Canal Front Retreat + Heated Pool

Casa De Palmas is a canal-side home in Jamaica Beach with a luxury feel and an outdoor setup that really stands out. With two king suites, flexible sleeping space, and 120 feet of canal frontage, it’s a great spot for groups who want room to relax and a waterfront view the whole trip.

Start your day on the water with the kayaks and paddle boards, set out the crab traps off the dock, then come back for pool time under the waterfall and a soak in the spa. Wrap it up with dinner on the upper deck, and if you’re bringing a boat, the slip and lift are available for guest use (up to 25 ft) to make getting out on the canal quick and convenient.

THE HOUSE

Inside, Casa De Palmas is bright and open with large windows and an airy, upscale feel. The kitchen, dining, and living areas flow together so everyone can stay connected. The dining table seats 6, with 3 more seats at the island. In the living room you’ll find two couches, extra seating, a TV with streaming services, and a cabinet of board games. One couch pulls out into a queen bed for additional sleeping space.

The kitchen is fully stocked for meals at home, and a washer and dryer are available for guest use during your stay.

OUTDOOR SPACES

The outdoor living here is the main event, with 120 feet of canal frontage and multiple spaces to spread out. Enjoy the private pool with a built-in waterfall (heat available) and the heated spa (complimentary). Upstairs, the canalfront deck is set up for meals outside, lounging in the sun, and grilling on the smoker/charcoal grill.

Downstairs, the patio is made for hanging out, with an outdoor TV area, plenty of seating for dining and relaxing, plus hammocks and swings for a shaded break. There’s also a gazebo for extra covered seating when you want to cool off.

From the dock, you can launch the provided kayaks and paddle boards and use the crab traps right off the canal. For a little friendly competition, there’s a volleyball net in the backyard and a basketball goal out front.

Please note: the backyard is fenced, but the fence does not separately enclose the pool and canal.

Perfect Setup

The house, location, setup and amenities were all perfect, and exactly what we were looking for. Fishing was great especially for kids cause it’s easy to catch fish right off the canal. Play volleyball and hopped in the pool, or you can take a short drive to the nice beach area of Galveston. The house itself is so nice too! Loved it-

New Years’s Delight

Between Christmas and New Years Day, a welcomed retreat! The weather was great, and this house was perfect for our family! It has a bathroom for every bedroom and a bonus for guests! Our children were old enough to enjoy being separated from us (and we from them.) They loved the kayaks, pool toys, volleyball and basketball courts, and we all loved the indoor games and hot tub. It was easy to get to the beach side and convenience store nearby. Overall, this was the best place we’ve rented in Galveston! Thanks so much!

Awesome outdoor space!

We had a great time at this house! The pool and bay were amazing and just what our group wanted! The inside of the house is also great, but note that the 2 queen bunk bedrooms are only accessible from the first floor outside of the main house. It was fine for our group and we read that in a review prior, but the online listing should be updated in case small children would be staying in the bunk room. I would feel uncomfortable with little kids having to go outside to get to the main house. As long as you are aware of this, I would highly recommend this house! The property manager communication was great and we appreciated the attention when we needed something!

Our stay was horrible!!!!

I really do not know where to begin about our stay here. My brother and his wife flew in, so we could take our 100-year-old mother to the beach one last time. When we arrived, the temperature in the house was 95 degrees. The air conditioner was turned off, there is a Nest thermostat which controls the temperature remoting. It took close to 6+ hours to get to 75. When we called to report this, their response we are sorry someone must have overlooked this, just turn on the fans. Also, every afternoon the family room temp would climb to the mid-eighties with the air conditional on. The Lawn was not mowed, and the pool was dirty, and pool color was light green. It looked like the pool had not been clean in while. They sent the pool company out the next day. He shocked the pool, fixed the values so pool flow was correct and skimmed the pool. He did not vacuum it. There was debris all over the bottom of the pool. The last thing is the description of the house is vague. Rooms 3 and 4 are on the ground floor and you must go outside to go upstairs. We thought the rooms had queen beds, but they are queen bunkbeds. They left out the word bunk. We were all older adults staying here. I really do not have anything nice to say. What really makes me mad is I was in communication with them the whole week before we came, and they said the house was ready. If was far from ready. I have rented multiple vacation homes across the country and this by far was the worst experience

Great outdoor area but overall rental needs work

Stayed with adults, teens. Overall a really nice property but there were issues I don't expect to have when renting a higher-end house. Pros: - AMAZING pool, deck and outdoor area overall - Spacious Master bedroom and bath - Perfect for older teens, volleyball court, kayaks, pool, outdoor bar. - Bunk bed rooms are in a detached area which was good to keep teen noise away from master bedroom. (but would not be good for younger kids) Cons: - check in process was chaotic to say the least. We arrived at night; it was very dark. We could not get the key out of the lock box b/c we were given the wrong code. Finally got the key then it broke. We called and texted and were told they would "see what they could do about it". Fortunately we had opened all key-access bedroom doors before the key broke. - We could not get into the laundry room (detached and key accessible) since the key broke. We were told to go to the laundromat down the road if we needed to wash clothes. New key was never delierved. - Some communcation with the host seemed to be automated responses and not relevant to our concerns. - Dishes in the cabinets were dirty

Family getaway

The house was everything and more. We really enjoyed using the paddleboat kayaks and the pool. The green light at night was great for fishing. Overall, the property had an Island feel and was very relaxing. would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to just get away.

Exceeded Expectations!

Our stay at Casa del Palmas was above and beyond our expectations! A cold front came in our first night and the host, Chris, made sure that the pool was heated when we arrived. This saved the weekend since the weather didn't allow for too much beach time. The house was well appointed with everything needed. I am sure this is a home we will visit again on one of our future trips!

great place but needs attention and corrected listing

wonderfully decorated with summer amenities. The 2nd king is actually a custom couch pull out. Not the most comfortable. unfortunately, for Thanksgiving (cold season) stay, fireplace, primary coffee Mielle non functioning properly, 1 stove knob broken and a few other minor things unavailable. Hosts did communicate but could not offer fix for non functioning or missing things.

Decks to end all decks.

Beautiful home and the finish out inside is amazing Very enjoyable pool area Electrical system is need of panel replacement and upstairs small bedroom needs the bed frame repaired. AC unit is unable to keep the home below 78 degrees after 2:00 pm each day but does start to cool back down after dark. Very nice home and will recommend it to friends. Thank you

Family Vacation

Casa De Palmas definitely lived up to it’s name. The property was wonderful from the amenities down to the landscaping. Truly felt like an island resort. It was a quick transition from the pool to fishing, to an evening dinner on the upper deck. With excellent customer service a plus, we will certainly be returning.

“There was so much to do, even when it rained”

This will be a review I will enjoy making and yet hate, because once everyone knows about this place, it will surely be so hard to rent out again. It's one of those hidden gems you want to keep hush hush and be selfish about and enjoy forever. None the less, this rental and its management deserves so much praise for such wonderful upkeep, comfort and convenience. They were ready available within notice if any questions came up and yet poised to allow your stay to feel as if in your own home. The best renter/management experience I've had in a while. When it comes to amenities, this place is it. Their comfortable beds and restrooms were 5-star hotel grade and the pool and volleyball court were a perfect bonus. Yet even when the heavy rain spoiled the whole day, you could find yourself wrapped up in a cozy living room with great surround sound making it for an awesome movie night. Plenty of board games and even poker cards and chips kept us laughing all thru the night. The kitchen was better equipped than our own home and even spices to spare for those like me that forget. One could even say that the cook in the family would never want to leave. So I know much of the amenities aren't listed yet but you can count on a full range of items that are sure to make your time there, the best ever. The kayaks are a great addition but be sure to be mindful of their waivers in the welcoming folder. All your info to the house is there. In summary, the house and its amenities will make for the most convenient and best time ever. I will definitely be making another reservations soon.
