessant throughout the house. Coffee was provided and MUCH appreciated! We didn't cook, but the kitchen has everything needed for any meal. We came for a very short stay to attend a wedding. We left wishing we would have arranged to stay longer.This lovely home is ingrained in our memories of our nephew's wedding and our overall impression of Galveston. That's all to say, we had an amazing time!

This charming home stole our hearts! We didn’t expect such a lovely home because it seems like the photos are always better than real life, but quite the opposite here. The house had EVERYTHING we could possibly need to cook for ourselves, do some laundry and just kick back and relax. The couches comfortable as well as the beds. A lot of short term rentals have the cheapest furniture so I really appreciate that this place had real furniture! We’ll definitely stay here again and can’t recommend it enough.

The home had so much available for guest. All the tools and things to cook or bake anything. A large TV and they offered and share some streaming services to use as well! Everything was clean and extras linens if needed. Communication was excellent with David. I was arriving late and he had the a/c turned on for us knowing how late we were checking in. He also checked in the following morning to ensure if anything else was needed he was just a call away!. Great host. I would definitely choose this place again when returning. We were able to walk to the beach was was just great.

House was super clean, equipped with all the essentials and more. Really felt like a home away from home. Very inviting. Super close to Seawall Blvd -beach, stores and lots of eatery places. Would recommend this place to family and friends.

EXCELLENT CHARACTER HOUSE

The house was even better than described. Lots of character inside the house. The 2 upstairs bedrooms are extremely large with their own bathrooms. The downstairs bedroom also had its own bathroom. Comfortable lounge. Kitchen with plenty of utensils. The garden was a delight to sit outside in the sunshine. Easy to park the car in the driveway. Quiet neighbourhood. Near the seawall, probably about half a mile so walkable for some. Fast and reliable wifi. Would stay here again if returning to Galveston. David was extremely easy to contact and replied quickly

Beautiful home at Galveston

This is a neat, clean and well designed beach home. We were two families and all of us liked this beautiful house. We had everything we needed in the house from beautiful plates and utensils to Keurig coffee maker and beautiful coffee cups which makes our stay easy and enjoyable. The two bed rooms were great, our kids liked the sleepers downstairs. We definitely would like to stay in this house when we come to Galveston again.

The beautiful home had everything our group needed and more. The location was perfect for our stay as we explored Seawall & Strand the most. The best part was we could easily contact the owners & communicate with them in a timely manner. That was key for us after some “not so good “ experiences in the past. We hope to come again to this place.

Lovely property!

My family and my brothers family plan a vacation every year and this year we decided to go to Galveston from the Dallas area. We chose this property because it fit our families and was close to everything. Pictures did not do this property justice! It’s a beautiful home. Communication with owner was fantastic. He set the door code to my preference which made remembering it so much easier. The property was very clean and one of the most stocked properties we’ve ever stayed in! Everything you could ever want with every detail thought out. Living room and furniture was super cozy. Thank you for the fun spring break!

Great house

Great location close to Strand and Seawall streets. A car would probably be a must. Enough can not be said about the host. He was a wealth of information and very prompt on answering any guestions. The house was furnished like you were at home. Every possible thing you needed was furnished. I have been a VRBO user for over 15 years. And this rental is one of my best. Bill

Beautiful home with convenient location. Great for families or adults. They had games for kids. Cute little outdoor area for sitting or grilling. Host checked in to make sure if we needed anything.
