Full House on the Lake with Free kayaks, paddleboats and a fishing boat.
Very quiet and scenic 1500 square foot 3 bedroom cottage just 5 minutes from Angola and 35 minutes from Ft. Wayne. You'll have the entire furnished cottage to yourselves! No need to bring anything except food. Take advantage of the free use of 2 kayaks a paddleboat and a fishing boat complete with life preservers. There are two charcoal grills for your convenience. Explore Long Lake and maybe throw out one of the several fishing poles that are provided! In the evening sit back and take in the stars around the campfire or enjoy our 300 ft deck. We are on Long Lake in Pleasant Lake.
Charlie was a great host! Answered all questions with in minutes. The outdoor property is large with great deck and view of the lake. We love hearing all the birds! Indoor comfortable.Outside dock wasn't in the water but you could walk right into the water. Just a little TLC this place would be paradise.
comfortable, kayaks and boat good, property is maintained well (grass is cut). Lots of hummingbird's and other small birds. Would recommend staying here.
Was a beautiful location near multiple fishing lakes. With the kayaks and the boat really madeIt a wonderful fishing experience. We caught blue gill, bass, bowfin, and many catfish. The owner Charley was extremely friendly and accommodating. We will be back in the summer.
Overall, we found the house comfortable and generous with welcoming gifts (s'more fixings and popcorn, for example). Neither of us noticed that there would be no dishwasher, so only one of us could do dishes because of mobility issues. I'd also recommend telling people that they might want to bring their own drinking water if they are put off by mineral tasting water.
Robin and Charley were wonderful to work with and we were able to easily access the property. It is a cozy little lake cabin that feels like family. There is so much more room than it looks like in the pictures!! And the treats that were left for us was even more of a bonus! We slept like babies and awake to a cool crisp morning with coffee on the deck. It was a terrific time and we may have to plan another girls weekend here!
This property was not as represented in the listing. It needed a thorough cleaning top to bottom and house needed repairs. The pictures are old and not accurate. Girlfriends and I stayed for a girls getaway during a cold spell and while we were warm and dry, all the windows completely froze over every night then melted some during the day leaving a drippy mess on the window sills and floors. This is not a new problem as the main bedroom had mold in the window sills and around the edge of the floor from prior moisture. Mold was/is a huge problem! Front door had paper towels jammed in the cracks. We found a hole in one window near an a/c unit that was as big as an apple. There are just too many issues to list.
The house on the lake was the perfect place for four friends to spend a weekend getaway. Everything was easy- location, getting to, and checking in and out. The Hansons are great hosts and were easy to message with and answered any questions we had about our stay. While the weather did not cooperate we still had a wonderful time hiking and photographing nature at the nearby Wing Haven Preserve and dining out in Angola. Everything was clean and perfect, lots of great space, and being dog-friendly was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back! -Michelle & Company
We really enjoyed staying at the Long Lake property. Charles was very easy to communicate with helped us with questions. Thinking about coming back in the summer.
The place was nice enough. It may have been great for a family that wanted to be outdoors and enjoy the lake. I was on my own for a spiritual retreat, along with my dog. At night the curtains didn't fully close, there were no deadbolts on the exterior doors and no security light in the parking area. When my dog started growling and not settling, I decided to leave at 2:00 a.m. I had booked two nights and left all of the money behind when I decided to leave. No small thing. So, I'd say, not a good place for my purpose.
The owner, Charlie and Robin, thought of everything to help you relax. Very comfortable lakeside home with awesome views. Quiet neighborhood. Roku TVâs in living room and master bedroom. If you enjoy fishing you are in for a treat. I caught a lot of huge bluegill, a few perch, and a couple of largemouth by accident as I was focused on bluegill.
Communication with the owner was excellent as we stay in VRBO âs a lot and Charlie would respond in less than ten minutes each time. We wish we could have stayed longer. You have a full kitchen but IF you donât want to cook you have several restaurant choices in Angola about 10 minutes away.
We highly recommend this property!

Very nice place to stay. We wish the weather had been better. It would have been nice to enjoy outside. It was close to town . Thanks for offering your lake house.
This was a great place to stay! Beautiful sunsets, quite setting, access to water toys was great to get out on the lake. My son caught a bunch of crappie. It is remote however your very close to town. I would recommend it as place to stay. Had everything you would need.
Charlie & Robin were excellent hosts, they went above and beyond both before during and after our stay. They were quick to respond when I had questions before and Charlie checked in on us a couple times via message. The cottage was cute and very clean. Kitchen was well stocked with plates, utensils and items for cooking. We appreciated the smores fixings, bag of ice, popcorn, dog treats and washing machine. The lake was very peaceful and we really enjoyed the backyard that overlooked the lake and the fire pit. As much as all five humans enjoyed the visit, our two dogs were in heaven! Within five minutes of arriving both dogs were diving off the dock like pros. Our Samoyed had a blast exploring the yard and our Labrador we couldnât get out of the lake. When it was time to go, I leashed them up and went to the front door and they both ran to the back door to out to the lake and wouldnât come đ I donât blame them I wanted to stay a bit longer too! So all in all we had a great time and would definitely recommend!
We had a short stay but it was more than we could have hoped for! This property is clean, quiet, great communication with the hosts and worth booking! We will stay here again!
What a great getaway. Right on the water, plenty of room, lots of water âtoysâ (boats/kayaks). Owner was great to work with and provided more than the basics. Even had some dog treats and beds. Well worth the price!
While it was only my husband and me this trip, this house would be perfect for a large family gathering. Two full baths and many beds, well stocked with necessities. Lots of games for the kids, two TVs, and a rockingâ internet connection.
The lake itself is beautiful and peaceful. Despite many houses, it felt like we were all alone most of the week. We didnât catch a lot of fish as the lake was too high due to heavy rains in prior weeks. But we did catch some varietyâŠa large mouth bass, a yellow perch, and a variety of pan fish. And rumor has it some monster carp, although we did not attempt that.
I was especially happy with the variety of birds to hear and observeâŠsome I did not have on my lifetime list. A red-headed woodpecker, a warbling verio, a Baltimore oriole and a bluebird in addition to the usual robins, sparrows, wrens, and finches. We also had a gaggle of Canadian geese with many goslingsâŠand a pair of herons who didnât have much better luck with the fish than we did.
Charley and Robin are great hosts, quick to respond to any request. House was quite clean except for window sills which could use a quick vacuum. But thatâs life on a lake, for youâŠa few bugs are a small price to pay for a lovely week at the lake.
