Une tradition Surfside originale!

SituĂ© Ă  l'origine sur la plage piĂ©tonne "Gables", il accueille des vacances en famille depuis 1962. AprĂšs une tempĂȘte, la famille a dĂ©mĂ©nagĂ© la maison au milieu de la plage il y a quelques annĂ©es et a alors dĂ©cidĂ© d'ajouter une chambre et des toilettes supplĂ©mentaires au rez-de-chaussĂ©e et de remodeler la maison. "Gables" est une maison que tout le monde sur l'Ăźle connaĂźt et reconnaĂźt. Appartenant Ă  une belle famille qui le chĂ©rit et aime savoir que cela signifie beaucoup pour tant de gens. "Gables" est une propriété impressionnante trÚs appréciée et entretenue. La propriété est un 4 chambres / 2. 5 salles de bain avec un immense grenier avec un espace partiellement privé et une salle de bain.

Le loft a des zones de couchage sĂ©parĂ©es qui sont ouvertes mais semi-privĂ©es en mĂȘme temps. Pour le divertissement, il y a un coin TV avec des chaises confortables et des poufs. C'est un excellent endroit pour les enfants et les adolescents, une famille ou plusieurs familles.

Les 4 chambres au niveau principal ont chacune un lit King ou Queen. Magnifiquement situé sur la zone Middle Beach de Surfside Beach. La cour autour des pignons est parfaite pour les divertissements, les enfants à jouer, les barbecues, etc ... et l'accÚs à l'eau est si facile, à quelques pas de l'herbe au sable. Vous et votre famille et / ou vos amis quitterez cette maison en souhaitant que vous ayez pu rester plus longtemps. For as much as I was charged the place could have been cleaner. There was a beer can under one of the beds. Under the couch cushions are nasty. One of the faucets cut a family member. A few lights were burnt out and I was told to find light bulbs in the cupboard and change them. There was not the light bulbs that we needed plus you needed a ladder to get to them. I asked for them to be changed, no one came out. The dryer vent was broke and someone did come out the last day we were there to fix that. I asked the maintenance man if he was going to change the light bulbs and he said no. The shower curtains had mold on them. There was no clicker for the one bedroom and we were told to use an app. Things should have been taken care of properly before someone comes to stay at the rental and then charge the price they did. Being on the beach was nice and we did have a place to lay our heads. We made do and as a family had fun.

We absolutely loved the location—just steps from the best part of the beach and very close to the Yucca Beach access. That convenience was the highlight of our stay.The house itself is in poor condition and overdue for serious updates. I rely heavily on reviews when booking, and I wish previous reviews had been more honest. It’s clear the owners haven’t invested in maintaining the property in quite some time.One of the most concerning issues was the water. It came out yellow—almost brown at times—which made us hesitant to use it for anything beyond flushing or quick rinses. The A/C also struggled. Even after the sun went down, it was still 77 degrees inside, and our bedroom never cooled off throughout the night. There are safety issues as well. A loose floor vent near the door was a serious hazard—thankfully, we were watching when our little one tried to pick it up. There's also a badly damaged section of flooring by the back door where the vinyl is chipped away, loosely covered by a rug. The lighting throughout the home is very dim, and the ceiling fans are loud and unstable.On the positive side, the kitchen was impressively well stocked. However, the towels were worn out; I’d recommend bringing your own, especially hand towels for the bathroom. This place clearly had charm in its heyday, but it’s lost that now. I'd love to return for the amazing location, but I’d be very hesitant to rebook unless the owners put real effort into repairs and improvements.

Adventure

While this house did not work out for our trip, we had an awesome experience with Denise. She went above and beyond at 3am to get us into a house that was best for our trip. Denise deserves an award for her wiliness and kindness to us. There were 15 of us total, included 2 babies and 3 kids under 5. She was our vacation saver, and we will forever be grateful to her!! Denise you rock! Thank you

Long in the tooth

Property is a little long in the tooth for a repeat stay... the oven knob numbers were faded off, makes for a hard time cooking ... and the dishwasher was not attached to the counter, it kept falling forwards when loading and the internet is not hooked up to the TV’s.....that kinds sums it up

2022 Vacation

I’ve stayed at The Gables several times before with my parents and family. My Mom passed away last February so it was bittersweet for me. She loved the beach and having all her family there. Great location and loved the new additions. The front of the house didn’t cool as well but that is expected in this heat! We did get a call the day before we left saying someone said we had a dog with us. No animals with us, just our kiddos. We enjoyed our stay!

Great Vacation with a few challenges

The location of the property is great. It’s right on the beach and easy access. The kitchen dishes and utensils options were the best I have seen at any vrbo I have stayed at. The beds are comfortable and the linens were nice. We loved the house and location, the problem was the very dirty shower curtains, the food chunks and dirt under the trash can and in the kitchen drawers, the spots and stains on the carpet and the large amount of sugar ants that ended up getting into and eating some of our food. The shower curtains were so bad we just bought new ones at Walmart and changed them all out ourselves. We killed as many of the ants as we could but I have had them In other rentals at the beach and I think it just goes with the territory. We were kind of panicked when we arrived and the house was over 80 degrees but I was able to feel the air coming out was cold it was just that it had been turned off between renters and in the middle of summer took all day and night to cool the house off. By the next morning it was fine and the house was cooled down and pleasant. Overall a great stay and we would stay with them again.

Spring Break Late March

Overall a fine place to stay. We had 14 and we were not cramped at all. Pictures are a little outdated as the house has seen some wear and tear. Location is great with the beach just steps away. Checkout process was a little tedious as you had to do quite a bit more than the normal clean up which is weird because you are charged a cleaning fee. Overall though a decent place to stay if you have a large group for the price.

Great Stay

This was the perfect house for our group of 13. We loved the location, the house was perfect with lots of room, and the neighbors were very nice. The only complaints we had are the mosquito (take bug spray) and the stove needs updated (one of the burners didn't work and you can't read the numbers on the oven dial). The beds are so comfy and the deck is perfect. Would love to see more lighting on the lower deck. We will definitely be back.

Great location! Cute house!

The location and access to the beach were great. The house had everything we needed with plenty of beds, seating to hang out and a great view of the beach. It could use a few updates including a new stove but I would definitely stay there again. It cost extra to have the beds made for our arrival, which I thought was odd, but maybe that's a standard expense in this area.
